Reviews for Port Louis Grenada Marina
Very nice place, 2017-03-28
Captain: , Stratham (735)

I would echo the positives below. And add that the pool was a favorite to cool down at the end of each day working on the boat. In total we spent a couple weeks here. Restaurant was a disappointment as noted below. Only ate there twice.
I would not recommend day labor Patrick. At $20 US per hour, his output was not a reasonable value. Try someone else.

our home for a month, 2016-08-30

Great staff, nice pool, restaurants and spa all on site. Best of all for US boats, there is 60hz 110w power. Walk to foodland or bus to IGA for shopping. The Merry Baker is a five minute walk and half hour walk to Grand Anse beaches.

Nice marina, even though we had a break-in, 2016-08-28
Captain: , Severna Park, MD (461)

We came into the marina during Carnival largely over security concerns. The marina placed us on the outer dock, S-dock, which is the most exposed to anyone who might come in from the water. The week after the big fete, someone, apparently coming in by dinghy or skiff, did break the lock on our boat's companionway, quickly grab two bags, one with my son's passport and several hundred dollars in cash. I do think the marina security is good, but whatever happened, happened quickly and might have been unavoidable. Otherwise, the marina facilities are quite nice and the staff helpful. The pool is excellent, as is the restaurant, albeit a bit pricey. The wifi is worthless, but if you stay more than a few days, the marina will provide very fast wired Internet service. Martin is the go-to guy for cleaning boat bottoms and other general boat work.

We were glad to get to Grenada after a long run from Bonaire beating it against the trades. We came in very late due to the rough seas but the Marina staff was fabulous, they checked us it at 2:00 AM and put us on an easy secure dock for the night with power. In the morning we moved over to a nice slip , Med mooring a bit challenging for us California boaters but got in a tight spot with good help from the staff. Very friendly and very helpful folks , reasonable rates , Great WIFI with the plugged in Modem, Really enjoyed our stay here.

good facility in central location, 2015-05-31
Captain: , Tarpon Springs (250)

Facilities are well maintained. Med moor is the norm here and staff was very helpful getting us into our slip. no fuel at marina requiring us to go across the harbor to Grenada Yacht Club to refuel. pump outs at each slip and wired high speed internet available at your slip that we have found to be the best we have experienced since leaving the states. Marina has night time security. We found the on site restaurants to be excellent. Marina and restaurants are dog friendly.

This is a great marina let down by some of the staff, 2014-12-15
Captain: , Southampton , UK (1327)

On the positive this is a really good marina in a great location, with excellant facilities. Showers are amazing.

What lets it down for us is some of the staff's attitiude. they openly admit to not liking cruisers. We stayed here for two months and had many friends passing by who anchored in St Georges and came in. Many were hassled about coming ashore. When they did we would go and spend a lot of money in the restaurant. (This is not run by the marina but the attitude of the staff in their is similar, one night I brought four rounds of drinks and got charged a different price everytime)

We has push bikes with us and were asked to move them off the dock to a safe area. We did this along with several other cruisers. All the bikes were stolen. When we complained we were told it was other cruisers.

When we booked we told them we had 110v. However on arrival there was no slips ith 110v available. They would not give us a slip so we had to med moor. Apparently many of the slips are now privatley owned and the marina has to pay to use them so they sit empty whilst they make you take a med mooring.

This is one of the best marinas in the Caribbean in a great location. If the attitude of the staff changed and they were told they are there to help customers and we are not in the wayand some of us are cruisers then this would be a 5 star marina...

They should all look like this, 2014-06-10
Captain: , Afton, MN (120)

This is the way we imagined a Caribbean marina would look. Clean, colorful, on-site restaurant and other services, pool, bakery and Chandlery nearby. Med. docking with a single screw trawler on a windy day could have been disasterous if it wasn't for Derrick and Hero. What looked like our worst docking experience in 16 years turned out easy with their expert help in the water and on our deck. Great view of the city. Reasonable rates.

High Quality Marina, 2013-04-02
Captain: , Shorewood WI (244)

April 2013. Beautiful marina, well maintained, nice staff. Resturant on "Island Time." Island Waterworld within walking distance. Internet tends to cut in and out, problem is that you need to reenter an access code each time. Noise from local disco can be annoying at night.

Great location and facilities, 2012-12-15

We stayed there in 2010 shortly after it opened. Nice staff. What a great location if you want to explore town -- walking distance. It is also one of few marinas in the Caribbean with a pool.

The Only GREAT Marina on the Island, 2012-12-05
Captain: , Road Town (450)

Port Louis is beautiful, a well-maintained facility. It is close (dinghy ride) to the city and shopping. If you don't launch your tender, there are buses outside of the parking lot, on the main road.
Great staff!!
Little, if any, 60 Hz power.
Lots of bug repellant is a must here.
For a bigger boat, the ONLY place on Grenada to stay.

Hiding From Hurricanes, 2012-11-22
Captain: , Washington, DC (840)

After 5 months, Port Louis and Grenada felt like home. I agree with the other postings concerning power issues, bugs, and the friendly and helpful marina staff. The facilities are very clean and attractive. Long term dockage rates are very reasonable, but power and water is expensive. Do your own meter reading because other guests reported issues. Service at the on-site restaurant, The Victory Bar & Grill, was erratic at best. For example, we had a guest attempt to get a latté one morning only to wait 20 minutes before giving up. The only other issue we had was that three times the marina staff tied off boats next to us that insisted on running their generators all night instead of paying for electricity. We plan on being back there next summer, but will not stay as long.

Beautiful facilities, power challenges, 2012-08-02
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (346)

We spent a month here. Port Louis is a beautiful, well-maintained facility with great security, close to the city, buses and shopping. The staff were pleasant and helpful and there was great camaraderie among visiting cruisers. Bring your ear plugs if you don't like loud music, as it often overflows from the local bars late at night. Lots of bug repellant is a must here too, especially in the slips near shore. Boaters who use 60 cycle power should beware that there is only one small dock in the marina (the J-dock)%u2013 and this is the only one currently on the island %u2013 that can accommodate this need. For the summer season it was sold out months in advance, and we met many irritated American boaters who paid for a slip and ended up running their generators for power. The marina staff was helpful in arranging for an appropriately powered slip for us for a brief time for several mechanical projects.

Nice marina with nice restaurant and bar and pool. Staff is very helpful, Danny Donelan is the sales & Marketing Manager and very helpful in arranging any activity on the island. Security is good. The shopping for groceries or marine products is close, or take a short dingy ride to town.

A Great Place to Be, 2011-03-30
Captain: , Fond du Lac, WI (239)

We stayed here during Carnival. The staff is very helpful and professional and very friendly. The facility is clean and safe. There are limited 110VAC/60Hz slips. It is close and coveniant to shopping and marine facilities.
