Reviews for Port Canaveral Yacht Club
First Class, 2016-06-22
Captain: , New Bern, NC. (801)

A good stop over on our way to New Bern, NC. Easy in from ocean. Inlet well marked and deep. Lots of big ship traffic but lots of room to stay out of their way. The marina is well maintained and people are great. A big thanks to Jim and Jan Moore. You do not have to belong to a yacht club as a transient. They will be happy to accomidate you. The weather window clossed on us but we were able to transent through the lock and cannel to the ICW. Love oppsions.

Great spot friendly people, 2016-05-21
Captain: , Prospect NS (103)

Had to wait for the day to get through the locks and clear customs. Jim the Dock master sorted us put for the day and we promptly met a local with Kids who took us to a couple of places in his car. great stop wish we could have stayed longer. will come again if passing through

My new home, 2016-02-21
Captain: , Merritt Island, FL (372)

I showed up unannounced to inquire about dockage and received a very warm welcome. In 10 minutes I had 5 new friends. I liked everybody I met so much that I joined the club and made arrangements to move my boat here. Most members are sailors and most boats in the club are sailboats between 30 and 50 feet. It's a real community of friendly, caring sailors who are a blast to hang out with. The marina facilities are excellent and the people are first-rate. If you're a transient boater and they have space available, this is where you want to be!

Stop here for a dinghy motor fix. Great yacht club. Kate (dockmaster) will go out of way to help out in any way. This club is a must stop. Will be back.
Has car rental down the street .

Captain: , Leamington, Ontario (620)

Us - 47 foot sailboat, 6' draft....easy to find, very good staffing, excellent docks. Nice pool, clean showers and washroom. Fuel on hand. Small chandlery close by, repairs also available. Must be a great place, booked solid for the winter!

Nicest people you will ever meet, 2015-11-09
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (606)

I stayed here 5 days and the folks here could not have been any nicer. Tim the docmaster is a class act and Chris at the bar will go out of his way to accommodate your every need. Always there when you need them but not living in your pocket. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Great Visit!, 2015-06-11
Captain: , Virginia Beach, Virginia (84)

Nice marina with helpful staff. Enjoyed Wed night dinner at the YC and met some terrific people. Try it!

Great Little Marina-Great People, 2015-06-05
Captain: , Marina del Rey (60)

The PCYC folks welcomed me with open arms. It's a nice little marina that's well kept. The bathrooms/showers are clean and fresh. There is a workshop stocked with tools and equipment. There's a manual crane by the seawall that was great for loading my new AGM batteries into my dinghy. Dock carts are available. I'm here as a transient and it seems to me that this is a much friendlier place than either of the surrounding larger marinas. Only thing missing here are floating docks, so it's a little more work to tie up and keep the boat aligned with the tides. Otherwise, great place.

Friendliest. Marina. Ever, 2015-06-02
Captain: , Edmonton (279)

Nicest and most helpful staff we've encountered. Convenient to Customs, and convenient to the ICW (other than opening restrictions of lock/bridge due to construction - May 15). Facilities are top notch. A bit far from shopping/restaurants, but car rentals are cheap.

Great place for a stopover!, 2015-03-23
Captain: , Port Canaveral (77)

They have a great restaurant and bar open Wednesday afternoon & evening, Friday afternoon thru the weekend. Full facilities and friendly people.

very nice place, 2015-02-08

Very Nice Marina, 2014-11-21
Captain: , Kemah, TX (612)

The dockmasters are very friendly and helpful and monthly rates reasonable. Enjoy the camaraderie of the bar on weekends. Tip the bar service well!

great stay overnight, 2014-02-08
Captain: , Port Canaveral Fl (10)

Casual Dockage, 2013-06-30

Cool place to stop by. Friendly folks. Restaurant and bar open for the weekends plus Wednesday (I think). Low cost transient. No fuel, but clean showers and laundry.

Love the Clean Water At Port Canaveral Yacht Club, 2013-03-20
Captain: , Port Canaveral Yacht Club (107)

Saw a sea turtle, a dolphin and watched pelican's fish in water so clear I could see how they paddle today! And all this without even leaving the slip at Port Canaveral Yacht Club. Went sailing in the 'Frantic Atlantic' Sunday and it was beautiful - took less than 30 minutes and we were cruising Cocoa Beach for spring break. No crowds, no noise, just a pristine beach!

Nice place, 2013-03-20
Captain: , Galesville, MD (246)

Good, clean, but not upscale facilities Getting from boat deck to fixed docks (concrete posts, steel decks) on ladders at end of finger piers required a little dexterity. Floating dock at T-head was much easier. Dockmaster indicated they accept transients with "some yacht club affiliation" but he did not ask what club we belonged to.

Friendliest place we've been, 2013-02-17
Captain: , PCola (40)

Floating T-head or fixed slips. We left our sailboat here for a month and felt it was safe/secure. Easy access to a neighboring chandellrey. The dockmaster is a great individual who gave us a ride in his own car as did another member of the YC. I can't say enough nice things about the folks here.

friendly folks, 2012-12-09
Captain: , Annapolis,Maryland (40)

* No yacht club affiliation required! We lucked out by getting the only "t" head space that would accomodate our 45 ' cat. The dock master/ live aboard was a delight to deal with. The "tiki bar was open for good drinks and munchies at 4:00 Sun aft. noon. We met many of the local folks from the dock and near by neigborhoods. Baths clean. There is a B.J.'s about 15 min. drive away. We had friends visiting from the left coast so we had transportation.Might be worth looking into for provisioning before crossing the stream @ Ft. Pierce or West Palm!

Still a Great Place, 2012-04-25
Captain: , Winthrop, MA (896)

We spent another week here this time. They have food at the club on Wednesday and Friday nights. Great Chef. The people here are wonderful and very helpful. Full of great local and cruising information. If you do not get the floating "T" dock at the end you will go into their fixed slips. Not a real problem because they will be there to help you. Just call the dockmaster well in advance of arrival.

Friendly Club, 2012-04-04
Captain: , Hyannis Port (111)

I have visited this club in 2010 but it was being renovated. Just had a dinner there tonight. One selection , very tastey and all the people were friendly. The biggest drawback for us (sailboat) are the docks are fixed docks.
However I just found out that they have a floating T dock for short term transients.

We would consider staying here next pass through.

Nice place!, 2011-05-09
Captain: , East Greenbush, NY (705)

Inexpensive dockage, dockmaster is a cruiser so he "gets it", very friendly people, bar onsite and restaurants a walk away (actually, the bartender drove us there and we walked back). Docks were in good shape, water tasted good. Showers were not high power but more than adequate. What else do you need?

Super people, 2010-11-26
Captain: , Falmouth MA (180)

Ended up here by accident, and ended up having a great stay. Very reasonable rates and top notch people. Also very nice facilities.

Friendly Club, 2009-06-08

Wayne is the dockmaster and Vice Commodore and very helpful. The club has a nice bar and restaurant.
