Reviews for Promenade Docks City of Toledo
Great for the 4th of July, 2014-09-07

Nice little marina with floating docks. Looks like the docks and power boxes were fairly new. We were there for the 4th of July 2014 and at that time the electric was not hooked up. The rumor going around was they were waiting on permits. It was nice for the 4th when there was lots of people around, but I agree with Rayel that I don't think I'd be comfortable overnight when there were less people around. And yes, food was several blocks away. I heard there was a water taxi to take people across to The Docks, but I never saw it.

I don't know the story but, the pedestals are there and pretty new, just not turned on. Figer piers were a few feet short for my 30ft boat, so if you're looking to walk off on anything over 24ft, dock Stern first. There's plenty of width, no center pilings and notbody was there so, stern in was easy in 30mph winds.

Docks were very nice, wide and sturdy. I didn't end up staying more than 30 min because 1) there was no power, 2) I didn't feel comfortable that a couple suspicious acting locals hanging around the park wouldn't liberate my GPS units and computers on board, 3) most importantly, I could not see anyplace to eat within eyeshot or even according to folks I asked, so we just shot accross the river to the boardwalk of restaurants at International Park, which was great for docking too, temporarily.

Trip down the Maumee River, from Erie was easier and faster than I thought. You can run planing speeds all the way up the the Main St. Bridge, just as you get to these 2 marinas, which was a relief to me.

I will come back and visit downtown Toledo when I have days available, instead of a few hours and I'm sure this will be a great place to stay.
