Reviews for Port of Gialos
Lovely Symi, 2015-07-18
Captain: , Green Cove Springs FL (258)

Harbor is small, busy with ferry traffic and occassional cruise ship. Well protected from the meltemi. The harbormaster ("The Mooiring Man") directed us to a berth and assisted with lines. This is a convenient port of entry into Greece. No power or water hookups, or lazy lines. Town is pretty and has groceries, bakeries etc. Wifi available in nearby tavernas. Scenic hiking up through the town. Very photogenic harbor. Shops, groceries, bakeries.

Busy, busy port, 2015-05-12
Captain: , Orust (1863)

No service. water and electricity was not working. Line handlers charge 5 € for doing ? then another 7 € for the berth. it is till cheap! town is well worth a visit. Another alternative is to anchor in Pedi and take the bus.

Busiest harbour in town!, 2014-09-07
Captain: , Swanwick UK (515)

In early September, this port was completely jammed - it is quite small and there were several ferry boats, a cruise ship and numerous day trip boats almost blocking in all the yachts - even at lunch time there were only a few spaces left. Not a place to go if you are claustrophobic!

good stop-over, 2013-03-14

March 2013 Early season , tied up alongside - found excellent welder to fix our exhaust - very pleasant stop-over , anchorage a bit rolly for us

Hafen meist voll, Schner Ort, Herbst 2012, 2013-02-11
Captain: , Konstanz (258)

Pretty municipal port, 2012-05-04

Gialos is a port of entry for Greece.
Here you can complete entry formalities expecially if you come from Turkey.
Very friendly immigration, custom and coast guard officials.
Nice "mooring men" in orange shirts will call you and direct to a 'stern to' berth.
