Fair Haven is an up and coming village, very homey, cottage community style. Within a few blocks of the hotel is the general store and cafe, art gallery/cafe with espresso/cappucino, gift shops, groceries.
A treat is the East Side Pleasure walk- follow Fancher Road along the east side of Little Sodus Bay- it takes you all the way to Fair Haven State Park, a beautiful, sandy beach park with showers, food, camping and remarkable vistas of Lake Ontario. This place is a hidden treasure!

Reviews for Pleasant Beach Hotel
Beautiful spot, 2015-06-28

Little Sodus Bay is a beautiful spot and completely unspoiled. The town of Fair Haven feels like a step back in time with Sunday afternoon concerts in the town park, a one block center and cute homes dotting the shoreline. Pleasant Beach is delightful. The owners, boaters themselves, are very gracious. And their bar/restaurant/hotel is charming. Docks are nice, single restroom with shower is clean and tidy and even has piped in music from the hotel. And the giant fish feeding at night is an amazing sight.

Little weedy getting into the docks, but great rates, clean showers. Docks have been recently redone and are in excellent condition. People are nice and the crabcakes are excellent at a very good restaurant. Glad got there early as is got busy for a Tuesday. Although we didnt use it, shopping near by. Look for umbrellas to on patio to identify from the water. Entrance to Bay was being dredged upon our arrival. No problem with 5 ft draft. Accessibility for dogs as well. Will return!

Read the other reviews and add our hearty endorsement of Pleasant Beach Hotel. Come down the short bay to the southeast corner, where there is deep water...inexpensive docking...a fine restaurant..wonderful people...and nearness to village shopping (easy walking distance). We found this great place by chance and ended up regretting having to leave after only one night. Sure, Sodus Point and Oswego aren't all that much further in either direction....but do yourself a favor and dock at this nice spot in Fair Haven. JoAnn & Dave Wahl "Wayward"

The owners welcome visitors, share their own apartment for showers if the downstairs showers are busy and offer guests the benefit of their considerable cruising experiences not only on lake Ontario but up and down the Atlantic coast.

We came here because of bad weather on the Lake. A great place in a large deep harbour, a dock for our 50' boat, great restaurant,
very friendly people. Grocery about 10 minutes walk, and a cookie store nearby. Thank you H and Bonnie. A must stop.

We've been to Pleasant Beach several times. This is a turn-of-the-century hotel that is being lovingly renovated. H & Bonnie, the owners, are cruisers themselves and used to run a charter business in the Caribbean. (The Cape Dory 36 out front is theirs.) These people provide a warm, welcome environment for visitors. The food is excellent, reasonably priced and plentiful. When you come a second time, you're family! The hotel is within walking distance to the village of Fair Haven (see attractions). We plan our cruises to always include a visit to this lovely place.
