Great Place to visit, 2013-08-13

Stayed here a night. Nice helpful staff, the dock master Shep lives on a house boat on the dock, secure with locking card operated pedestrain gate to access the docks. Showers and pool hot tub is availablewith your dockage at the nearby Lord Beaverbrook Carlton hotel. A very nice place. Floating docks with side tie up. I think 1.65 per foot for dockage, closest fuel is at Oromocto Yacht club. Local points of interest, include a close by park that features a colorful changing of the guard ceremony. Good food at Issiac's way which is close to the docks. Cora's is a must for breakfast a short walk to down town. Excellent art musuem closeby. You could easily spend a couple days here.

This facility was owned by the City of Fredericton and is now run by a local group of boaters. Dockage is $1 a foot (July 2009) and has launch service. It is locate right downtown Fredericton.

You are withing two or three blocks of a dozen restaurants, stores, crafts, coffee places. About six block to a hardware store and about ten blocks to a two large grocery stores.

People are friendly and this Capital city of New Brunswick is rich in heritage sites.

Caution - the walking bridge (just down river) has a clearance of only about 35 feet. For sailboats visiting, many will anchor just below the bridge and dingy to the wharf.
