Reviews for Port Washington Marina
Comfortable marina, 2017-08-31
Captain: , Mobile (40)

Nice boaters lounge, clean restrooms and showers. Restaurants and bars closeby. Friendly, helpful dock attendants. Pumpout $6 - no longer free to transients with fuel fill-up.

Great Stop, 2017-08-09
Captain: , Corpus Christi (406)

Spent one night here on the way south - good facilities in great shape and well maintained - helpful staff. Would have stayed longer if we had the time. Did not go into town but restaurants and bars are close.

Enjoyable town but the help needs some experience., 2017-06-27
Captain: , Greenport, NY (437)

We really enjoy the town and would encourage travelers to check it out. The marina is in pretty good shape and the walking paths around the harbor and adjacent parks are very nice. Some other boaters and us were surprised when we were assigned wall space in the inner basin instead of slips in the marina. The wall spaces are fine but there is a constant parade of people walking by and peering in to the boat. Also, the Harbor staff is clearly very fresh. The have no idea how to help with lines when docking and they really need to learn how to take instructions from the boat owner when they can't get it right.

I'll be back..., 2017-06-19
Captain: , St Louis (320)

This was my first time in Port Washington. The staff is outstanding and they met us at the dock to assist us. The docks are in great shape, they have multiple showers and bathrooms, laundry, and a lot of shops and restaurants within walking.
Water depth wasn't an issue for us, we need 7'.
The town is fantastic. Mostly older structures that have been restored to a high standard, and the people were very friendly and interested in our voyage.
Port Washington is also the home of Sailing Magazine.

Great marina, great stay, 2016-10-12
Captain: , Chicago (40)

Really great place to stay, friendly and very accomodating staff, good facilities, everythig you could want as a transient. Nice package.
The town is cute too, nice places to walk too, and plenty of options for food.

Port Washington Marina, 2016-07-25
Captain: , Milwaukee (122)

Friendly staff, clean facilities, many restaurants, stores and bars to walk to. Very nice walkable village.

Nice, adequate marina, helpful staff, 2016-07-24
Captain: , Milwaukee (100)

Made a quick stop to gas up for our continued run down to Milwaukee. Staff at gas dock very helpful and efficient. We then tied up at the guest dock across from gas dock to grab some lunch in town. They promote free tie up for 3 -4 hours. Some of these docks are pretty beat up and have several significant lag bolts protruding from missing boards on dock face, could cause major hull damage if you are not paying attention. Very busy boat launch right in the middle of everything. THe town is OK but the public places are in need of a little cleaning up. Main street is seeing continuing redevelopment, but the selection of shops is a mix of professional services and normal retail. Nice bike shop, Zuzu pedals. Marginal anchoring potential here with the small outer harbour area and busy fishing boat traffic and breakwater fishermen. Fair weather only for sure.

Neat Little Town, 2015-06-26
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (1234)

Staff we very accomodating. We received a UPS package here and an attendant brought it to our slip - now that's service! Facilities kept up. Grills available to residents / guests. A great downtown - be sure to visit Bernie's Fine Meats for jerky, summer sausage, other fine treats.

Nice Stop on way to Chicago, 2014-09-16
Captain: , Green Cove Springs FL (1394)

Visited 9-13-14 Very actice Marina for small boat fishermen. We had a nice T-Head on end of Dock #1 However the requested 50 amp was on Dock 4, but the two 30amps work on our 50 amp cord with Hubbell Smart Box no Problem. Lounge and rest rooms adequate and clean. They fly the American Flag at the top of flag pole WRONG as it is a Gaff Rigged Pole. Place to Honor our American Flag is flying it from the GAFF. Girl on desk did not have
a clue when asked if there were any other "Looper Boats" in the
Marina but they had a AGLCA Sponsor Ship on the Wall. Pleasant stay. I hope they get with the program and start to fly our countries Flag in the proper location on the Flag Pole and educate those who are putting it up. Cheif Engr Bob, Onboard ALLEZ! MT50, AGLCA, MTOA, USPS, USCG-ARCt

Well run and helpful marina, 2014-09-11
Captain: , Grand Haven, MI (684)

Port Washington is a great destination, with shopping and eateries close. We arrived 9/03/14 and stayed for a couple of days due to weather. Staff met us at the dock and plenty of people came to help into the slip. The showers are a little older but were clean and well kept. Laundry was $0.50 a load and dryers $0.25. The machines are a little older also but did a good job.
We would have stayed longer but obligations made us move on.

Just a quick overnight stop, 2014-09-09
Captain: , Nowhere,OK (1314)

Floating docks are huge! Very stable and the double bulkheads means very little wave actioon in the basin.

Nice washrooms good enough for a quick shower.

We ate 100 yards away at New Port Shoals. Would like to come back some day and see the town.

Nice basic marina, 2014-08-28
Captain: , Massapequa,NY (1176)

Good marina close to town with plenty of restaurants. Good place to stop when the lake kicks up

Fish Day - 7/19/2014, 2014-07-23
Captain: , Green Bay, WI (480)

Another great place to spend a weekend. Fireworks from the best view in town - aft boat. John's has great pizza and Schooners Pub is a must (the upper deck has a great view of the marina). A great staff, great facilities and a really nice place to stay.

New Docks (floating) enhance a good stop, 2014-07-05
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

Stopped 07-05-14 and was greeted by 3 dock hands eager to assist. Fuel was a great price $3.81 for diesel valvetec. Best price since Detroit.

Great stop, friendly town, 2014-06-30
Captain: , LaSalle MI (618)

Nice marina, reasonable, clean. Recomend Tellos for lunch or dinner. Casual but great food. Nice fish store for fresh and smoked fish.

Great littel marina and town, 2014-03-17
Captain: , Milwaukee (651)

We try and spend a weekend in this port every year. The faciilites now that they are renovated are great.
Sad to see they have cacled pirate fest, indefinetly.
Lots of bars and places to eat a short walk away, and the butcher shop is very good (little pricey but worth it)

Nice town, cheap diesel, 2013-02-06
Captain: , Lakeside Yacht Club (250)

Book ahead, especially during events such as fish days. Slips are somehwta limited at peak times. Town is right across form the marina. Decent food at the Port Washington Hotel. Great Mexican at Beanies.
Lots of fishing boats at the harbor entrnce.

Port Washington Marina, 2012-10-21
Captain: , Milwaukee, Wi. (798)

Nice marina, right in town with resturants and stores within 1 block of walking distance.

Where we bought our boat, 2012-10-14
Captain: , Evanston (50)

We bought our boat in Port Washington, and were only there for a night, but the facilities seemed reasonable (basic) and its proximity to town (a really classic small midwestern town) made it a good place.

Very Friendly Place, 2012-08-18
Captain: , Cincinnati (1810)

This marina is new with very nice facilities from docks to shower/rest rooms with security gates on docks. Located right in the heart of the small town. The people on our dock, we were here for three weeks, were very friendly. We went home for 2 weeks and even got called, by nieghbor who had our card, while home b/c we left a window open and a storm was coming.

Outstanding stop, 2012-07-10
Captain: , Maryland Heights, MO (314)

A very nice marina in an outstanding location. Lots of restaurant options within walking distance in a very picturesque downtown. Good wifi reception in harbor. Excellent restrooms and showers.

Foggy but nice, 2012-04-05
Captain: , indiana (331)

Every time we go to the Port it is foggy. The marina is very nice and facilities are clean. Usually very cheap fuel.

Nice harbor, nice town., 2011-10-13
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1896)

Stayed on the inner wall, nice location; a lot of good restaurants. Diesel was $3.68 on 9-23-11, price is important with 2000 gal capacity.

Very nice town, 2011-09-25
Captain: , Fort Myers, FL (141)

We had a great stay in late September.

Nice Harbor, Nice Town, 2011-07-27
Captain: , Chicago, IL, USA (840)

This place is great. Very clean, solid docks, new everything, quiet and secure harbor. Office and fuel dock was open and fully staffed from 4 AM (!) until 9 at night. Here's the bonus; Port Washington has a great downtown area with all kinds of shops and restaurants, and the harbor is only two short blocks away. This should be on your "must stop" list.
Only advise is to request two keys at check in, as the restrooms and dock gates use the same key.

Port Washington, 2011-07-13
Captain: , Lake in The Hills, Illinois (542)

The staff was friendly and helpful. WiFi is non-existent due to lack of antennas, although staff will tell you they have free Wifi. Town is very close with numerous small shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Port Washington, Wisconsin, 2011-03-09
Captain: , Macataw, MI (435)

A great target if you are coming across the lake from the MI side. Good restaurants within walking distance. Friendly people.

Very nice marina and town, 2010-10-11
Captain: , Newport, RI (10275)

This is virtually a new marina as the facilities were recently rebuilt. The docks and bathrooms are supurb. The town is delightful with lots of nice shops and restuarants.

Great Stop, 2010-07-27
Captain: , Cheboygan, MI (80)

Really enjoyed our overnight stay here. New floating docks and pleasant staff. The town is only 2 blocks from the marina.

The diesel price pays for the overnight dockage. On July 27, 2010 it was $2.83 per gallon, that is $0.90 less than it was in Racine.

New Marina for 2010, 2010-03-11
Captain: , Port Washington, WI (30)

The new marina, with floating docks, floating fuel pier and in-slip pumpouts, is almost complete. The official opening date is May 1, 2010. The north slips will be available in April.

A Well Run Marina, 2007-07-12
Captain: , Winthrop Harbor, IL (60)

This place is always a good first stop from our home port in Illinois. Fixed docks (not my favorite) with dock height nearly 30 inches above the caprail on our trawler. Older facility, but clean and well maintained. Locals on docks very friendly and sharing.
Pick to click restaurant is New Port Shores a very short walk just north of the marina. Many other restaurants and shops in town, a short (mile or less) walk from the marina.
