Reviews for Lauderdale Marine Center
Lauderdale Marine Center East expansion, 2015-05-09
Captain: , Port Everglades (505)

The former River Bend Marina is dead and gone. The property is now incorporated into the Lauderdale Marine Center East.. It is currently being renovated to the high standards of the rest of the LMC facility.

It's a boatyard, not a marina, 2015-01-16
Captain: , Jupiter, FL (506)

The staff here were excellent. I had my mast stepped here then stayed onboard for a week to provision the boat and wait for friends to arrive. Slip fee was $1/ft/day. Yard was noisy with paint compressors running, trucks and travellift. Gritty and dusty. I preferred to shower on the boat. Staff there told me the yard will be rebuilt soon by the new owners.

Over priced and mediocre service, 2014-12-20
Captain: , Portland, OR (10)

Hauled at River Bend Marina for bottom paint. The staff is generally very inefficient and not caring of customer satisfaction. The fellow assigned to do the sanding and painting was conscientious and did a good job but the cost for the job was nearly double of what I have paid in the past for a bottom job. Facility is dirty and bathrooms are a mess. They did not allow living on board while on the hard.

This review is for Patagonia Services Division the lead contractor at River Bend, 2014-04-17
Captain: , St. Ignace, Michigan (236)

I am just a 37' trawler hauled out at Lauderdale Marine Center, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the likes of the 210 ft Lady M see, who seems to have an army working 24 hours a day nearby, on lord knows what...

Anyway, the owner and chief technician of Patagonia Services, Leandro Napoleone, is wonderful to deal with, has good people working with him. I had my bottom painted, and some cosmetic repairs done, and the work was done beautifully, on time, and at a reasonable cost. Leandro is also very business-like, ensuring that all agreements and estimates are clear and documented, which is so important to this kind of work. He also gives great "free advice" on how the owner/crew can best complete work themselves, if budget requires.

Finally, one of the dock managers at LMC (who do no work on boats they haul or berth themselves) told me she thought Leandro was great, "strong work ethic and honest" which she volunteered! Her recommendation is probably more important than mine!

Improved Under New Ownership, 2014-04-09
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (20)

Significant improvements have been made under new management. Wash rooms are much better now, the yard is cleaner, and overall things are much nicer. There's still room for improvement but the new team is working hard to offer a better experience than what previous reviewers may have experienced under the old team.

New Owners, 2013-09-15
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (261)

The marina was finally bought from the bank and now is in an upgrade mode. The new team is spending money on the place and there should be an improvement over what the other reviewers experienced when cash was tight.

Cheap Harbor, 2011-12-18
Captain: , Basilea (20)

It's a cheap harbor - and as usual you get what you pay....The wash rooms are really bad (and no pump out on side), we had power surges and the area is dusty and full of boats which are under construction. So its dirty and noisy. Our private worst thing is that they orvercharged us 300 US - and have not been willing to pay us back - check your invoices carfully (no Credit Cards)! Last but not least, not all the yard' recommended companys are OK, make your own research. In summary: If you need a cheap yard to do some work it may be fine, if you (or your wife!) needs a decent level of comfort, stay away.

Stuck, 2008-02-12
Captain: , New Bedford,MA (3)

Tranny blew within 4 miles of Port Everglades Inlet. Towed here (21 bridges) but it is a WONDERFULLY run place. Bad side of town, but 24 X 7 security and wonderful staff and services.
