Reviews for Port Annapolis Marina
Wonderful Stay!, 2017-07-12
Captain: , Chicago (630)

We just spent a week at Port Annapolis Marina. We chose this marina on Back Creek because we had guests joining us and having the big parking lot and pool seemed like a good place to welcome guests. We were a bit surprised at the nightly and weekly rate because they are higher than what is listed in Active captain but it's summer on the Bay and we were happy to have a slip. We arrived late and got tied up ourselves. Blake was out with another boat and we told him we'd be fine getting in. He stopped by when he was back and brought us a welcome packet. The next morning we quickly came to terms with the higher price. The pool is huge. The bathrooms are beautiful and clean. There is a Fitness Center! And the staff are so friendly. As I was leaving for the fitness center the next morning Scott knocked on our boat to check is in. I told him Blake had stopped by already. Scott went above and beyond to make our stay great. He drove us multiple times into town. Wonderful service the marina provides. He gave us opinions on restaurants and where to go. He was so polite and accommodating even after receiving news of a death in the family Sunday morning while I was talking to him. We used to pool and fitness center pretty much daily. My mom took daily walks in the nearby nature center. And we had a lot of good meals. Boatyard Bar and Girls and Carol's Creek were my favorites. The State House and Naval Academy were great stops as well. Would be happy to return here!

Outstanding marina, 2017-06-10
Captain: , Hampton, Va (270)

Docking assistance very professional. Facilities were spotless and comfortable. Very welcoming staff. Spent two nights.

Relaxing Weekend, 2016-08-16
Captain: , Hollywood, MD (20)

Went here for the weekend in late July which was very hot. It was great that they could get our group of 3 boats in for the weekend. We had a great time enjoying the pool and relaxing. Had a great breakfast from the Wet Dog Café and had great meals in East Port.

Nice Marina, Great Kadey Krogen Staff, 2016-07-25
Captain: , Confetti, Kadey Krogen (1619)

We purchased a Kadey Krogen 39 from Jodi Jamiolkowski, Kadey Krogen broker. She was great to work with and went over and above to be sure we had everything we needed before we set off on our cruise. The marina was also very nice with new bathhouses, grilling areas and screened in dining areas you can use. They also recycle. They have loaner bikes BUT take with caution. No gears and the chain fell off on both on a short two mile ride to the grocery store. Great west marine within walking or biking distance. Marina is a bit pricey but most in Annapolis are. Also great wifi

Service Warranty Issues, 2016-06-07
Captain: , Annapolis MD (191)

Ensure that you are happy with the work before you leave. I had work done over the winter and didn't have the chance to check everything out. When notified of the issue, they did not take the time to correct the issue and actually charged me for what should have been covered under the warranty. I have since corrected the problem with another facility.

lovely marina with a great service department, 2016-06-01
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (10)

We recently bought a used trawler that was berthed at Pt Annapolis Marina (PAM), and we kept her there for about 4 months before leaving for our homeport in Norfolk, VA. The boat had been terribly neglected both mechanically and cosmetically. We hired the PAM Service Dept to take care of alot of repairs and maintenance. We were extremely pleased with all the work performed amd thought the costs were very fair considering the quality of work. In particular, Kevin McPadden, Service Manager, was extremely helpful with good advice and attention to detail. The marina itself is very beautiful with many decks, gazebos, BBQ grills, lovely plantings, a cafe and a pool. But best of all, every employee we encountered was friendly, cheerful, helpful and just super nice. It was a great experience, and if we lived in the area we would definitely chose this marina as our homebase.

Nice Marina. Catamaran lift and owner repaid allowed, 2016-05-16
Captain: , Annapolis (411)

The cafe is great. Fresh cooked meals. Marine store Catamaran lift and lots of repairs can be done here.

Way Past Expectation, 2015-11-04
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale FL (124)

We had something hit our props and were towed in on Saturday 10/24. They were ready to haul us out as we arrived and checked out the hull & props. Monday they hauled again and pulled the props and repaired a ding to the hull at the waterline.

People are super nice and accommodating. It wasn't cheap and it certainly wasn't outrageous either.

They obviously cater to the local crowd but went out of the way to accommodate us and another boat that arrived Sunday afternoon by tow as well.

Facility use (or not), 2015-09-29
Captain: , USEastCoast (664)

Port Annapolis appears to be a very nice and well cared for facility. We were anchored off in Back Creek but went ashore there and visited the Cafe. The meal, breakfast, was very nice and reasonably priced. The grounds were clean and well maintained as were the bathrooms next to the café. We inquired about use of the shower and laundry facilities for crew on a boat at anchor and were told $7.00 per person per day. I am sure this Port Annapolis appears to be a very nice and well cared for facility. I am sure this may be reasonable but it seemed steep for our purposes. My wife and I have a combined height of about 11.5 feet so that is about $1.22 per foot. We opted to get tokens at the Annapolis Harbor Docks and shower for $1.00 each. The savings we squandered on a very nice lunch in town!

Hatteras Classic Club Fleet Captain, 2015-09-16
Captain: , Baltimore (10)

We held our annual rendezvous at Port Annapolis Sept 9-13. The marina went out of their way to accomaodate our group of 10 Hatteras cruisers from 46' to 65'. They put most of the boats on the same dock for the clubs convenience but at great inconvenience for the marina as it interrupted their weekday work schedule. This was done voluntarily and with a smile. The marina is a fine facility and very deserving of the many awards they have earned over the years. The perfect venue for the perfect weekend. Thanks to all.

Very pleased, 2015-08-20
Captain: , Lakeland (997)

We stayed here for about 6 weeks in July and August. The marina is excellent. Excellent staff, including dockmaster, Blake. Very nice pool and small restaurant on site. Showers are nice. I didn't choose the marina with repairs and upgrades to our boat in mind. But, while there I decided to upgrade all our electronics. Frotunately for me, this is the only marina in the area that is capable of hauling our catamaran and its 24'7" beam. The quality of the work performed was great and the staff (including the service mangager, Kevin, and numerous other workers) was very professional. We plan on stopping by again on our way southward.

Great stop and nice people, 2015-07-19
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (118)

We really like the location, its facilities and the staff! Starting with Blake, the dockmaster, everyone bends over backwards to make sure our needs are met. The place is quiet, clean, well-maintained and safe.

Won't let you down!, 2014-12-16
Captain: , Toronto (20)

I purchased my sailboat here from one of the brokerages situated in the marina. I obtained quotes from different sources for a $15,000 upgrade work and I choose the marina to do the install.
Despite the fact that my final bill came to much higher than it was estimated in writing - due to miscellaneous shop charges in the amount of $3,000, which they later adjusted - I still have a very good opinion about the quality of service provided here. Staff is very knowledgable with strong experience, they definitely go out of their way to satisfy your needs. My new autopilot turned out be defective after I left the marina and they arranged an exchange with Garmin and paid for related expenses. Kevin, the service manager and Brian one of the techinicians are great people to work with!
The facilies are great, I spent several weeks here in October/November and really enjoyed it. I hope I'll be back here one day.

Port Annapolis Marina, 2014-10-22
Captain: , Visalia, CA (380)

Great place to have your boat worked on. Very compedent staff in most areas, if they can't do it they will bring in experts. Cafe on the property with good food and marine store.

October of 14 We had our fall get ready to go south work done and I could not be happier with the quality of the job. Again the people were friendly and helpful. I was sorry to leave.

great marina, 2014-10-04
Captain: , little hampton (10)

traveling all over the world I get to see many marinas . I find this marina and the great sevices availible to be one of the best arround here and

In my business I get to see marinas all over the world and there is no doubt in my mind that Port Annapolis Marine rates with the best of them. Great facilities and very good services that can just about do anything that need to be done on your boat .

Everything and More, 2014-10-03
Captain: , Mayo, MD (41)

Staff response to cruisers needs and requests is outstanding. Grounds and facilities are beautifully maintained. Full range of marine services/repairs are available and scheduled in timely manner. Resaurant, pool and gym are easy to access and well maintained. Marina store is well stocked and will order items not stocked. Staff seem genuinely happy to be working with cruisers and at Port Annapolis. One of the best marinas we've used. It is a truely five star marina.

Port Annapolis Marina Comes Through, 2014-07-08
Captain: , New Orleans (148)

While transiting North from the Bahamas we found that we had prop problems and needed a quick haul and repair. We were referred to Port Annapolis Marina by several folks and called them to schedule the work. Of course this was during their busiest time of the year. Kevin, being a cruiser at heart and SSCA Cruising Station Rep for Annapolis, understood the urgency and managed to get us in the yard within 24 hours of first our talking to him. Their technicians quickly identified and corrected the problem and got us back in the water so we could continue north the following day.
Another great thing about Port Annapolis Marina is that they do not charge SSCA members dockage while their boats are undergoing repair.
This is undoubtedly the best yard that I have seen. I recommend them highly…..

Great service and winter storage place, 2014-06-27
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (50)

I kept my catamaran there last winder. They can haul to 19'. They do everything and provide great service. The service manager is very experienced and great with advice. They also do short hauls, do excellent engine work, have a workout room, great little restaurant and pool.

Best Service Anywhere, 2014-06-20
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (10)

Port Annapolis Yard gives the best marine service I have found anywhere in the world, and I have sailed in the Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf, and Carribean. They are friendly, prompt, do what they say they are going to do, and do it on time at less than their estimate in most cases.

Not cheap, but high quality, 2014-05-01
Captain: , Galesville, MD (222)

We've always been treated very well at this marina, and have, unfortunately, lost our best boat guy to their employ. Ask for Brian Jones if you go there. He is simply the best.

Very Flexible and Good Work, 2013-12-16
Captain: , Crockett (610)

We had our boat moved here while my wife was by herself and Kevin helped arrange a spot on a Sunday when we could get some help from fellow cruisers.

We had engine maintenance, gel coat and rigging work done which was all completed to a high level of quality. Though I was getting nervous that all would be completed on time Kevin came through and all was done on schedule. He even waived some of the dockage fee while we were waiting for work to begin.

The facility itself is quite nice with good docks and a good lounge with showers and laundry. Had a great potluck with folks before departing south.

A good spot to tie up in Back Creek, 2013-09-07
Captain: , Annapolis Md (280)

This is a marina and working yard. The facilities are pleasent and the pool nice. Access is easy from Back Creek. No really easy to get to Annapolis except by dinghy.

Best Marina on the Chesapeake!, 2013-07-12
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach (251)

Port Annapolis is the nicest marina that we visited on our month-long cruise on the Chesapeake Bay. Their staff is friendly and helpful. The well maintained facilities include a fitmess center, cafe. marine supply and swimming pool. The beautifully landscaped grounds, gazabos, grill area and shuttle service into downtown Annapolis made our week-long stay here very pleasant. Their boatyard facilities adds to their appeal. We will definitely return to Port Annapolis.

Very nice marina, 2013-05-31
Captain: , Galesville, MD (1341)

We stayed here Labor Day 2012 for two nights on the T head. We had good service. Van drove us to Eastport one day. Nice pavillion for a group event.

A great place to call home, 2013-05-08
Captain: , Annapolis (197)

Friendly, we have all seen nice places, and some not so nice. The true difference between a nice place and a great place are the people you interact with daily, (or in my case weekly unless I get a day to work from my boat!). Port Annapolis has the greatest staff, very well maintained facilities, nice grounds, and a great boating atmosphere.

The initially the costs appear higher than other marinas in the area if you just look at the presented cost. If you look further you see many of the items that cost extra are included in the price to stay at Port Annapolis. Pump out at the boat, shuttle to town, electric, Wi-Fi (real bandwidth not just enough for email but real connectivity), the resources of a working yard, and a nice marine store and a very nice breakfast and lunch deli. Clean well maintained boaters lounge, bathrooms, picnic and BBQ with some areas screened in to keep the bugs away. Kids play area and a couple putting green! I have not yet been to the pool but I am looking forward to being able to relax and enjoy fantastic pool area.

Security is provided by the new gate, and coded locks on the key doors, lounge, bathrooms etc.

The docks and facilities are maintained very well and safety and relaxed living abounds.

Truly an impressive operation.

Capt. S/V Ariosa

Good but not spectacular, 2012-10-23
Captain: , Somers Point (460)

This is a very good marina with an overly exceptional staff. The amenities are good but not exceptional but there is little else. Provisioning and restaraunts are not convenient. However, their ships store is very good and their staff is very eager to help. I am a no frills guy so this sort of place appeals to me.

Very happy with their service!, 2012-10-22
Captain: , Wiscasset ME (1435)

We needed a short haul on our sailboat to adjust our propeller and PAM did a great job. We checked with three yards and PAM was the least expensive. The service lady was nice, the travel lift crew was great and handled our boat very carefully. They hauled our boat, pressure washed the bottom and left her in the slings for 1 hour so we could work on the prop and change the zincs. Everything went perfect. The entire crew was knowledgeable and professional. Excellent service! Five stars in our book!

excellent bottom job, 2012-09-22
Captain: , Northport, MI (20)

We used this yard to grind off 12 years of bottom paint, apply new barrier coat & coppercoat. Awesome communication, they told us what they were doing, when and why, every step of the way. Did what they said they would, and when. They charged what they bid and very reasonable for Annapolis prices. Travelift crew was excellent, made sure we were level and near power and water; we were going to be living aboard during this period. Even had a pumpout cart that could service us while on the hard, so we could continue to use the ship's head. The finished job was more fair than our hull has ever been!

Great Haul, 2012-06-06
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (695)

Port Annapolis was a great place to haul and work on you rboat. Price is good for Annapolis. Very suppportive crew and very accomadating on short notice and times to haul or splash your boat. Allows you to work on your own boat.

Nice Weekend, 2012-05-30
Captain: , Georgetown, MD (30)

Stayed at PAM over the Memorial day weekend - staff was great! Facilities were very nice. Very convenient shuttle service to center of Annapolis - the staff even came out after hours to pick us up from a late do need a vehicle to get to Annapolis walking to town is not an option. Free wifi is nice. Good electrical hook-up, my CATV connection did not work but we split off of the other transients; it worked out. Good time overall.

Great boatyard service. , 2012-05-15
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (50)

I've been using PAM for over 6 years and they've serviced both our Tiara and Cabo with the utmost professionalism. Always fairly priced with very prompt, knowledgable service. Absolutely recommended.

Great Marina but a long way to town., 2012-04-12
Captain: , Monches,wi (330)

We tied up here last fall to weather out Hurricane Irene. Small local marina that we were at had requested we move out during the storm as we were about max size for that place. Understood their concerns.

Port Annapolis Marina was a good safe spot. Very competent staff, lots of good trades people available for work if needed. Only downside is it's a long ways away from anything like grocery stores, etc. and about 5 mi (by road) from downtown Annapolis.

otherwise a very good operation.

Captain: , Oriental, NC (1148)

This is a full service marina in every sense of the word. There are many on site repair facilities: engine, rigging, fiberglass repair, etc. Also has a marine store that can order almost anything not in stock.

Unfortunately, the slip fees are expensive: $2.75 per ft transient price. This can be offset or free if repairs are done by onsite contractors. There is not alot nearby but a courtesy van is available that runs at fixed times.

Upscale Marina on Back Creek, 2011-09-01
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (195)

If you are visiting the Annapolis area, you want to stay at PAM. The grounds are nice, facilities are clean, and convenient for reprovisioning.

Working Yard kind of a place, 2011-08-17
Captain: , Annapolis (795)

I like Port Annapolis Marina even if there is not much nearby and not much on site. They have a little cafe on site but anything else is a long walk away. It is a very scenic place and there are repair facilites and brokers all over the property.

Nice marina but not in downtown Annapolis, 2011-07-04
Captain: , Beach haven NJ (510)

Marina is a nice one but location is not ideal for exploring Annapolis. You need some form of transportation to get to downtown Annapolis.

Outstanding work and good knowledge of Krogen's, 2011-04-05
Captain: , Kent Island, MD (181)

In mid 2010, I had my bottom repainted to correct a poor job from another yard, as well as had the cutlass bearing replaced, fiberglass and gelcoat work done to repair a scupper door, a fresh water leak tracked down and repaired as well as several other small issues. Excellent workmanship, good customer contact and willing to educate at a reasonable price. Very satisfied and will continue to use their services.

Nice people and Good Service atr Marina, 2010-06-30
Captain: , Stuart, FL (426)

Have not used the yard for work, but marina is nice with lots of facilities including pool, workout room, picnic areas, screen pavailions with grills, playgrouns, etc. Dock are in good shape and staff is very responsive to any problems. A bit of a ride to Annapolis proper but the Annapolis Launch will take you in for $3 per head. Nice ships store on site and Fawcetts Marine and West Marine 1.8 miles away.

Bad Work and Bad Service, 2010-06-03
Captain: , Annapolis (10)

Port Annapolis Marina
- attempted to charge me more than 3 times their estimate to replace my centerboard.
- attempted to hold my boat to collect the faulty bill
- butchered the fixed keel where the board pockets
- poorly fabricated the center board, cannot not be used in down position because it wobbles aggressively
- would not warranty their work

Decent Boat Yard, 2010-04-10
Captain: , Carlyle, IL (133)

The Travelift crew is excellent. Very knowledgable and helpful. Ships store is well stocked with good prices. The biggest issue I saw was when PAM performes repair work they do not always listen to the boat owner and will continue work after being asked to hold. However, there are several good contractors approved to work in the yard. Overall the haulout prices are very competetive, some of the staff is knowledgable, and I would return.

Great service, wonderful facility., 2009-07-01
Captain: , Oxford, MD (10)

Great yard, nice people and very competent. They have a very compete ship's store with items you won't find at West Marine. They will tell you if you need to go to West Marine or they can order anything.

Full service marina, 2008-12-24
Captain: , annapolis, md (1)

Great location to downtown annapolis on back creek. Highly knowledgeable staff with mechanical and all other services available onsite

Convenient, 2008-08-19
Captain: , Clarks Summit PA (1)

Convenient location with easy access to all Annapolis has to offer. Clean, reasonably priced, with well-kept showers and grounds.

Personal Experience, 2007-02-10
Captain: , Oslo, Norway (4)

I liked this marina. It was quite pricey, for a liveaboard, but it was friendly, in a good location and it has pretty much all you need with regards to outfitting your boat, repairs, services, etc.

Not too far from Annapolis. They do have free bikes for those that dont mind a 20 minute cycle.

Great Working Yard, 2007-01-24
Captain: , Woodbridge, VA (137)

There's always a friendly staff member to help out. They do have some fixed docks, but they're real value is that of a working yard that allows for anyone to work on your boat to include you. Very clean facility and has a small deli/cafe on site. I believe they have bike for checkout, but they're too far from Annapolis to ride a bike. The Annapolis water taxi can pick you up, hail them on 68.
