Reviews for Riviera Dunes Marina Resort
Outstanding Dockmaster, Marina and Resturant, 2017-03-02
Captain: , Longboat Key, FL (92)

Our boat club had marina and resturant reservations for five boats and 46 people for a luncheon cruise and rendevouse. Arrived with ten boats. Called the dockmaster, Captain Doc Craig, General Manager, on channel 68 ten minutes prior to arrival. He knew we were coming and immediately responded. He was on the dock where he directed each captain to preassigned slips on the three docks. He had several preassigned dockhands on each dock to assist each captain with docking. It was the best run precision recreational docking operation I have seen in forty years of boating. The Blu Mangrove resturant was setup for our group with table arrangement and adequate staff. Free docking for resturant patrons. All of the reviews are right on except for one. Going back in April with another boating club.

Almost 5-star, 2016-11-28
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2860)

I normally require that a marina have a courtesy car available to transients in order to award 5 stars. Everything else about this place is really nice. Having separate adult and family (kids) pools is terrific for those of us who prefer a little peace and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay.

If you walk or bike to the Winn-Dixie, I suggested crossing US 41 at the light-controlled crosswalks outside the marina and then take the white shell path north to 7th street. Make a left and go down a few blocks and you are there.

Very protected, 2016-11-23
Captain: , Chicago, IL (1056)

We've been at Riviera Dunes for about a month, intend on staying thru the end of January. Marina is well maintained with concrete floating docks. Staff is friendly and helpful. Easy, straight forward entrance from the Manatee River; small laundry room with only 2 washers/dryers; decent food at Blu Mangrove Restaurant onsite; 2 pools (one adult, one for the kids); trash receptacles located on tne docks; pump out boat comes around once/week ($5/pumpout). WalMart & Aldi are very close. Dockmaster monitors channel 68.

Nice Stop Over, 2016-07-30
Captain: , Apollo Beach (161)

Riviera Dunes Marina
The entrance into this large basin is straight forward with no hazards. Once inside depths run to 20 feet and no anchoring is allowed. There are a lot of piers and docks and the marina doesn't stand out. We visited off season July 2016 so take this into account reading my review. This is a condominium development that is running a marina so don't expect the same level of knowledge from the staff answering the phone as you might receive from a higher end marina. They didn't answer the VHF so I phoned 941 981 5330. Ask for Doc Craig the general manager. He knows the marina and can secure you a slip when told there are none available. Their cement floating docks are in excellent condition, weather any storm in here, however it is a little tight for maneuvering. Shore power may be an issue finding an open receptacle and the water smelled from lack of use. Everyone was nice and accommodating. The bars and restaurant are nice with above average food and a good pour. Live music outside. This location is a long way from anything other than the convention center and we were warned about the neighborhood. However, a short dingy ride will take you to several other marinas and restaurants. Just down the river is the riverhouse Ref & Grill. I highly recommend it for lunch. If you are looking for a lot of activities Rivera Dunes is not the place but for a nice stop over I can recommend. We will return.

Extra charge for credit cards!, 2016-03-02
Captain: , Palm Coast, FL (341)

The marina charged 10 cents a foot more if you used a credit card. In 45 years of cruising, we have never seen that! Who cruises on a cash basis? Too dangerous to carry lots of money around. Also, the restaurants are not only too far to walk, but require following busy highway with no sidewalks. No way to go cross country safely - we tried!

Great stop, 2014-06-24
Captain: , Corpus Christi,Tx (1569)

We spent 3 weeks there and will return. Floating docks with a helpful staff. Restuarant onsite was excellent with a great happy hour. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Publix and Walmart within 2 miles-- a little to far to walk/bike.

Awesome Marina, 2014-05-29
Captain: , Winter Garden, Fl (2308)

After reviewing a multitude of marinas on the west coast we decided on Riviera Dunes - it was a great choice. The facilities are top notch, the personnel are attentive and courteous, and the location is VERY protected. There is a restaurant/bar on site - great happy hour deals and very good food. There is a 7-11 within walking distance and everything else (Walmart, Publix, etc) a short ride away. Floating concrete docks in great condition - two swimming pools floating at the head of the docks, one reserved just for adults! Great facility, very good value.

Great Value, 2014-05-06
Captain: , Chicago, IL (134)

We have been tenants for nearly three years -- 'nuff said.

Great marina, 2013-08-14
Captain: , Orlando (224)

I am currently keeping my boat there (renting the slip from the slip owner). The facilities are in great shape: floating docks, internet, good electricity, and ample parking. The employees (as well as the fellow boaters) are friendly. There are no sailboats there due to the clearance at the various highway bridges on approach (40%u2019 +/-). It is easy to maneuver the boat inside the marina as it is well protected from wind and current, with wide fairways. It is best to have a car as most of the shopping is at least mile away. The onsite restaurant and bar is pretty decent (good place to eat if you%u2019re too lazy to leave the facility).

Nice well protected marina, 2013-06-22
Captain: , currently Fort Pierce City Marina, Fort Pierce, Fla. (4585)

Very nice, well-protected marina [claimed to be best protected on FL west coast], with well-kept docks. Adjacent to high rise condos. Seems to be rather isolated, but on-site restaurant is excellent. If closer to area services, would be highest rated.

Excellent Marina, 2012-05-13
Captain: , Sarasota, FL (130)

We keep our boat here. A nice setting, wide slips, very little wind or current, good floating docks, cable, restaurant with entertainment, floating pools and fuel dock. Dock hands to help you in.

Good place to stop, 2012-04-29
Captain: , Reedville, VA (689)

Stayed for three nights. Newspaper and coffee in the morning. Staff and local boaters very helpful and friendly. Great restaurant on site.

Wonderfull marina to visit, 2012-02-29
Captain: , Palmetto, Fl. (66)

Though it is kind of confusing finding this marina, it is worth it. Superb service, great prices, and a good restaurant on site. Floating docks that are in great condition, with a fuel dock and pumpout facilities makes this one of the better maninas to visit.

Top of the LIne Marina, 2012-01-20
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4015)

Wide slips, wide fairways, very protected harbor, deep water, concrete floating docks, very quiet, helpful staff, immaculate restroon/showers with solid mahogany doors, at the same prices as nearby marinas. Walmat and much shopping 0.8 mile away - long walk, easy bike ride. Diuring our visit their diesel was $3.67/gal when the two nearby marinas were $4.11 and $4.37/gal.

ECELLENT MARINA, 2011-02-05
Captain: , folly beach sc (62)

Our boat is presently there and we are extremely happy with the way things are kept. Docks are scrubbed, friendly staff, great place for the dog to walk, great restaurant. If you have access to a car(taxi cab ride is $8 to go over to Bradenton) you can walk Bradenton or visit Dophin Marina. Highly recommend!

Unplesent Place, 2011-01-26
Captain: , Clearwater (326)

Stuck up, rude staff and a harbormaster with an unbelieveable attitude. Unless you have a huge new boat and tons of money they'll treat you like dirt

Great Marina, 2011-01-13
Captain: , Riviera Dunes, FL (80)

Docked my boat there for about 6 months. Great people--The dock Master "Doc" (no kidding) is a great guy. Restrooms clean, pump out boat comes to you. Grills on site, 2 pools, and great on site dinning as well.

Outstanding Marina, 2010-10-04
Captain: , St. James, NC (253)

Very helpful staff, very clean facilities, outstanding restaurant. Will definately stay there again.

Great facilities and dog friendly, 2007-02-09
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (118)

We stayed for two weeks with our three little dogs. The people were friendly, the restrooms spotless, the laundry facility was great, we used their grills three different times and the newspaper delivered to the boat each morning was enjoyed greatly. We'll stay there again.
