Reviews for Presque Isle State Harbor
Nice scenic stop, 2015-09-22
Captain: , Catawba Island Ohio (530)

Good floating docks with 6x6 posts. Very pleasant and helpfull staff. Good showerhouse. Nice wallk to close lighthouse and bike ride to further one. Restaurant right there and ice cream across road. Very quiet night. Felt like ontario.

pretty and clean harbor, 2015-08-17
Captain: , Port Huron Michigan (180)

Stayed two different days, on the way up and the way down. Clean harbor, restrooms, friendly and helpful dock hands. Restaurant is fair; tried it twice. Pizza was the best of the two meals we had. Party store accross the road. That is all their is in this harbor; oh and ice cream.

Always a pleasure, 2015-08-09
Captain: , Pittsburgh (513)

Have stayed here a few times and always find the staff and the facilities to be first class. Quiet but that's what we are after.

Quiet, well protected location, 2015-07-19
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6422)

Wind howling, but relatively calm behind the breakwater. The usual clean & roomy restrooms/showers. Helpful dock hands, but we did have to walk over to the fuel dock to register, not the main building - no big deal. Lots of places to walk your dog including gravel beach off old lighthouse trail. Docks & cleats in good conditon, 30/50 amp service at each pedestal. Restaurant, pizza, ice cream (2 places), all a short walk. If you want pizza on Friday / Saturday, best to plan ahead due to large carry-out business.

Gorgeous setting, nice walking path to the lighthouse, 2015-06-28
Captain: , Iuka, MS (1120)

Great north-woods feel. Clear, deep water. Not a place to provision, but a wonderful escape from the hubbub.

Captain: , LaSalle MI (575)

One of the prettiest setting on Lake Huron, two lighthouses within walking distance, great restaurant, nice facility, decent general store close by.

Everything is a little spiffier than last visit. Young staff that tries hard to make everyone happy. Ice cream at portage store is fantastic. Portage restaurant still good. Been coming here since 64, long before marina was here, and it gets nothing but better. No develpoment that ruins the peace and quiet.

Walked away from the lights this year to the point opposite the marina across the bay. 2.8 miles one way to a pretty park that welcomes transient boaters, an old cemetery, still active, with some interesting epitaths, walk passes several parks, monuments and points of interest. Take water, none available enroute.

Great marina in the wilderness, 2015-03-30
Captain: , ann arbor (120)

I grew up spening summers just down the road in the 1970s. At that time the marina was a long wooden pier. Today it's a fantastic marina with clean outstanding marinas, in the middle of a peninsula full of beaches and pines. You can't beat this place. We stop here on the way up/down from N Michigan. The stars, smell of pine and fresh water make for a wonderful time and great nights sleep.

Still a very nice marina, 2014-09-13
Captain: , Sandusky Oh (615)

A very easy clear entry, very snug from any winds from east to clear around from east to west and on to the south, good docks, good staff and a quiet location.

Great stop!, 2014-08-16
Captain: , Dunkirk, NY (79)

We stopped here both on the way to the North Channel and as a return point in the US on the way home. The staff was accomodating and the facilities were clean and well kept. The area is cottage country with 2 lighthouses to visit. There's a store across the street that has an amazing selection (and great ice cream) for its size!

Awesome stop , 2014-07-31
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1897)

We spent two nights here and loved it, the weather could have been warmer but it is Lake Huron .
The lighthouses were fun to visit and riding to town was fun.
Great little restaurant and one of our best stops.
Definitely a must stop especially with clear deep water 10' at slip, no weeds and great docks in a very well protected easy entry harbor .

Beautiful Setting, 2014-07-30
Captain: , Wilmington, De. (152)

Spent two nights here riding out a northerly. Peaceful setting with general store stocked with basic supplies.Did not eat at the restaurant, but seeemd to be popular with boaters and locals. Easy in and out, plenty of water for our 5'10" draft.

Great place to visit historic light houses, 2013-07-23
Captain: , Chicago, IL (160)

We sail a 42%u2019 sailboat with a 5%u201910%u201D draft. Entering harbor for the east follow the red markers with depths reading 6 - 7 feet. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice area to take a bike ride to the two light houses. Bikes proved free by the marina. The restaurant had reasonably good food.

Presque Isle Municipal Marina, 2013-01-10
Captain: , Leamington, Ontario (620)

The prettiest marina we were in last summer, 2012. Spent one night end of June, marina was pretty much empty. Lighthouse history was fun, clean water, clean facility...can't wait to return. Awesome ice cream right across the street!

Excellent marina, 2012-03-02
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

A really nice clean place to stay. Very helpful staff.
Will let you tie up for the day to go and see the lighthouse, for free, as long as they have empty slips and no arrivals.
Free loaner bikes across the street.

We stopped here to wait out some rough weather and discovered a delightful marina staff, gorgeous surroundings, a nice General Store and a realloy Good restaurant all right here on the premises. It is immaculately clean, and very very quiet. We had a delightful time here and would come back again and again anytime we happened to be passing through.

Nice facility, 2007-01-20
Captain: , Michigan (519)

Very nice setting in a remote area. Quiet, clean and well maintained. Limited facilities, only a small diner on site and variety store across the street.
Anchorage on the south end of the bay is very nice but not good with NE winds.
