City of Chaumont centre 2 km up the hill. An interesting city to explore. A must see railway viaduct over the valley, can walk across on the pedestrian level.

Reviews for Port de la Maladiere
Nice place to stay, 2015-10-30

Good capitainerie, and nice area around the quay. Almost killed myself biking up the hill to town. Veny nice town indeed, but I think I will use the Langres method next time, and take that taxi.

Very nice small city stop, 2015-06-23
Captain: , Fort Collins, CO (492)

Nice stop with electricty and water. About 10 Euros plus shower 2.50 and laundry4.50.
Nice littlee city. Walk up a very steep hill. If you take a bike, you will be pushing it up. Not quite as old and historic as Langres, but definitely worth a day to see old buildings, churches, dungeon and museum. Shopping and restaurants. Great views of the valley below.

What previous review said plus free Wi-Fi in Captainerie, 2014-08-06

The only flaw is that the Wi-Fi does not reach the docks. Main town is a good hike up the hill, but provisioning at LeClerc is pretty convenient.

Captain: , St. Jean de Losne, France - home Guelph,ON, Canada (7946)

The harbour master (lady) very pleasant and helpful. Good facilities in a good location.
Easy walk or bicycle ride along towpath to large plaza for major shopping with large and small stores plus fuel.
City is well worth a day or two to explore.
Over D674 bridge and on the left a short distance up hill is an uphill path that leads to the city through woods.
