Reviews for Port Harvey Marine Resort
Port Harvey Marina, 2016-09-04

Port Harvey has some wonderful people working hard to make this a great stop for boaters. They are in the process of rebuilding their store, restaurant, and facilities. Meanwhile their large party tent is put to good use and their evening pizzas and morning cinnamon rolls warm the welcome to boaters. The nearby anchorage is good but not as friendly as the docks.

Nothing to offer, 2016-08-05

We were anchored out but wanted to visit the marina and were met by the very unwelcoming owner who told us that we had to pay to go ashore! I wonder why people tie up to this dinky jetty when the bay offers perfect anchorage...

Nice Protected Marina, 2016-07-30

7/15/16. This is a good stopping place for before heading to the Broughtons or returning. The owners are great people and are trying hard to rebuild since thier marina sunk a couple years ago. They have a large tent on a float and host a BYOB and appatizers happy hour in the afternoon. You can order a pizza when you arrive and they will bake it for you at happy hour. You can also order cinnamon buns for your morning breakfast and they will have them ready for you about 7:30. Still no water on the docks. Also cought some crab while there and the next moring seen a grizzly and her cubs when cruising up Chatham Channel.

Very convenient location to stop after Johnstone Strait without having to time the tide in Chatham Channel. Owners are friendly and are willing to bring pizza down to the boat for dinner. Saw a Grizzly in the lagoon in the afternoon.

Marina Being Rebuilt, 2016-06-14

The facilities barge (store, restaurant, washrooms) sank in Nov 2015, and George is rebuilding something that will be better than ever before. As of our visit on 2016-06-04, cinny buns and pizza are still being prepared morning and late afternoon respectively. There is water on the docks, and genset produced power is available if requested.

Although the services are somewhat limited for the short term, the scenery of the area and enthusiasm of the staff is unchanged. We expect we'll be literally dazzled when we return.

third visit for us now, 2015-06-24

great location after coming up Johnstone. a friendly welcome and a great pizza. next time i'll have the ribs which looked and are reportedly great. ask george about fresh baked stuff and don't miss out on ordering cinnamon buns for the morning coffee. well stocked little store with a surprising amount of the kind of things that can keep you and the boat going. oh, great wifi here now too!

Okay, the showers and such are rustic, but what else would one expect this far off the beaten path? The pizza was fantastic, the cinnamon rolls alone worth the trip up the Inlet, and when we found the store was out of bread, George baked us a loaf yet that evening.

A Bit Limited , 2014-02-01
Captain: , San Diego, CA (480)

Visited the grocery store on 7-27-13 to purchase a few items. Got the milk but no bread until tomorrow. The clothes dryer was broken and so the washing machine was not available. Don't think I'll return, but at least I tried it out.

Very limited facilities during mid-June 2013, 2014-01-06
Captain: , Algonac, MI (1659)

The restaurant was not open. The washroom was out of order. No showers. Full price for use of the dock, though. Lots of apologies. Hopefully, things improved later in the season.

Good Restaurant, 2013-09-09

The docks are in good shape. The shore power was a bit low on quality (frequency and voltage). The owners are very nice and cook up good some nice grub in the restaurant.

Waitiing out a south easterly, 2013-06-29

I had been to Port Harvey Marina about 2 weeks previous on my way up to the Broughton Archipelago. On my return trip I was caught in fog, rain and contrary wind while heading back east on Johnstone Strait and was very happy to return to Port Harvey Marina.

This is not a fancy marina, it has basic ammenities, a single bathroom w/ shower, water, a store with basics supplies. It does have the " The Red Shoe" restaurant where George (the marina is owned by George and Gail) will come down to your boat and take your order for dinner. He'll also deliver freshly baked cinnamon buns to your boat in the morning.

What Port Harvey Marina may lack in luxury, it certainly makes up for with welcome charm. I will definitely be on my "return to List".

Very nice stopover, 2013-01-05

Stopped on the way back from the Broughtons in Early August 2012 to meet a friend joining us via Kenmore Air from Seattle. George and Gail are the owners, and run the whole show by themselves. Great breakfast croissants in the mornings and very good evening meals in the restaraunt on site. There are hiking trails around the resort - my wife saw a bear on one of them while walking the dog. I asked George where the best crabbing was, and he pointed to the end of the dock. Sure enough, caught our limit. Also caught a pink slamon from the back of the boat, right at the dock. Note, no power on the docks (yet).

Mmmm, pizza, 2012-07-18
Captain: , Seattle (11)

The pizza I had for dinner at the pub was quite delicious with great ingredients, and is always great for leftovers. Fully licensed, but no sales of alcohol to go.. yet.

If you are coming in to the dock or to anchor, give them a call an hour and a half ahead and they can have your meal waiting for you at the pub.

Wifi Internet is via a satellite uplink, with all the normal limitations that implies. If you anchor out, internet access is available for a reasonable $10 a day.

Overall a nice little friendly place in a great location.

Great stop on the way North, 2011-07-25

We had a nice dinner here. The hosts are very friendly and nice. They have a small but well stocked store. Moorage is reasonable, no power on the dock yet.

Very pleasant and developing place to put in, 2009-12-10

We hadn't planneed to stay here (July 09), but were pleasantly surprised by the facities. Not posh by any means, but we rowed the dinghy around to a nice marsh wilderness area nearby, had homemade pizza for support, and fresh muffins for breakfast. The store is not large but reasonable well supplied. There is no fuel and water was limited when we were there. No showers at that time.

Our two boat group stayed overnight late June, 09. We were made to feel most welcome. In fact for a very reasonable price fresh baked bread was even delivered to our boat!
This is a new family run operation by people who have been in other customer oriented businesses for years. We wish them the utmost of success!
