Reviews for Prickly Bay Marina
Turmoil abounds, 2016-06-26
Captain: , Little River, SC (141)

The Director of Prickly Bay Marina was deported a few weeks ago,for wat ever reasons. Since Darrens departure a state of un certainty has settled in. The staff tries their best but they are not really there.
New dock staff are as yet not tested, I'll with hold judgement. Diesel and gas availabilitywas questionable through the year.

Service, Service, Service, 2015-12-08

We received the friendliest and most knowledgeable service in the Windward Islands here. The staff can arrange and make suggestions for any activity you seek, or for any boat repair necessitated. Whether you want to tour the rum factories, nutmeg plants, shopping centers, or the location of Operation Urgent Fury, the Marina operator will orchestrate it so as to hook you up with the most experienced person on the island for your interest. The same applies for advice as to who supplies the best workmanship for any of your boat needs.

The marina itself is not fancy, and if you seek a luxury marina with all of the amenities then your only real choice is the marina in St. George's. We have heard from other boaters, though not personally experienced, that luxury does not equate to friendly there. We can, however, say friendly is on steroids at Prickly Bay Marina.

We spent 3 weeks in Grenada and one week here (we anchored out the other two weeks.) We highly recommend.

Free WiFi is great, 2015-04-19

Arrived June 1 and we love it here. The marina staff are very helpful, services can all be arranged. The tiki bar is a social center for the bay and Darren does a great job of keeping it all going with good food, reasonably priced drinks and lots of cruiser and local activities. Darren also runs Rescue One, a service that picks up where the coast guard cant get. He has helped many a fisherman and cruiser in tough times. Highly recommend you consider PB for your hurricane season layover.

Safe, professional, helpful friendly and fun, 2013-10-02

We really like the atmosphere at the bar, clean showers, the staff is very helpful and can help a lot with sourcing whatever part and labour you need. It's an excellent anchorage, all the moorings are very thoroughly and routinely checked and maintained. It gets a little rolly sometimes but is well worth the stay.

Very limited dockage. Mooring field - some moorings very close together - would not want to be there without some wind as the swing space is inadequate. During the trades not a big problem but we watched as we sailied on the mooring and the boat next to us did also. We could jump from one boat to the next. Tends to be a bit rooly - further out moorings get uite a bit of wind.

Necessary stopover, 2012-12-15

I wouldn't really call this a marina, but you can tie up there. It has the only fuel dock on Prickly Bay. Also has a relatively good shop for daily necessities, a laundry, and above the laundry, the customs and immigration offices. Oh yes, and the beach bar is one of the main gathering spots for cruisers anchored out in the Bay. The restaurant isn't too bad either.

Prickly Bay Marina, 2010-02-28

A small marina left over from when it was a boatyard. There is now a large condominium development. Boats are stern to in an often rolly dock area. I prefer to be anchored out in the bay. That said it is one of the few places to get diesel, gas and water. There is quite a few general yacht services available.
