Reviews for Rickenbacker Marina
Hostile to crusiers, 2017-03-15
Captain: , Hampton VA (70)

Anchored in Marine Stadium I needed to get my wife to the pharmacy. We thought we would call an uber and have them pick her up at the Marina or the Resturant. Upon dinghing up to the docks a dock master with no concept of english just keep saying no no no and pointing to security cameras and giving a cut throut sign across his neck. So much for anything positive about this place.

Great Marina for long term in Miami, 2016-01-20
Captain: , Dallas (35)

Excellent customer service and totally responsive to our requests. Totally safe with 24 hour security. Starting our 2nd year at Rickenbacker - it's just under the causeway to sailing in Biscayne Bay. No complaints - managment is totally responsive and extremely helpful to us as long distance owners.

Nice place but not really set up for/interested in transients, 2015-11-20
Captain: , Hartfield, VA (160)

We tried this place as alternative to dreaded Herbert Hoover and Black point marinas (see which). Marina has a very busy dry storage operation and very few transient slips. Marina staff is polite but less than helpful. Lots of paperwork, including reqirement to fax/email reservation form and credit card info. English is a second language here. Nice tiki bar and 1st class restaurant.

Has everything, 2015-03-06

Good place to stop before heading south. Clean showers and marina but nothing in walking distance. Security doesn't speak english which wouldn't be a problem but I wasn't put on marina docks where showers are and had to show security I was docked here but on docks in front of bar which is not behind gated security. Not much current inside but not much space to move around inside when boats are being put in at boat ramp. Not my favorite place.

Also the pump out is $10 which we did because we were there anyway. Would not go back. But, the dock hand was quick to come out to try to help us and was very polite.

No More Mooring Balls, 2015-01-28
Captain: , Fayetteville, Arkansas (671)

We called today, the nice lady said they were no longer using the mooring field. Price for dockage for a 40 boat was $3.50.

Very Well Run, 2013-03-05
Captain: , Pines Lake, NJ (451)

Granted, $40 a night for a mooring ball is a bit steep but we picked one up just to take some hot showers. do laundry and fill our water tanks. The bathrooms and showers are new and the laundry is clean with several machines. The gasoline is ethanol free as well.

This place is very well run. Although I was on one of their low cost mooring balls with many high paid boats in the slips paying by the month, we were treated like we were the best customer they had. They went out of their way to accomodate any needs we had as well as give advice on how to take the bus to the Winn Dixie in Key Biscayne. I can't say enough good things about the management.

The view from the mooring balls is unsurpassed of the Miami skyline. There are occasional wakes but very bearable. However, the balls do not have any ground tackle, just a rust covered eye bolt so be sure you bring the appropriate lines/shackles to connect.

A marina with liveaboard mooring balls too, 2011-07-30
Captain: , West Palm Beach (121)

Well run, courteous staff. Liveaboards allowed. No dingy dock--just a landing area in the mangroves near shower house/laundry room. Good securty at marina. Not enough parking spots when were were there.

well run and best hurricane hole in miami, 2010-11-18
Captain: , miami,fl (2241)

was here for 5 years and went thur a lot of hurricanes - including katrina and wilma -- in constant state of upgrades and they work at keeping it up - did solve the wake problem so not bad now

Friendly staff but horendous wakes!, 2009-03-03
Captain: , Miami, fl (3666)

Great staff, very friendly, but the wakes are horrendous! Small boats speeding into the marina or around into Marine Stadium, as well as sportfish taking a short cut across the flat towards Government Cut.

good services, Wifi, security, although the docks are a little narrow, no finger piers and too few pilings.
