I have been told that land has been purchased for expansion by Johnson & Wales College

Yes, a nice slip with very accommodating staff will soon go away. Johnson and Wales University purchased this and adjoining parcels. All vessels were to be gone by 10/31, but we stayed until 11/03.

This is my normal fuel stop. Staff here could not be more helpful or friendly. We have been thinking about getting a summer slip here.

Excellent Stop Near Providence, 2012-07-21

Update July 2012. Still a gem of a marina with super friendly staff and affordable price of $100 per week. Showers are not inviting but otherwise everything was satisfactory. The cheese steak at Edgewood Market (two blocks north) is extraordinary and more than makes up for the showers.

This is a working marina and boatyard so it isn't fancy. Laundry is "perfectly adequate", to quote my spouse. Docks are floating and somewhat narrow. We notice that some chop works into the basin in southerly winds, but the breakwater takes most of the bounce out.

The staff are super: easy to work with over the phone, competent dockhands, knowledgeble about local services and restaurants, friendly and helpful.

Rates in Jul-2011 were quoted as $2 per foot. When we asked about staying longer we found it was only $75 for a 40' slip for the entire week, electricity included. So, be sure to ask.

Bicycle lanes on Narragansett Blvd make it easy to go south to Pawtuxet and the #3 and #1 bus stops within a block of the marina.
