Reviews for Port Orchard Marina
Generally Comfortable, 2016-09-14
Captain: , Summerlin, NV (350)

Nice staff, but docking is on your own. Clean and plentiful restrooms and free showers. Wifi offered but still no meaningful/usable internet access. Public has access to the guest docks from 7 am - 10 pm which led to some questionable characters walking by but no problems noted outside of one suddenly very aggressive dog. Quaint town but unfortunately it has little to offer and can easily be walked in 30 minutes since many stores are closed. But, get a truly wonderful "expresso milkshake" from The Coffee Oasis nearby the marina - a "must stop" if you like that sort of thing.

Nice place, 2016-08-19
Captain: , everett, wa (275)

This is an older marina, but we'll maintained. The gate is locked at night but you get an access code. it's located right in the old part of downtown. There are no nearby groceries that we could find, but bus service is nearby. There is also a foot ferry that runs frequently between there and Bremerton. If you get a chance, one of those foot ferries is a well maintained antique (by itself is worth the ride.) there are picnic tables (some in the shade) flowers, free showers, and laundry next to the restrooms. This marina and Port of Bremerton are run by the same people. Wifi is also free and unlike some marinas it works

A Great Stay, 2016-06-27
Captain: , Anacortes Washington (45)

This is a very nice marina. The restrooms and showers are very nice and clean and the showers are included with the moorage. There are places nearby for kids to play and plenty of good dog walks. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the small town seems to get more interesting on each visit.

Uneasy water front characters, 2015-06-26
Captain: , Ellensburg, WA (72)

The facilities are acceptable and the staff friendly. The waterfront seems to seems to attract some very shady characters making us feel a bit uncomfortable. Local resident inform us of big drug problems in and around the water front.

A Secret Gem in Town, 2014-07-14
Captain: , Tacoma, WA (205)

The Western Washington Center for the Arts is a casual and intimate 59-seat theater just south of the marina (towards the yacht club) - an easy walk. Closed during the summer season (May 31 until first week in August), the theater puts on some great shows and at very cheap prices (like $10 for seniors). Great entertainment diversion from boating routine and a an excellent addition to any boating club's itinerary at Port Orchard.

Great Guest Moorage & A Hiden Gem, 2014-04-12
Captain: , Port Orchard (10)

Friendly staff, cheap fuel, and extensive guest dockage. Excelent for rendezvous or casual get together with friends. The greatest discovery whas the Bay St. Bistro across the street - Excelent! One of the best meals this food-snob has found on this side of the water.

Great Marina, 2013-06-06
Captain: , Port Isabel TX (640)

Marina is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The guest docks are extensive with a new area at the end for BBQs and meetings. Fine dog area and parks at shoreside. Security on the docks could be a bit better as we had skateboarders and bicycles both nights. A long list of dont's for boaters is posted, but none for the general public that must have access because of funding. We had an excellent dinner at Amy's on the Bay, but the rest of downtown has very little going for it. Lots of interesting shops that may warrant a look, but the smokers and skateboarders littering the sidewalks make shopping and walking about unpleasant. Good shopping though, is available two miles away from the marina. If you are not a strong walker, the marina manager will offer to give you a ride to the center that has a nice Albertson's.

Excellent marina, 2013-04-13
Captain: , seattle (20)

The staff are very friendly and helpful. We've stored our boat here in the winter (it's covered and 1/2 the cost of moorage in Seattle). Don't forget to hop on the foot ferry to Bremerton and check out the sights over there. Lots to see.

5 star for gas price, 2012-08-19
Captain: , North Lake Marina, Lake Washington (260)

we didn't stay as the town isn't worth staying overnight (in our opinion) due to low items of interest. However, the gas prices are really good and the service was very friendly at the pumps.

This destination is improving, 2012-07-11
Captain: , Seattle (51)

I have been coming here for years. The facilities and staff have always been great. The reason I say the destination is improving is primarily in town and the proximity to Bremerton-which has greatly improved. There is a fun Saturday market and a new bakery, which will rival Poulsbo. The movie theater is now open and the town is working hard to improve. Try it again if you haven't in a while. You'll see the changes.

Great Marina, 2011-08-03

Very clean Marina including showers and toilet facilities. Great staff, very friendly and helpfull. Large guest area and dock for parties and meetings.

Awesome staff, 2011-07-19
Captain: , Seattle, WA (577)

Loved the staff - were very helpful when we reserved a moorage for July 4th weekend. They held our reservation and gave us lots of advice for things to do in town.

The town itself was a bit depressed - many closed storefronts showing the brunt of the difficult economy. The people are very friendly and we did find a couple of good restaurants. Our 4 year old loved taking the ferry to Bremerton.

Top Notch Place, 2011-07-14
Captain: , Corvallis, OR (20)

We spent a couple of nights here after launching at the ramp just to the west. Everything worked well, the people were friendly and helpful, the marina was quiet and easy to use. Local facilities are close by.

There are lower rates for mooring on the outside breakwater. The inner slips seem to have good protection, probably justifying the higher price. We stayed there.

If you want to leave a car and trailer at the ramp, talk to the Marina office. Parking is free if you are staying at the Marina, and low cost otherwise. The lot is not huge, but not crowded when we were there. Call ahead, as it probably is different when salmon (or something) are being caught.

Next door is the little Kitsap Foot Ferry to Bremerton (not WSF). It's fun to go over for a few hours, or for a meal. In Bremerton, it lands next to the big ferry.

Several downtown Port Orchard restaurants seem to be struggling, so maybe visiting boaters can provide them some business. Check it out.

Great Marina, 2011-05-25
Captain: , Gig Harbor (134)

This marina is operated by the Port of Bremerton. The staff is very friendly. Another great marina for a club rendezvous with a large party area with barbeques. The fuel dock is near the shore on the westbreakwater and has pumpout facilities.

Well run marina, 2010-12-25
Captain: , Sequim, WA (676)

Port Orchard and Bremerton Marina are under the same overall ownership and management. Very anxious to make you happy and perhaps secure your long term moorage business. Numerous deals to be had. Nice facilities, nice people.

Fine facilities and friendly, enthusiastic staff, 2009-08-21
Captain: , Seattle (250)

The guest moorage offers breakwater and slip options, generous fairways and plenty of room. We love the welcome we received, complete with tote bag, document clip, and plenty of local information - even a deck of retired cards from a local casino.

The facilities were outstanding. Multiple showers (free) and plenty of toilets - never had to wait. Very clean, well lighted and ventilated.

Downtown is a block away, and the Kitsap foot ferry docks right there if you want to jump over to Bremerton. Great food, just across the parking lot, at Amy's by the Bay.

Nice marina, 2007-09-23

A nice clean marina to stop at. Easy walking distance to stores and restaurants.

Update, 2007-02-01
Captain: , Port Orchard, WA (21)

Port Orchard Marina is a well run, clean and enjoyable marina with
with great transient moorage.

The actual address for the marina is on 707 Sidney Pkwy which is a street that doesn't exist but is a block north of the 700 block of Bay St. The address shown is for the business office of the Port of Bremerton which operates both the Port Orchard marina and the Bremerton marina.

The locations for both Port Orchard and Bremerton marinas are actually on the water not where they are shown on the map.
