Reviews for Point Chosen (Torry Island) Town Dock
Overnight docking not allowed, 2015-01-12
Captain: , Buffalo (1144)

Signs posted "NO OVERNIGHT DOCKING", confirmed by the bridge tender.

Free Dockage, 2014-02-11
Captain: , St Augustine,Fl (182)

Planned our trip across Lake O based on this stop. We arrived at dusk. The floating dock just fit our 40' trawler with a depth of 6'. Park was scattered with litter and restroom unusable, but it was nice to walk to the dog. With that said, signage on land clearly says 'No Overnight Dockage'. Because of that late time we decided to chance it and slept undisturbed.

Good overnight stop, 2013-01-31
Captain: , hampstead.n.c. (219)

We stayed here on jan. 28. There are now 6 finger piers, all new, just west of the Torry Island Bridge. There are 2 sets of 3 finger piers separated by a small boat channel. There is no electricity or water, but showers and toilets at the campground (very short walk). One good sized cruisers could stay at each finger pier for a total of 6, but side by side boats would be somewhat cozy. We were the only boat there on the 28th and the campers indicated that this is the norm lately.
If you are heading west on the rim route, this would be a very logical stop from Stuart.
No other facilities and the bait shop is a hike from the west most piers.

Easy overnight & the price is right, 2013-01-12

We "squeezed" our 49' in bow first and only 3' of the stern was hanging over. The docks are floating and new. No power or water. No stores close except the bait shop. No signs on the dock restricting use. The bait shop man also opens the bridge. He said OK to stay overnight. Not "offical" but enough for me.

In addition to the wooden dock !!!, 2011-01-23
Captain: , brewerton ny (303)

There are 3 new floating finger docks just N/W of the old wooden town dock.Asked the bridge tender if he saw a problem spending the night here and He didn't. So we did! Also the bridge tender runs the Slims fish camp store and they stock a few grocery items including BEER! Very nice people.I went Bow in and had 6 feet under me at the eastern most finger. I would not attempt to back in
