Reviews for Quartermaster Marina
Quartermaster Marina, 2013-08-11
Captain: , Barrachois Harbour NS, Canada (2472)

Downtown Charlottetown location. Friendly staff!
(Note- Be SURE to get your washroom/shower key upon registering. It is most unfortunate that Capt. Schultz was not apprised of this) WiFi is available on the docks as of 2009.

(EDIT 2013)
Some severe changes, (not for the better) in operation of this facility have occurred since our visit in 2009. Mostly power boats here now. A Convention Centre is being built by the hotel next door and as a result, QM lost about 40 slips. With the move of the fireworks on July 1st to Victoria Park, boaters are no longer able to view them from the marina.

A SECOND CHOICE MARINA, 2011-08-17
Captain: , Oriental, NC (1148)

Choose Quartemaster Marina only if you can't get a slip at Charlottetown Yacht Club. The biggest problem with the marina is the narrow berths (14' beam) and the fact that the ends of the dock are unprotected by any type of fendering. When approaching you are entering the ends on wood and an L shaped steel angle piece. I spoke to management about this but they figured it was up to the yacht to make a good landing. This is difficult due to the narrow confines. Yachts that have permanent berths have put up their own fendering for protection.
Additionally, this marina is more expensive than the other one and has no fuel or pump out services which means that you will end up going over to Charlottetown Yacht Club in any case.
On the plus side, if you like country Irish/Scottish fiddling and guitar music, there are live performances at Peaks Quay which can be heard from the yacht slips.

Perhaps our all-time favorite stop, 2010-03-02
Captain: , Sarasota (1427)

You can overlook (I guess) the less-than-pefect marina (as described previously) when you consider the location. There were two concerts everyday on the commons next to the marina and there is a Cow's ice cream store also at the marina. Spend several days there, catch some concerts, and rent a car and drive around the island. Charlottetown is a great place to visit. Be sure to eat at FLEX.

Poor Internet, bathrooms and laundry, 2008-08-23
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

The finger docks at Quartermaster are narrow and rocky. The bathrooms are the public bathrooms for the area with a separate locked uni-sex shower area for marina guests. The bathrooms were locked 2 out of 3 nights with a key that only management (who showed up at 8 AM) had. It's a long walk to laundry facilities. They charge an extra $4/day for power that no one else does. Internet is only available in the dockmaster office when there's someone there as the 65 yo owner doesn't understand why anyone needs it.
