Reviews for Port Aransas Municipal Harbor
Not a good experience, 2014-08-11
Captain: , Corpus Christi (301)

Show up around 10pm after an offshore crossing. Took one of many empty transient slips that were open only to be berated by the staff in the morning for not calling ahead. Kind of of hard to do from offshore. Shame on them.

Great Stop ( Gypsy Soul ), 2014-07-27
Captain: , Corpus Christi (221)

We arrive at 1AM....after a 2 day sail from Galveston....we were headed to Corpus Municipal Marina but stopped in Port A and still in Port A one year later @ Island Moorings....The people who run the Municipal Maria are the best ambassadors that Port A. Could have....they welcomed us with Open arms....we enjoyed Port much we decided to stay...the Marina is within walking distance to great restaurants and fun places for night life.

Tenants and reservations, 2014-07-26
Captain: , Corpus Christi Tx (411)

Not bad for transient slips but regular tenants are slighted. Docks in poor condition. Absolutely no maintenace on the docks since originally built. Locks on the gates rarely work. Restrooms and facilities are the same as 20 yrs ago. WIFI is there but never works. Reservation have changed. Cancellations are enforced. One person called to cancel due to engine faliure. He was required to pay for the 5 days he had reserved for. BEWARE of the new policy. Give em your Credit Card # and they will take the money.

Friendly people, good access to Corpus and surrounding small towns., 2014-06-27
Captain: , San Francisco (40)

We spent a few months there, bought a cheap car on craigslist then sold it when we were ready to go. Great grocery stores compared to latin america and easy access to all you need.

We draw 7 1/2 ' so the smaller marinas wouldn't quite work for us.

Great Location, 2014-06-18
Captain: , Houston TX (92)

We spent a couple of days here in June and really enjoyed our stay.

Great Location
Easy Access
Friendly Staff
Nice Docks, Deep Water

Trainsient Docks are pulbic access with a lot of traffic.
shower facility is clean, but old and not private.

Overall we would stay here again

Awesome weekend with the family, 2013-12-02
Captain: , Corpus Christi (161)

We spent a great weekend at the transient concrete dock. Easy access in & out, fishing is good, and surrounding area nice. Restaurant are kind of far away so either bring your bikes or dinghy over...
Very kids and dog friendly.

Neat Harbor, Lots of Tourists, 2013-11-07
Captain: , Breckenridge (30)

There is a reason why the tourists love this harbor and town. The beach is close by and you can rent a dune buggy. Clean and friendly.

Harvest Moon racers will know this place well, 2013-04-12
Captain: , Southampton , UK (1327)

Anyone who has taken part in the Harvest moon race (October) will know this marina well.

It is run by very friendly staff and the faciliites are ok.

It is a reasonable walk to the restaurants unless you have a dinghy. Fueling dock opposite has a small dock so can get busy at times.

Beautiful Harbor, 2012-04-27
Captain: , Clear Lake Shores (135)

Well protected, very nice harbor with pretty water and a lot of amenities in or around the harbor. Transient slips available with electricity and water. The office is only open 8-5. If you plan to arrive outside those hours, be sure to arrange with the office to have a key to the restroom/shower facilities left for you. The facilities were adequate but could use some updating. Slip for a 30ft boat was $25, plus $5 for 30amp service. We would love to spend more time here.

A Fun Stop In Texas, 2012-03-07
Captain: , Road Harbour - BVI (651)

The city has invested into the docks here for the past few years. The water is deep, 20 feet in most of the marina. The entrance is easy to navigate and well lit at night. Access to and from the Gulf is a big plus. The showers and bathrooms are not great. However, the local area offers plenty of restaurants within walking distance, all of which are reasonably price. This is a busy fishing area and in summer the marina can get a little crowded. If you can%u2019t get a slip or room at the transient dock, anchor in the Lydia Ann Channel (beware of strong tidal currents) and dingy over.

This is a great spot to kick back and watch the world go by for a few days.

Be sure to check out the 1857 built light house on the Lydia Ann Channel (private grounds are close to visitors).

Port A & Marina, 2011-11-19
Captain: , Eagle Harbor, WA (424)

Hard to beat Port A marina as a Texas destination. We have sailed here several times as well as owning a rental condo. The culture is great, huge boating/fishing community. Fun every weekend in Port A. The marina has nice floating transit docks. The restroom and shower facilities are lacking but adequate.

Favorite of the locals, 2011-01-26

Nice Stop, 2010-01-29
Captain: , san antonio, tx (260)

1-29-2010 We moved our sailboat from Kemah to Island Moorings Marina. We arrived at sunset so we got a transient slip here. It is very easy access and would even be easy to get into at night. The office closes at 5 PM and we called about 4PM. They told us where to find our slip and told us to come by in the morning and pay. We had a floating dock and the rate was $35 without electricity.

Nice stop., 2009-06-11
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (175)

This is a neat little fishing town that seems to welcome all comers. A 43 foot slip was $55.00 per night with electricity. We opted for fixed docks as the wind was blowing 30 out of the south and thet had a fixed dock facing into the wind. Otherwise, chose the floating docks. Easy walk to typical casual tourist restaraunts. One called "Fins" was great. Trolley serves the area for a 1.75 day pass.

Friendly place, 2007-12-04
Captain: , Tropical Tip of Texas (145)

Good protection, easy access to restaurants and shops in the great little beach town of Port Aransas. Transient slips are available nightly or by the month in the winter only. Price for a 30' slip with electricity was $25. There are floating docks (very nice) and fixed docks (decent) available - we requested a floating dock when we stayed there and were not disappointed.

Nice marina, good location, 2007-02-24
Captain: , Houston, TX (1409)

Walking distance from town, this marina has a great location. Transient slips by the day only, no long term transients, waiting list for permanent slips.
