Reviews for Pocomoke City Municipal Dock

Visited here 3 times. Tried all three restaurants Riversside Grill Restaurant is perhaps 3.5 stars. Adequate. The town staff could hardly show less interest in arriving boats and does nothing to make you feel welcome. The Delmarva Discovery Center is great!

Friendly town, 2016-06-13

Easy ride up the river on an incoming tide. Bridge tender openned the bridge before we had a chance to call. Nice docks with maybee too many ducks and geese in the park. Watch where you walk. Restrooms in need of renovation. Otherwise, we found the locals very friendly and happpy to have us stop in. Groceries a good hike from dock, a bike would be handy.

Quiet restful stop, 2014-10-16

Enjoyed free dock, water and electricity. Great restaurant, excellent prices. Downtown has a few shops fun to browse. Beer/wine in small shop across the bascule bridge. Walmart/lowes a mile walk. Easy bike ride. Chose to dock after the bascule and glad we did. Were right beside the bathrooms, and not on display in front of the restaurant. Bath house was moderately clean, but chose not to use the shower due to my adversion to spiders. Worth the trip up the river. Showed as low as 5 feet at low tide coming through the skinny entrance to river. 8 feet and more during mid tide. Channel well marked.

Really nice, 2014-09-27

Came here after MTOA Rendezvous in Cambridge. Really needed a rest, and this is the perfect place to do that. The cruise up the river is quiet and scenic. The unspoiled beauty is the prescription for contemplative introspection and relaxation. The city docks are great. We enjoyed free electricity and water. The visitor center did not know where we should check in for the night, but the downtown area is only two blocks long. How hard could it be? Finally we found the City Hall and filled out the required check-in forms. Very quiet and peaceful. Wonderful cruise up and back down the river. Will do it again.

Awesome adventure, great destination, 2014-06-29

6/29/2014 The ride up the Pocomoke is awesome. We saw at least 10 eagles. The river is deep the whole way to Pocomoke City. The quiet docks are above the bridge. If you stay infront of the Riverside restuaunt you will have lots to here and watch till 11pm. Also, the street lights are a little bright at night.

Out of the way, but nice, 2013-08-06

At the recommendation of some friends we made the trek up to Pocomoke. We found it to be nice and welcoming. There is a good restaurant right down by the dock, and then a few other that are in town. The docks are very nice and sturdy. Mostly side tie's. There are some slips but they seem to be for longer term use. No one is there to help you dock, but it's pretty easy even with the strong current. The nature walk and museum are right at the dock and is worth the visit. We got there late on Saturday and the Riverside Grill restaurant at the dock was active and had some good specials. We walked around town, but we were late in the day and the stores were closed, the local movie theater was popular and had a sell out crowd. Of cousre on Sunday everything was closed except the Museum.
It is a long ways up the river, but it is a nice trip. Take advantage of the tides otherwise you could have a 2 knot current against you.
Docks are free for the first two nights and that INCLUDES 50 amp power and water. Only $20 if you stay additional nights. Worth the trip.

Great trip up the Pocomoke, 2010-10-24
Captain: , Huron Ohio (608)

The trip up the Pocomoke is well worth it for the scenic beauty. Plenty of bald eagles in the area, too! The city dock is free, with free electric and a nice little museum across the street. The bridgetender, Otis (on channel 68), could not have been more helpful to us. When we left in the morning, he watched us untie our lines and had the bridge going up before we could call him.

Strong current hampers the use of slips but plenty of room to pull along side of face docks w/30amp, 50 amp and 120 service and water. Dockage available on both sides of draw bridge (VHF channel 68) but found it best above draw bridge and just below the high rise bridge. 1st two nights free w/extra nights $20.00 ea.

We got there on a weekend evening. Other than the great guy in the bridge cab, there was no one around. A walk into town was pretty unimpressive. Could be our timing was bad. Dock was great; trip up the river was great as well.

City Dock at Pocomoke City, 2009-09-19

Great place to visit. Free dock, electricity and water, depending on where you tie up. We were here with 10 trawlers and there was room, in addition to three other boats previously here. You might have to share a power box and only use 30amp but so what...its free. Deep water, well protected.
The city dock is immediately after the white draw bridge. You call the bridge tender on CHANNEL 68. He opens the bridge quickly but he doesnt answer you on channel 68....he simply remains silent !
The people of the town are great. We were greated on the dock by three different locals who welcomed us here.
There is a nice little breakfast/lunch/ice cream shop a block into town next to the movie theatre, a pizza parlor, a Chinese take out place, etc. There is a good hardware store here within one block. You can ride your bike to a nearby WALMART.
Dogs: the docks are right next to a large city park, lots of grass and places to let the dog run and get exercise !!!! Our dog loved it.
