Reviews for Rappahannock Yachts Sanders Yacht Yard
Rappahannock Yachts response to customer review of 2016-06-01, 2016-08-09
Captain: , Irvington, VA (15)

The customer completed his mechanical work himself and the boatyard had no knowledge of work completed by the customer while the boat was on shore for winter storage.
To assure the safety of every vessel, once a boat is launched and before it is released from the slings, we check to make sure there are no sea water leaks.
We must start the motor to move the boat away from the travelift slip.
To do that, the batteries need to be fully charged and dock lines must be made available.
To assure the boat or engine will sustain no damage when it is moved, we check the oil before starting, and after starting we make sure the engine is pumping water and properly shifting.
We open and check the engine room to make sure there are no fuel, exhaust or water leaks.
If the customer requests to be present at launch, they are welcome to perform this service themselves.

We cannot understand why the customer continues to complain about any costs.
After he questioned the %u201Cfees%u201D, in advance of the work being performed, we allowed the customer to perform his own inspection after the boat was launched - and no charge was made.

The customer was sent our information packet that included all fee information. The customer acknowledged he received it by email on 10/7/15 before the boat was hauled.

Regarding the "potential damage" to the Wind-Generator.
The customer disconnected the wiring leads from the battery - without informing the yard. We were unaware of this when we moved the Wind-Generator, which was required to access the boat in order to launch it.
Nevertheless, we agreed to be responsible for any damage to the Wind-Generator, only to find, there was none.

We strive to accommodate our customers desires by direct communication and documentation of all repairs and services, all in a friendly atmosphere and for both transient and long-time customers.

P.S. Yes it is true, Lancaster County has no property taxes on boats!

Expensive Work, Changes to my boat without authorization, 2016-06-01
Captain: , Deltaville (20)

This marina will nickel and dime you for every cent they can get. They tack on all kinds of fees. A hour of labor to disable the battery switches at the end of haul. They noticed my blidge pump was running in January but didn't tell me until March. They also reconfigured my wind generator at launch potentially causing damage to it. Be aware when using this yard.

Outstanding yard, 2015-04-29
Captain: , Weems, VA (51)

I've done business with this yard for more than 20 years, and I've never had an issue with any of the numerous jobs they've done, including several significant upgrades and repairs. I don't think it's the cheapest yard around, but I think the reliability and quality of their work is worth the extra dinero.

Performed work not authorized $$$$$, 2014-05-30
Captain: , Norwalk Yacht Club (102)

Cost $175 for a jump start when boat was put in storage four years ago. Performed work not authorized by estate executor at that time. When boat recomssioned this year (first time in four years) charged $40 to just move boat from lift well to slip.

Great Yard, 2012-12-12
Captain: , deltaville (90)

Pulled my 30 foot Alberg out for the winter to do some upgrades. Restrooms basic but clean. Full service center and easy to work with. Had to pull boat due to severe leak in through hull, on short notice they gave me a tow, pulled, pressure washed were very reasonable.
