Reviews for Port of Poulsbo
Port of Poulsbo, 2017-09-14
Captain: , Tacoma (90)

The Port of Poulsbo is very well protected, tucked way back at the end of Liberty Bay. It has a ton of guest moorage. We spent the night on Labor Day with no problem finding a slip. Guest slips are on a first come firts serve basis. Call or radio ahead to see if they have room, staff is frendly and will do what they can to find you a spot. Bathrooms are clean and the town is easly walkable.

Quaint Little Town, 2016-09-14
Captain: , Summerlin, NV (350)

Nice docks, but open to public access. Local kids fish from them and some odd folks with their unleashed dogs sniffed around the boats. Supposed to have wifi but only 1/2 way down F dock signal was far too weak to be of any use. Big clean restrooms with quarter operated showers. Great access to the quaint little town. Local market is stocked primarily with novelty foods so not a meaningful market, but we walked only about 1 mile to large Safeway store. Docking is on your own with no assistance available other than other boaters. This said we really enjoyed our stay.

Great place for the weekend!, 2016-08-29

A wonderful protected marina with a great city to boot! With the time to visit, easy docking on the public docks. Showers have been updated and are very nice!

arts festival weekend, 2014-08-20
Captain: , everett, wa (355)

We happened to be there during arts Festival weekend it was interesting. they were booths everywhere there was music there was a street dance where they closed off the street. The whole town was quite festive. of course along with that come crowds and parties. with all that going on it was still fairly quiet at night on the boat. as mentioned before there's something for everyone in Poulsbo.

Great Port!, 2013-12-04
Captain: , Seattle (313)

Poulsbo is about as good as it gets when crusing around Puget Sound. The facilities (shower, laundry) are right at the pier. The staff at the port is kind and knowledgable. Poulsbo is a plethora of shops, restaurants and fun hiking around. Not a port to miss!

Great overnight destination., 2013-11-10
Captain: , Gig Harbor, WA (32)

Previous reviews make the docks seem rundown, but I found them to be in decent shape. The marina is in a great location, right in downtown. Lots of resturants, coffee, book shops etc. Super cute little town. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay.

Poulsbo slipping behind, 2012-08-26
Captain: , Swantown Marina, Olympia, Wa (180)

Although the town of Poulsbo is charming, it appears to be showing the effects of a poor economy. The city docks need updating. The electrical connections show much use and wear. Although worth a visit, it will not be on the top of my list to re-visit.

Poulsbo Marina & Liberty Bay, 2012-08-15
Captain: , Seattle (396)

Great marina, and the 90 cents per foot includes power. Stayed 2 nights in marina and one anchored out. Don't miss the aquarium and Fish Park.

great little place to visit for the weekend, 2012-07-24
Captain: , North Lake Marina, Lake Washington (260)

we visited Poulsbo last summer (summer '09) and had a great experience. The transient mooring was quite ample; paying (and the rate) was convenient; access to downtown was simple and we got lucky and landed on a weekend where they were celebrating with parades and crafts downtown.
We returned again this year (July '12) and had a great time. Clean, excellent location, great neighbors.

Don't miss out on the maple bar man at the bakery.
I had issues with the free WiFi but that was probably my hardware and not them, and besides I am not there to be dinking around on the computer.

Playground for the kids to play at is a bit of a walk - much closer to the YC dock if that is something that you are looking for and have rights to use the dock there.

Great town, 2011-07-19

Poulsbo is a wonderful stop - we go there for the July 3rd fireworks celebrations every year. The town has a charm and aesthetic that is rare on the olympic peninsula. There are nice restaurants, bakeries and shops throughout.

Nice Place, 2011-05-24

We spent the weekend here over Viking Days. Nice shops, bars and places to eat. Restrooms were clean. I do wish they had paper towels in the restrooms. They just have blower type dryers, which are hard to dry the face with.

Always enjoyable, 2011-03-26
Captain: , San Diego, CA (1239)

I've been to Poulsbo twice now. The first time was with Milltown Sailing Association for one of our mothly cruises. We were set up at the dock all together. We rented the heated floating dockhouse for our club dinner and get together. Payment is accepted at the bottom of the dock ramp in the small booth. The bathrooms ashore are located close by up the ramp.
In the summer we visited on the 3rd of July to watch the fireworks show. The dinghy dock was packed and the marina full so we anchored out.
A cute town with nice shops and restaurants to check out. Electric and sailboat rentals are available near the marina. A place in Washington that's definately worth checking out.

Always a fun stop, 2010-12-27

It's worth the stop if only for the bakeries! Nice slips and ammenities. The town is what makes it enjoyable.

Great weekend spot, 2009-09-12
Captain: , Seattle, WA (437)

Easy trip over from Seattle. Nice docks with plenty of places to eat in town. Nice book store and quilt fabric store.

The marina can be busy in the summer with rendezvous and other events, so call or check online.

The diesel prices are also often the lowest in the area.

Fine facilities provide gateway to sweet destination, 2009-07-15
Captain: , Seattle (250)

The guest docks are plentiful and spacious, docks well maintained, and facilities clean and secure. You are literally in the heart of the town, with a wealth of walkable options for food and exploration. We particularly enjoyed Sogno Di Vino on Front St. Great pizza and retail wine opened at your table. Nice fire pit tables on the patios.

Sluys Bakery, JJ's Fish House, THAT'S-A-SOME ITALIAN RESTAURANT, 2009-04-11
Captain: , Paradise Valley, AZ (572)

Delicious pastries and other baked goods at Sluy's. They have things you'd expect like cinnamon rolls and almond butter horns, and then they have other yummy baked goods . Sluy's Bakery alone justifies a visit to Poulsbo. JJ's Fish House, right across the aprking lot from the marina entrance. JJ's is a casual place on the back side of Front Street, looking towards the waterfront. In summer you can sit outside. Good food, try the clam chowder and the mussels. THAT'S-A-SOME ITALIAN RESTAURANT, excellent food every time we have been there. Also very convenient to the marina, across the parking lot.

Quaint part of town nearby, 2007-12-04
Captain: , Tropical Tip of Texas (145)

The marina had plenty of transient slips when we visited in August '07. Power and water. Nice park just off the docks, good restaurants and shops very close by.

Great marina, if you don't feel like anchoring out for some reason., 2007-11-03
Captain: , Seattle, Wa. (312)

Lots of transient moorage available on E and F docks. Summer Weekends get pretty busy though. But they are typically wide open in the "off" season.

Nice marina, 2007-09-23
Captain: , Olympia (1435)

Plenty of transient moorage. I found the transient moorage slips very narrow. Close in walk to stores and restaurants.
