Reviews for Postcard Inn Beach Resort and Marina at Holiday Isle
Holiday Isle Continues to Improve, 2016-10-08
Captain: , St Augustine (413)

Stayed here for three nights. The owners continue to improve the resort. Grass and coconut trees surround the marina, dog friendly. Nice view of the beautiful Keys water out to the Gulfstream.
Dockmaster Kat and her crew were very helpful.
Great Italian restaurant at the resort. Tiki bar done over, looks good.

Decrepit Docks, No Facilities for Transients, 2016-05-29
Captain: , Durango, CO (320)

This marina is primarily for resident sportfishing boats, dive boats, and rentals. We took a channel side slip for three nights in May 2016. The power pedestal was faulty, so we had to stretch shore power cables to the adjacent slip. The dock and finger pier were severly deteriorated with loose planks and pilings gone to less than 50% of original. The weather was calm, but we were routinely hit by large wakes of the sports and dive boats who carry their wakes right into the marina basin. No showers or laundry room for transients. The resort pools is good. Miles to the nearest grocery.
This would be a marina of last resort for us.

still no Tiki Bar, 2016-03-09
Captain: , Daytona Beach, FL. (90)

They continue to work on the resort. Great beach and restaurants. when they finish renovations should be a 4 or 5 star stop. bathrooms have been renovated but no showers. Pool is heated which was good since front moved through and dropped temps into the high 60's while we were in there february 27th.

Great surprise!, 2015-04-30
Captain: , Marco Island, FL (1145)

I love it here! Curis the dockhand is fantastic!!! We got fuel before docking and he fueled us, checked us in at the fuel dock and helped us tied up! Then we ventured to the pool to find that you can just use their stand up paddle boards, kayaks, floating peddle bikes and bicycles - all included in the price of your slip! I can't give it a 5 star since 2 of the pilings on our dock were missing - so tying up was interesting but it totally worked. I heard the new owners will be replacing the docks. This place will be amazing once that's done.
We will be stopping here on the way back!

New Owners, 2015-02-19
Captain: , Lake St. Clair (177)

The marina staff (Curis in particular - was always smiling) is trying!!! Many parts of the resort were under renovation...BUT THE VIEW & POOL & BEACH...breath taking! Rumor from live aboards was total marina renovation would keep them out next season. Should be amazing when complete!

nice marina, very shallow entrance, 2013-12-11
Captain: , Halifax Marina Daytona Beach (300)

entrance very shallow, stay on green side at first buoy, friendly staff, great pool area, restaurant "Shulas" on site, good protected marina, fuel dock a bit complicated

Great place to stop., 2013-11-11
Captain: , Bourne, Ma (230)

We spent two nights on their pier that is dedecated to restaraunt patrons. We had a starter motor problem but luckily had ordered a new one three days prior and had it delivered. Knowbody questioned our stay or asked why we were there. Music and tiki bar were great. If you have to be stranded why not here. They have diesel, gas, water, and pump out. where we docked it was abut 5 ft at low tide. I also noticed two sail boats anchored on the other side channel. While waiting for the starter we visited Theater by the Sea. This was about a 1/4 mile walk from the Post Card Inn or marina. The show was excellent.

Touristy place with poor restrooms, 2013-08-12
Captain: , Scituate, MA (195)

We took a 37' Moorings catamaran into the marina and had great help tying up to a slip at the end from John the dockmaster. Lots of bars and a nice motel with pool. Bathrooms are not so good as mentioned by others so we used the restaurants and motel or the boat.

The worst stop we have had in the Florida Keys, 2013-07-20
Captain: , Indian Rocks Beach (296)

The facility has been here for years, but we have never stayed here because of the touristy feel, but decided to give it a try. The staff is rude and too busy to help you do anything. Forget help tieing up. The slips are poorly maintained. Our catwalk has lose boards that pop up when you walk on it. The cable TV doesn't work and we had to try three power poles to find a 30 amp that worked.

But the shower facilities are the absolute worst we have ever encountered. One male and one female shower is available to all guests with no light or even a lock on the door. There is no bench or seat available to put your stuff on. But to top it off, the pump out boat empties right next door and the stench in the shower area is unbearable.

Skip this place all together!

It's fine, but not for those needing a latte, 2013-03-26
Captain: , Media, PA (137)

It's a servicable place with a nice manager (John) who worked with us to sort out some head issues. Pump out wasn't working, but he is going to insist on a new one (already to bid). The hotel staff were accomodating... no need to rent a room anymore, in fact, they will give you postcards and send them for free!

The docks were in good repair, there is a busy charter fleet operating out of the facility, and regular foot traffic to the "World Famous Tiki Bar" aforementioned. The gas dock was a bit short, but it worked for us (44' catamaran.) They gave us an outside slip.

Hoilday Isle, 2013-01-09
Captain: , Charleston (80)

Dockmaster is hospitable but none of her helpers is. The place is sort of crummy. Fuel dock is hazardous. Over 25 feet? Use lots of fenders. Theirs have been there since the turn of the century. Inn facilities are a bit better

If you are looking for a party crowd, 2012-08-29
Captain: , Atlanta, GA (291)

Decent place. A bit rundown, but most people coming here are coming for the party anyway. If you are looking for more authentic Keys experience this isn't your place, but if people watching is your thing, come on down!

Pretty much a DUMP, 2011-11-19
Captain: , Riviera Dunes Marina (60)

During our 8 day Keys trip we had the misfortune of staying in this marina 1 day and night. Absolutley the poorest condition of any of the 30+ marinas we have been to in Florida. The docks and the roof are rotten and literally falling apart. The restrooms were filthy and open to everyone. The rates were among the highest and we expected a lot more for our money. Also the most expensive fuel. Would highly recommend to avoid this dump.

Holiday Isle, 2011-02-21
Captain: , Greenville TX (580)

Very nice resort. They aren't really set up for sailboats too well however - the channel is narrow and shallow - only accessible at high tide. The fuel and pump out docks are in a narrow dock area and I don't think we'd fit in there at all - so haven't tried. Otherwise, relaxing, nice diving, nice shops nearby, good drinks and a very active beachfront. We'd definitely come again.

And, we did not have to reserve a room to stay at the marina for 4 days.

No dockage unless you rent a room, 2011-02-02
Captain: , Beaufort Morehead Yacht Club (221)

I called to inquire about overnight dockage. They would not let us dock unless we rented a room for the night.

Closing soon, 2010-03-03
Captain: , Key Largo (5457)

Was sold for condos but that has not happened.

Be warned. Loud bands play at nite at bar right at boat basin.
Kinda run down in 2010

ditto to the loud music, 2009-07-21
Captain: , ft myers beach (790)

can be fun if you are into the bar scene. weekend fun on the sandbar.

Famous Stop ??, 2009-05-28
Captain: , Tampa Bay (322)

Very much for the tourist

OK for a couple nights, 2008-02-04
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (103)

They don't seem to have put much into renovation. Serviceable docks with power, water, fuel. Security not in real evidence. Large fishing fleet. Noisy bars and alot of foot traffic on weekend nights.

Change of plans, 2007-04-23
Captain: , Ocala (7)

I was just there last week for one night while moving my boat to Key West. Dockmaster informed me that the condo deal is on indefinite hold. They did not pre-sell enough of the condos. She said they were now going to put the money into upgrading the facilities which they really need to do. I don't think anything has changed or been upgraded in 5 to 10 years. OK place if you are there with adults but not what I would call kid friendly.
