Reviews for Port of Kingston
updated 8/2016 We stay here often, 2016-08-03
Captain: , everett, wa (275)

Friendly place with all the amenities. This place is immaculately maintained. The grocery store is up the hill about a mile or slightly less. Standard supermarket for our area. Now two courtesy cars are free to use and helps if you need to carry groceries. Just before the grocery store is an Ace Hardware store, a theater, and a few fast food places. Now close to the marina is Westside Pizza and a new taco place. the pizza is great. In the summer get reservations if you need a slip. We noticed plenty of slips when thunder storms are in the forecast.

Port of Kingston, 2015-04-05
Captain: , Tacoma (60)

This Marina is city owned and well taken care of. The city of Kingston will take reservations for dockage but your fees will not be refunded if you cancel. What they will do if you cancel your reseervations is issue you a credit for future dockage. The Marina has a narrow channel for entry but is well marked. It has great access to the city itself. All and all this is a great spot.

convenient guest moorage, 2014-11-13
Captain: , Ellensburg (41)

free for 2 hours, so a great place to stop in and grab some food a 5 minute walk away. Watch for crab pots on the way in and out.

great little marina we didn't know about, 2014-07-23
Captain: , North Lake Marina, Lake Washington (260)

we only visited at the recommendations of [boating] friends ... wow, so glad we did. Easy to access, great little town to check out, decent marina facilities, and one of the better prices for fuel in Puget Sound. The marina has an Electric GEM cart to be used for paying guests to take up the hill to the grocery store (.8 miles) or jaunt around town. We will definitely be back.

This place is fantastic, 2014-01-31
Captain: , Channel Islands, California (1149)

We stopped here to visit some friends. The marina staff were exceptional. The facilities are all modern and very nicely maintained. They even have a courtesy vehicle. The location is very convenient and supplies/provisions are close by. Kingston is a very quaint little town with lots to offer any cruiser.

All around good marina, 2014-01-28
Captain: , Seattle (30)

Came into Kingston to get diesel and pump out. First, the fuel dock attendant was really a great help. He was there when we arrived, helped us dock and was very pleasant to talk to (sunny, warm day in Seattle in January %uF04A). The price per gallon was better than most places around the Sound. The docks were nice with the WA State Ferry terminal directly behind the docks. It can get a bit loud during ferry departures.

You are within easy walking distance of several great food options though there is no grocery store nearby that we could find.

One thing to be aware of is that as you come into the marina, the entrance is very tight with shallows on both sides and as you go down the fairway, there is a slight left turn midway down that can get tight when two boats are passing.

Well run Marina, 2013-05-08
Captain: , SV Kairos, Eagle Harbor, Bainbridge Is. WA (233)

The Port of Kingston is backed with a pile of cash and it shows. They earn leasing fees from the WA State Ferries. It is nice to see that they put the money right back into the marina. It is very nice, clean, with good facilities. Will go back.

Nice Guest Slips, 2013-04-24
Captain: , Liberty Bay Washington (400)

Spent three nights here in a guest slip. Had made previous reservations and staff was great. Not much for places to eat breakfast but great lunch and dinner locations.

Kingston Anchoring Out, 2012-08-15
Captain: , Seattle (365)

Anchored out fine in about 20' of water outside the breakwater. I suggest a stern anchor to keep your bow pointed toward the ferry terminal to minimize rolling.

Nice Well Used, 2012-07-21
Captain: , Port Orchard, WA (292)

Very clean great staff. Get there early to get a guest slip.

Free Moorings at Kingston WA, 2011-10-19
Captain: , Port Townsend, WA (60)

There are several cost-free moorings just North and East of the ferry dock, recommended for boats 35' LOA or less. You are allowed to stay a maximum of 5 days on the buoys. Watch depth as you approach. Protection from NW and N weather, not so much for S and SW. Ferry noise and wake tolerable. Check out the Creperie just outside the ferry waiting lot.

good guest facilities, 2011-04-15
Captain: , Seattle (373)

This is a spot most people pass right by, but it is worth a stop. Good services, and a great restaurant

Great fuel prices, 2011-04-11
Captain: , Seattle (690)

We've made this a regular fuel stop, some of the best fuel prices in the area. Nice marina behind a good breakwater. Fuel dock is easy to get in and out of.

My second port, 2011-03-23
Captain: , San Diego, CA (1239)

This is the 2nd closest marina to Everett, WA. The staff is friendly, Free Wi-Fi worked great and bathroom facilities were clean and the showers hot. Ice cream and beer are within a 5 minute walk.

Great Stay, 2010-08-26
Captain: , Freeport, ME (255)

We spent one evening at this marina and it was very quiet and peaceful. There were plenty of restaurants next to the marina and a great ice cream place. The breakwater provides plenty of protection from waves and the ferry.

Pleasant Marina, 2009-08-12
Captain: , Seattle (250)

We enjoyed our stay here. The breakwater provides good shelter - never felt the ferries coming or going. Nice clean facilities and pleasant staff, with a nice little park adjacent to the marina. They even have an electric car registered visitors can use to run up to the market.

The small downtown cater to the folks wating in line for the next WSF, and offers a decent variety of food to dine out or take back to the boat. We love J'aime les Crepes Creperie - featuring savory (meal) and sweet (dessert) options.

The beach was closed for construction/maintenance when we were there, but the public fishing pier was active.

Reciprocal Mooring, 2009-04-11
Captain: , Paradise Valley, AZ (572)

Kingston Cove Yacht Club has two reciprocal slips for participating Yacht Club members available on a first come first served basis. They are the slips closest to shore. Electric cart available free for marina guests.Great fish and unusual chips at the pub closest to the water, the Main Street Ale House.

Great family and weekend destination from Seattle, 2008-08-01
Captain: , Seattle (106)

Well-maintained marina with manicured city park. Saturday market in season from 10-2. Nice public beach north of ferry terminal with easy pedestrian access from marina across ferry holding lot. Clean restrooms and showers. Showers are best deal in Puget Sound at 0.25 for 3.5 minutes. Free wi-fi via "POK" network, no password needed.

Great marina, 2007-08-26
Captain: , Olympia (1435)

Nice friendly marina. Be sure to call in advance though to reserve a slip, if not can be dicey if on popular weekends there will be room or not. Great restaurants nearby, try Bella Luna and the Morgan's Special pizza for a real treat.
