Not for Robbies but Marks Marine Diesel repair., 2017-02-16
Captain: , Apponaug R.I. (908)

Seems incapable of anything. Mark came very highly recommended. Last spring (yes that is how long this has been going on) he was to repair a fuel leak on my injector high pressure pump. Upon completion the engine would only reach 1600RPM. He took it appart again reset the throttle inside the pump and reassembled. Now we got to 2200 RPM. This is my cruising rpm. It should go to 3000. Mark now very frustated said You have to get by with this and I'll fix it when you return in the winter. 2 days later the leak was back. It's a small leak but still a leak. We went on with our plans. Returning in November to Key West. With one reason after another as to why he can not be here. Finally he showes up on FEB 14! He removes the throttle lever cover and cannot remember which hole to put the link lever in(he'salready tried 2). He put it in a hole and reassembles. Pressurizing the fuel system for bleeding I now have a massive fuel leak between the body and the throttle lever cover. He has to order a new gasket. Says he will be back Thursday the 16th. Again another no show or not even a call. This has happened before.

The staff makes the yard, 2015-09-13

As noted by others this is a working boatyard. In my experience the emphasis is on work. After a rigging failure offshore our selection critieria was based on getting help on a Saturday and turning around to continue our delivery as quickly as possible. The yard manager worked with use to find a rigger to help us. We were out of the yard within just a few hours (for another marina with better amenities to give the crew a break before continuing on our way) and had all our rigging issues sorted out by sunset on that same Saturday. While the rigging was not done by the yard it was the yard that found the right person for our needs, gave us good advice, and were generally helpful in every way they could be. This was truly an outstanding experience.

I did not use the facilities here but some of my crew took showers and reported them to be clean and quite acceptable.

Robbie's is a Boatyard! The name is Robbie's Boatyard, 2014-09-21

Don't confuse this with the marina further up the keys.

They did a nice job hauling, cleaning and setting our catamaran with a 22.5 foot beam.

There is an onsite Yanmar dealer that is handy.
West Marine isn't far away. Cab ride to town is short. No close by shopping.

Folks in the yard are accomodating. The showers are nasty.

Great working boat yard, 2014-05-21

We have worked out of this yard for 5 years and have seen it go through many changes...all for the good. I have found them to be honest, serving, and very efficent. I have been around a few boat yards in my day and these guys will not put you wrong. If you are looking for a marina, this is not it. Robbies is a hard working boat yard where you can get hauled and repaired. I have seen these guys haul people at all hours of the day and night and Mike Cook and his crew can get any problem you have fixed, again day or night. I have left my 47' boat on the hard here for hurricane season for a number of years and when I return I am celebrated, never treated like just another customer.

wouldnt give this place a rating, 2013-02-16

I hate to sound pissed off ..but, this takes the cake,. They want a 150.$ for cleaning in the bath house. Wheres that money going? Sure isnt to the cleaners. what a mess. bring your own cleaning supplys as well as t.p. The good news is that the people that live aboard are some of the nicest people in the world. Thank you Jeff the carpetener And MIke cook for all your help.

We have been on the hard here for about 8 months. We left the boat for hurricane season, then when we returned, we decided to finish some of those jobs which are so easy to put off. From haul out until now they have had a complete turnover in management and it is improving daily. Turns out this is a pretty good place to haul for maintenance here in Key West.

Cruisers Beware, 2010-12-06
Captain: , Oklahoma (209)

Not going to all out trash these guys but.....
Beware, we were about to transit the Gulf and were having a small problem. The owner of the boat we were delivering got the doom and gloom, you won't make it back to the anchorage report from these guys. Got a second opinion from an honest mechanic. Turned out the second guy was right and the first mechanic was WAY WRONG. Not saying they were dishonest but can't say they gave us good information either....
