Reviews for RCR Yachts
Great place to step mast, 2016-07-31
Captain: , Michigan (190)

Coming from the Erie, this is an excellent place to step the mast. There are two low bridges in the Black Rock canal that do not need to open if you step the mast at RCR. Also, RCR has a good size crew to do the job. RCR will do everything for you or you can do as much as you prefer. This may be a big issue for the first timers going through the Erie Canal or those not familiar with the process of stepping or un-stepping. They are also a quite big marina, so transient dockage is not an issue.

good yard and service, 2016-07-10
Captain: , Sarasota, FL (60)

I had standing rigging replaced (Ullman Sails) and Yanmar work over a ten-day period. Knowledgable and responsive staff; fair pricing with no surprises. The setting is industrial and you'll need a car to shop etc. The canal front entertainment area is nearby as are lakefront bike and hiking trails.

Experienced and friendly team, 2015-08-12
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (1234)

Had an appointment to take our 58' mast down. Also needed some spares for our Westerbeke that they ordered for us and had waiting for our arrival. Darren and crew did a great job - quicker than I anticipated, so we did not overnite here but went north about 3NM to Buffalo Yacht Club.

Mast up - great job, 2015-07-24
Captain: , Sarnia (371)

We stopped here on July 20 to have the mast put up. They don't work weekends. Very professional job and done very timely. Great teamwork and worked with us. Highly ahead as they are very busy.

great service, 2012-06-20
Captain: , holland, mi (132)

Besides mast stepping and blocking, we went back there when canal closed in fall of 2011. Winter storage, hauling etc was done with the utmost care and professionalism. Darren and crew were exceptional.

Professional place - clean yard - Sailor's delight, 2012-04-02
Captain: , Warwick, RI (432)

mast unstepping was $8.50 a foot.
$79 an hour to build cradles, etc.
slips were $20 a foot a month
No fuel
Remote from everything but right on Lake Erie.

Good for sailboats, 2011-09-08
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

Stopped in to get a pump out and pick up Yanmar filters as they are a Yanmar Dealer. Nice folks but their marina is very crowded without transient slip unless an owner vacates.

Great place for repairs/mast stepping. Highly industrial area, 2010-07-13
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

We had our mast stepped at RCR and I can hightly recommend them. They did a great job relative to what we've seen elsewhere. I can highly recommend them. They also have a full service boat yard and can probably handle most repairs that one might have.

Note that they're located in a highly industrial area without any attractions nearby. Also note that this is a boat yard and not a polished marina.

RCR Yachts Buffalo, 2009-05-17
