Great People, Great Facilities and 30 and 50 amp hookups.

PAYC in full service, 2013-10-07
Captain: , Lake Charles, LA (30)

PAYC is back in full service with plenty of floating dock space available. Very nice new docks with 30 and 50 amp service and water. Nice facility with showers. Club members are very helpful and welcoming to visitors. getting into sabine lake can be difficult with 5.5 foot draft or greater at the south end of the lake.

PAYC has been rebuilt., 2013-06-17
Captain: , Lake Charles, LA (822)

Port Arthur Yacht Club is fully functioning. I visited this weekend and they were very nice and helpful to me as I was having some diesel troubles. The club docks are all new this year and are floating with full 30 amp and water available at my dock. There are many slips open in the marina and the club said membership is growing with the new docks. The lake is very good for sailing. The only tricky spot is coming in the club at a very low tide due to wind I had problems getting in.

No longer fuctional, 2010-02-20
Captain: , Port Aransas, Texas (998)

Called PAYC and Pleasure Island to see if docks available. We were told that there are no facilities since Hurricane Ike destroyed same last year. No immediate plans to construct. No need to count this as a viable stop for the near future. Recommend proceeding to Shell Island just east of the area.

Small, mostly private marina, 2007-02-24

Fixed wooden docks in poor repair. Side tie at fuel dock, may let you stay overnight there. Nice little store, restaurant/bar on site. Small shipyard on site as well.
