Reviews for Renaissance Marina
Much better than expected!, 2017-08-23

Med Mooring (which is a new thing for us) with water and power extra. Live aboards are tucked into a corner to reduce ther jerky docking style associated with surge and large powerboat wakes. Renaissance Marina is liked to the hotels, so you have access to everything a guest has, private island (with pink flamingos running around the beach), pools, Navagiators. Wifi was poor at the dock, but at the pool or lounge -strong and free. Hans and Even were great and always happy/pleasent (almost too much- but it is "One happy island") and extreemly accommodatimg. Diesel was about $5.60/gallon. Their office has a marine store that was very well stocked.
The docks are open to public/locals, but never felt uncomfortable. Night security walks by constantly (seems like every hour) and we felt confortable leaving our boat alone for 2 months. Hans/Even will start the engines/check the bildges every 2 weeks and check/adjust lines weekly. (included with the dockage fee).
Small grocery/hardware/raidoshack/bicycle stores intown and easily walkable, large ones along with (Lowes style) hardware stores were about half hour bike ride or $20 taxi(one way).
We could have stayed at the marina next to the airport saving us $200./month, but one needs a car or expect to do 1 hr bike rides for anything. Pluss the dump's smoke and ash fallout is unpleasent(at least at the anchorage next to it)
I consider this marina to be one of the top 3 friendlest, high end facilities we've stayed at in the last 8 years.

Stayed here for two weeks hoping for a break in the East wind that never came. Marina is very well managed we got the slip right by the fuel dock in fromt of the Casino it was excellent. Everything here was great and I would highly recommend this as a stop over point.

You will find the staff at Renaissance Marina to be very helpful. Sander's and XJ were always friendly and helpful and I could not be more pleased with their friendly and knowledgeable service. Unlike other marinas they really do monitor the VHF and reply when you call. Someone will wave at you from the dock to show you your slip when you enter and then skillfully help you tie up. There is a well-stocked, if small, chandlery on site and if you need to ship parts in they will aid you in insuring that the right people at customs get your paperwork so that clearance can occur as fast as possible.

I had to have my engine rebuilt because it overheated and seized up just as I entered the harbor. Pulling an engine from a sailboat is a big job in any marina. Although, Renaissance Marina is not a shipyard or the place anyone would choose to do a project like this the staff understood my plight and went out of their way to help me get the job done. Their recommendations for local skilled mechanics were spot on and the guys worked hard and did a good job.

If you are going to Aruba you will find this place to be well worth staying at.

Very pleasant marina, part of a scenic resort property with casino and convention center complex. Marina guests are allowed to use the amenities including pools, gyms, and private island via shuttle boat at no extra change. Advance reservations are a good idea. The dockmaster, Sanders, is very knowledgeable and helpful and can assist with importation of various parts and supplies through the ship's store. Numerous security officers are on duty around the clock but the public is allowed to roam freely on the docks, so expect a flow of pleasant & inquisitive tourists. Many dining options are within walking distance %u2013 everything from Dunkins Donuts to extravagant buffets. With a rental car one has access to numerous shops, restaurants, a selection of nice supermarkets and a small Budget Marine store in addition to island sightseeing. We spent 6 weeks here waiting for a weather window to travel to Colombia and loved every minute of it.
