Reviews for Port de Plaisance Bar-le-Duc
Great town, average mooring, 2016-08-08
Captain: , Washington DC (3034)

The two towns (upper and lower) of Bar-le-Duc are terrific. While the mooring is a little rough around the edges, the locals who came to drink were not disrespectful at all, in fact were quite friendly. Camping cars share the area, but are not allowed to plug in to electricity. Half the bollards on the quay are broken or loose, but you can sink pins into the shrubbery. Great shade and picnic tables.
Reported prices are all over the map; what we experienced in July 2016 was 1.10 euros per day for parking and water (yes, that's ONE euro ten cents), plus 6.40 euro per day for electricity.
Per previous review, there is train and road noise, but the terrific town makes up for that in my opinion. Plus, B-le-D has excellent train connections to the rest of the world.

The location of the port is not good, across canal from busy road and behind is the busy railway lines and station. However the location is convienient to the city for exploration.
The high town walking tour was more interesting than the low town walking tour. Certainly worth a one day stop.
