Reviews for Ram's Head Inn
Beautiful peaceful spot, 2016-08-10
Captain: , Marthas Vineyard (506)

Coecles Harbor is lovely and uncrowded, the anchorage is limited, and Ram Head Inn offers about half dozen moorings. You are expected to dine at the Inn if you use one of the moorings and please do, so they will keep offering moorings. We enjoyed two yummy dinners and jazz in the bar. The RH Inn is wonderful country inn. Maybe keep it all a secret.

New mooring policy, 2014-08-13
Captain: , Toms River, NJ (10)

Rams Head Inn now charges $25 per night for use of their moorings but credits the amount to your dinner bill. Great idea that frees the moorings for folks interested in dining

Comfortable and Relaxing, 2014-03-20
Captain: , Coecles Harbor (301)

The Ram%u2019s Head Inn is one of the staple restaurants on Shelter Island. The restaurant is a little on the pricy side, but it does offer many amenities for its patrons. Over the past few years, the chef has changed hands, but as of recent, I%u2019ve only heard good things about the food and service. The Ram%u2019s Head Inn is a great place to come and unwind after a long day. Go sit and have desert or a drink and watch as the sun sets over the Mashomack preserve.

Come Early June beat the Crowd, 2012-10-19

Mid-week, we were only boat on the moorings, enjoyed a Mango Daiquiri and coffee and desert. All in all a good trade......I am sure it gets busy later but we enjoyed peace and quite early June.

Ample free moorings, 2011-08-14
Captain: , Chelsea, NY12512 (481)

Beautiful rustic off the beaten track hotel and restaurant in the harbor. Delicious food, but pricey. Town is far, Taxi costs $14 Free dingy dock.

free mooring and great food, 2010-04-14
Captain: , Milford (439)

We had been anchored in the south cove of Coecles but took a mooring for our 34 ft Tartan as a fierce line of squalls approached in July 2009. We dinked over to the nice dinghy dock and walked up to the Inn for a fabulous meal and drinks. The squall line hit with 50kt+ winds as we sipped mojios. After the storm we went back to the boat which was just fine. the best way to ride out a storm! the Ram's Head is very cozy, a bit pricey, but the experience and the surroundings are truly wonderful and a great way to keep The Admiral happy when cruising for days in a 34' sailboat.

Free moorings off small dinghy float in inner harbor. The food is great but definitely on the "high end".
