Reviews for Porto Turistico di Roma
Overview Feb 2012, 2012-02-23
Captain: , Castletown (255)

Clean and well run marina, open year round, no character though. plenty of surge with NE seas. various shops and restaurants but no provisions, for this you need to visit Ostia by bus (or 30 min walk). during winter fuel is only available certain days . Water and Electric included in berth cost but Wi-FI is charged for.

Surgy port, 2011-03-18
Captain: , Fremantle (1024)

The port is relatively new, well serviced and with many shops and restaurants.
All warfs are fixed concrete and there is not enough protection from swell coming through the entrance.
I was told (2010( that there iare plans to erect a much larger breakwater in front of the existing entrance, however until then, expect to be tossed back and forth by the surge that can get quite hard is there is a NE to SE swell.
There is nothing outside of the port, so you must get public transport to get to the centre of Ostia for nice shops, restaurants, pizzerias etc.
