Sad to report that Rialto has closed. The owner has retired. I know, "Say it ain't so!"

This is the best venue on the ICW. Side tie with individual flower and herbs at your dock. Flower bouquet to greet you. Owners awesome. Property has pool, lovely showers, guest house, horse barns, gardens planted with love. Owner has BBQ grill fired for you each eve, or order pizza. Would love to return, but hear they are retiring. Best wishes as you move on.....

I can only repeat what others have said - which got us here in the first place. The is a unique and beautiful spot. Outstanding service - they will make your wood fire in the grill at the time of your choice - bring you flowers and a newspaper. The grounds are planted with wonderful tropical plants, pool and buildings that fit in another era - and are filled with horses, chickens, I am sure I heard a goat and some doves... but most important the people are so welcoming and friendly. Felt like I was coming to visit old friends. Don't miss it if you are crossing the Okeechobee, and consider it for a longer stay if you can. Well worth the price to visit such a unique spot.

Not Your Average Marina, 2013-03-01
Captain: , Annapolis (1465)

Stopped for two days and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! Previous reviews have said it all. Enjoyed watching them train a young horse at their training facility.

This is a one-of-a-kind marina. It's hard to say what's better...the relaxing atmosphere or Bus and Nifty Hamilton and their staff.

You'll feel like you been transported back in time! Not too much more to add to what others have said. Very friendly people; the Hamilton's were away (winning more trophies!) but Steve and crew were great.

New high capacity washers and driers ($2.00 a load) recently installed.

only a few docks so call ahead. Very accomodating, fresh flowers and a newspaper in the AM. The most beautiful unique marina in a tropical setting. Plan on a few days to unwind. AMAZING grounds and pool. 2.5 miles from the Franklin lock ( 3 ft lift form the west) tennis court,

Beautiful tropical gardens, horses, chickens, and a few ducks. It is expensive, but the atmosphere is something that should not be missed. There is no repair, no fuel, and it is a little tight getting in and out. Therefore, four stars instead of five.

Rare find, 2012-12-03
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

Most marinas are pretty plain. This is the exception. It is a beautiful stop along the Okeechobee crossing. The docks are in great shape, and you are protected from wakes by the outer island. The real difference are the owners. They have developed a very nice "Old Florida" atmosphere with superior service. Whether you are staying one night or for the season, they can accomadate you. It is a small marina, with only a few transient slips, but well worth the stop (even at $2.50/ft./night). Don't miss this one.

Rialto, a charming, peaceful, getaway harbor, 2012-08-05
Captain: , Burnt Store Marina (10)

Rilato Harbor was our last stop returning home from a 38 day cruise to Charleston, SC in May. It was just what we needed -- peaceful and relaxing. The grounds are well maintained with lush vegetation. The orchids were blooming profusely in the trees. Love the horses, goats, hens & roosters on the property. Bus has a wood fired Weber grill dockside -- great for our steak dinner. We just returned for another two night stay to celebrate our anniversary. The vase of flowers upon arrival and newspaper on our boat each morning was an example of the personalized service we have gotten with each visit.

We were so glad not to miss this 2-night stop; the proprietors are delightful and helpful and the ambience is rustic beauty. The pool, bathhouse, laundry were very nice.

Take a dinghy ride W for about a mile to the charted Hickey Creek for a nice ride through old world FL.

This is the third time we have stayed at Rialto and it never disappoints us. The service is unmatched, the setting is magical, the docking is heart stopping.

What a trip!
This is probably what old Florida looked like. Unspoiled.

A little bit of Paradise, 2012-02-03
Captain: , Charlestown (946)

When you come here it is like going back a little in time. Set on 12 private acres with a guest cottage, horse racing carriage barn, wonderful paths, a pool and tennis courts. The help is why they are called help, very helpful. Want a ride to town, you got it. Hey, we even got flowers and a newspaper delivered to the door. Was I dreaming I was at the Marriot and then I woke up on my boat? Come on over, take a nap and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed

Little things add up, like the doormat placed at your feet on the dock, a vase of fresh cut flowers deliverd dockside and the rocking chairs under the thatch of the tiki hut. Private, quiet and yet full featured. We will go out of our way to come back, and next time stay longer.

Rialto Docks, 2011-06-04
Captain: , Wickford, RI (1637)

What a great place! We got a dock right on the river, but they also have some spots on a canal. Our dock had a tiki hut, rocking chairs, power, water, and was only a couple hundred feet from a very nice pool.
A drawback (for some people) would be the lack of restrooms and showers. There is a unisex tiolet and shower, but it was not near to our dock. The other drawback is that the place appears to be used a lot for long term storage (and brokerage), so you definitely should call ahead to see if there will be space for your boat. If you get in, it is sure to be a pleasant experience.
The owner (Bus) was super nice and is active in many hobbies (and will be happy to tell you about). He suggested two dining options (both of which we tried and they were very good).

Must stop westbound, 2011-02-19
Captain: , Beaufort, NC (531)

If you want to catch your breath before the never ending slow zones when you are westbound, on the trip to Ft. Meyers, this is the place to stay. The marina is very small and part of a working horse farm. If you want to stay here be sure to call ahead, dock space is very limited.

The marina is located on a loop, off of the main waterway, so wake protection is great. There is a tour boat that passes by that may rock you a bit, but it only showes up a few times a day. The surrounding trees provide excellent protection from wind. This is the place to be in a storm You should enter via the west channel. It is narrow but the dockmaster will provide instructions. Follow them and you will not have any problems. Once in the marina there is room to turn a fifty footer with a bit of care. You will tie up at your own fixed wood dock. All slips, or docks in this case, have water and power connections.

The bath facilities are very clean, with plenty of hot water, and well kept. They are located in a small cabin with a lending library. Their is also a heated pool and for those who want excerise, tennis courts. Internet connection is a bit slow, but seems to be reliable. We had no problems with our Verizon air card.

When you first arrive you will usually get flowers and the next morning, a newspaper. As far as shopping or other supplies, I can't say, we have never wandered further that the grounds.

This is my wife's favorite stopping place when we are westbound. In fact she insists that we stop here even when we could make it to Ft. Meyers the same day. It is not cheap but well worth the stop. Try it, you will be glad that you did.

First but not last visit, 2010-11-25
Captain: , Deale, MD (160)

Stopped here for Thanksgiving. The marina owners hosted a turkey dinner for marina guests and friends. Setting is beautiful and service is first rate. We've heard good things about Rialto and it's all true. We'll be back.

Great place in a storm., 2009-04-18
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Florida (41)

Stayed 4/13/09. Very friendly staff and resident "cruisers". Beautiful gardens/grounds. Inside the locks--not tidal, fresh water. Rates now $2.50/ft (30 foot minimum) that includes 2 30Amp or 1 50Amp, water (well). Slept well through thunderstoms/wind/lightning. The facility is well protected. The owner (Bus Hamilton--very nice and helpful) said that they have not had a boat damaged in a hurricane in 26 years.

Great Place, 2009-01-11
Captain: , Stuart, FL (426)

Beautiful setting. Nice people. I took a 50' Grand Banks in last year. The channel is a little narrow to get in and out of, but just follow their instructions and you'll be OK. Good convenience store/Italian restaurant 3/4 mile walk. The tables for the restaurant are next to the grocery shelves but food is very good.
