Reviews for Port Tarpon Marina
Good and bad, 2016-11-14
Captain: , Wilmington,NC (290)

Good: nice docks; excellent on-site restaurant; deep water
Bad: Not near town, restrooms, shower shared with restaurant. Had two slip assignment changes at the last minute. Was told we would be at the end of the fuel dock. As we were coming in told that there was a change and we would be in a covered slip. As we headed toward the covered slip, the woman in the office waved at us (they don't seem to use the radio) and told us to go to another slip. This meant backing in because it was a short side slip. The woman left but then a guy from the fuel dock helped grab our lines. After he tied the stern lines, we were in the process of trying to loop the bow lines around the high pilings, the woman from the office came out and hollered at the guy to get back to the fuel dock and then hollered at us that we had to tie up our own boat by ourselves. Well the guy had tied the stern lines such that we couldn't get off the boat onto the finger pier. We had to cry out to people several slips away to come and loosen the stern line. To his credit, the guy from the fuel dock came by later to check on us but the woman from the office was rude to him and to us.

Great Marina and Staff, 2016-07-27
Captain: , St. Marks, FL (10)

On a return trip from Cortez, FL to Shell Point, FL my boat's and autopilot compass failed and alternator began to fail. I considered making the crossing to St. Marks (about 100 miles) without repairing them but as I was single-handing I decided to see it I could get the repair parts in Tarpon Springs. After anchoring out near Anclote Key overnight I decided get some fuel and I limped into Tarpon Port Marina. While paying for the fuel I mentioned that I had some mechanical problems and asked if I could tie-up for a couple of hours and try to chase down the parts I needed. The lady behind the counter said yes as long as I wasn't blocking the fuel dock. As it happened one of the lift operators "Chris" was picking up his paycheck and said he would give me a hand by driving me around to a few places. Over the next three hours we went to several parts places finally tracking down a rebuilt alternator and the flux-gate compass I needed. His local knowledge helped a great deal. I also had an opportunity to eat in the on site restaurant and talk with some other staff. I can't say enough positive things about their hospitality and helpfulness.

Made a safety stop after dark, 2015-11-24
Captain: , Michigan City, IN (828)

We arrived in the channel just as night fell, after a rough Gulf crossing. We started calling marinas (via phone and VHF) around 4pm with no responses. Friends in a similar situation had pulled up to the fuel dock at Point Tarpon and offered to let us raft to them. Neither boat hooked up water or electricity. Staff (forklift operator) on site when first boat pulled up said he was %u201Coff duty,%u201D held up his beer, walked away, offering no assistance or information. We spoke to marina staff first thing in the morning, apologized for tying up without permission and thanked them. Both boats were charged $1 foot %u201Cboat in distress discount.%u201D

The owner of Davidson's Dockside (on site) restaurant came out to let us know they were open. All of their staff there was very friendly and the food good.

Great food and helpful people, 2015-08-23
Captain: , Gun Barrel City, Tx (67)

The staff at the marina was friendly and helpful. Across the parking lot is Seebird Custom Marine Canvas. Erick and Debbie are fantastic. They did some great work in a short time and very reasonably priced. Their number is (727) 938-7152. We also got ome very reasonably priced diesel generator work from DNA Marina Services. They were able to shuffle their schedule and get out to see us the day after we called. Justin's number is (727) 798-3361.

As mentioned before, the food at the cafe there is wonderful.

Fixed pier with 3 ft tides so tie up accordingly.

Great Food, 2015-04-23
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (675)

Very nice Marina. Very friendly folks who try to help in any way they can. Restaurant is great with a full seafood menu. Spent two nights here waiting for weather to cross the Gulf. Great folks. Please tell the waitress at the restaurant,Brittany, that we said hello. Go you will enjoy it.
Second stay here on 17 April 15. Restaurant food is still great. All above still applies. Rode bikes to Tarpon springs proper. Easy short trip. Fuel prices are really high.

Great Marina with covered slips, 2014-06-23
Captain: , Tarpon Springs (250)

Marina is a very boater friendly spot with great staff always willing to go the extra mile to help out. On premises restaurant has good menu and live music on the deck on weekends. Good access to marine services on the property.

Good Service, 2014-02-04
Captain: , Everett, Washington (824)

Our boat was trucked here based on a recommendation. George's Boat Yard did a good job on the bottom paint and was willing to work a long day on Saturday when the weather delayed the work. Though the boat yard advertised that is closes on Sunday, the on-site supervisor allowed us in to finish projects. The fuel price was competitive and the food at the restaurant was surprisily good with a good selection of beer.

Here for service - enjoyable., 2013-12-24
Captain: , Sanford, FL (657)

Spending about three or four weeks here for new canvas and enclosures on the fly bridge and back deck. View of the river is excellent. Restaurant has great food and drinks. We happened to be in one ofthe covered docks at the end, as such, we were subject to the wakes of passing commercial and recreational boaters, even though it is a no wake zone. There are several service companies on site including Seebird Canvas, who is doing our refitting. There is an electronics shop as well and several general maintenance firms. Athena and Alex in the office are very friendly and knowledgable and helpful. Only drawback to live aboards is no pump out.

Very good marina for High & Dry, 2013-09-28
Captain: , Port Tarpon Marina (31)

I had my 18' cc here for 3 years. Only reason I moved was to have the boat closer to my home. Nice marina with a great staff. Athena in the office is the best! Roof on one of the barns needs replacement due to dropping rust. Other than that a nice place for power boaters.

Price was high for what you get, 2012-12-07
Captain: , Athens, AL (641)

This is a nice marina but high at $2/ft for what you get. We called around after a very rough crossing from Carrabelle and none of the other marinas had anything available that would work for us. They put us on the fuel dock right on the channel, which makes you susceptible to passing boats that ignore the NO Wake restrictions. Also, there is nothing else close by except service shops which we didn't need, and all things Tarpon Springs are across the river about a mile and a half away. The marina gave us a voucher for the local taxi service which is an agreement for the taxi to only charge $5 but the charge was only $7 so it only saves you a couple of bucks. The on-site restaurant served us a good breakfast and the restrooms/showers were very clean.

Great Marina, 2012-09-29
Captain: , Gulfport, FL (80)

Friendly staff whether in the restaurant or at the fuel dock.

Cleveland Diesel & Yacht Maint, 2011-09-25
Captain: , Pensacola (449)

This rating is applicable only to the service business which is located next to the Port Tarpon Marina and accessible directly via their docks. (Note that you can also get to them via the Anclote Harbors Marina next door.) We have used them for work on our ZF transmission as well as CAT engines and found them to be very responsive and knowledgeable. We thought that their rates were reasonable -- and also that they were considerate in keeping the area clean etc.

Good Fuel Stop, 2011-02-17
Captain: , Fayetteville, Arkansas (671)

Stopped here for a fuel up before the crossing to Carabelle. Great staff, friendly people, and help at the fuel dock.

Friendly Staff, 2010-10-11
Captain: , Tarpon Springs, FL (30)

The staff is more than helpful and that counts for a lot because I am a single boater. I would like to see the Restraunt have more menu items than sandwiches.

Port Tarpon Marina, 2010-03-17
Captain: , Huntsville, Al (30)

Friendly personnel but transient spaces are on face dock just off the channel. Restaurant has closed and they only have sandwiches.
