Reviews for Puerto Deportivo Benalmadena
Be carefull, 2017-04-20

This marina is mainly used by people whostay here for years. Visitors are parked in the entrance. BUT when the wind is coming from the east a hudge swell comes into the marina an d boat at the entrance are shaking a lot. So much that we breaked to ropes and hit the pontoon.
On top of that, the place is not nice. People going to restaurant without shirts, lots of boat with drunk people, and on top of that hudge cockroaches

Pretty place, well priced, 2016-07-10

We stayed 3 nights, and paid $150 Euros for our 41 foot catamaran.

After leaving Gibraltar, we sailed to Fuengirola and spent the night on the hook, then came here the next morning, to extend our time out of Schengen.
Check in, to get our passports stamped was in Malaga. The ferry here will take you to Malaga Marina for 15 Euros round trip (check the schedule). Bus 110 goes to the Malaga Marina for 1.75 Euros, and runs every 10 or 15 minutes.
Policia in Malaga are just past the bus station and to the right, behind the huge ferris wheel. They were very friendly and helpful.
The Picasso Museum and a magnificent cathedral are only a few blocks away.

The 5 prong electric plug needed here can be purchased at the chandlery for 20 Euros. The marina wants 50. Stay left as you exit the marina and the chandlery will be on your left, as you walk to the beach.

We got a berth in a bay behind the office. It was a tight fit but we made it. We had to go bow in as the wharf is rather high. Other boats around us had springs on their mooring lines and for a reason. There was nearly constant low wash moving the boat. It was not dangerous in mild conditions but became destractive in strong winds from the West. Avoid berths with numbers 12 to 16.
Nearby entry to the parking made a noise but fortunately there was no traffic at night.
The mooring line seemed to be too short for our yacht and I asked in the office for some solution. Within ten minutes we had divers at our berth and they discovered the line was caught under a rubbish bin that someone threw in the water. They fixed the problem and we were happy with the way the mooring line secured the boat.
It is a place worth a visit but book a berth if you can. When we arrived the marina did not look too full but the manager had difficulties to find a place for us. The reason was that they try to fit every yacht to berth designed for specific size of the boat. If your boat has a popular size then the difficulties arise.

Full service at a good price, 2015-07-01

Although it's the ultimate holiday resort featuring rather goofy "Arabian Nights" architecture, the marina is a great alternative along this coast. tons of restaurants, a supermarket, and buses to Malaga. You can get anything done here, and with several chandleries you can find whatever you need.

Mi amarre 2 meses, 2015-03-03
Captain: , Real Club Nautico - Valencia (118)

Uno de los más bonitos puertos deportivos de la costa del sol.

Fácil amarre

Algo alto de precio para los servicios que ofrece.

Cuidado con el viento fuerte de levante puede complicar la aproximación.

a nice setting, 2011-12-13
