Yes - One each in the mens and womens bathrooms between Big Mary's bar and the main restaurant. Very clean although water pressure is variable.

Internet access

Yes - ATT and Verizon both have good service. Pirates Cove WiFi is available but only works about halfway out the docks unless you have a serious range extender. 500 mW Alfa below didn't connect from end of dock, but Bullet 2HP with 12 dBi antenna did.

Pirates Cove installed additional WIFI antenna. As of 8/2/14, using AFLA long-range wireless adapter received WiFi at the end of the dock.

Reviews for Pirates Cove
Only one pier, but it's a good one!, 2016-09-17
Captain: , Galesville, MD (222)

We have kept our boat here for almost 3 years, and could not be happier. Electricity, water, wi-fi (netflix-watching quality), good solid pier, nice owner. Low transient rates, at least in the off season (friends stayed here for $40 the other night). Two fully-equipped bathrooms, coin-op washer and dryer.
Galesville itself is not that close to a grocery store, but you can walk to highs and get some staples.
As of fall 2016, WiFi reaches all the slips!

Good Marina, Good Value, 2016-09-01
Captain: , North Charleston, SC (752)

This is not a fancy place, but it's clean and functional and inexpensive. It's not really in a town so eating in the attached reastaurant is about all there is to do. The restaurant was good.

Nice marina, great restaurant (not so much any more), 2016-08-09
Captain: , Tracys Landing, MD (422)

Stayed in the marina during summer 2015. Nice place, good services. Had dinner in the adjoining restaurant. Great atmosphere, great food. Would definitely return.

Update August 6, 2016: Not sure what's going on in the kitchen. Food was not as good as first visit in 2014 - OK, but not worth writing home about. Service was great - Nicole and Kelly were wonderful.

Great little spot for an overnight., 2016-01-29
Captain: , School of Hard Knocks (40)

We stayed here the first weekend of October 2015 for one night (Saturday). The area is very scenic and it's a nice sail from the Bay. Easy to navigate the channel coming in. The docks were perfectly fine. The restaurant was good and the bar for later in the evening was great too. Dock master was helpful getting us in and the price cannot be beat!

A great value in the area, 2015-05-14
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2870)

We were visiting friends for several days and decided to check out Pirate's Cove based on the reviews. We were very happy with our stay. The docks were almost new, the staff and other boaters very friendly, and the showers certainly adequate.

Nice Clean Facility, 2014-09-06
Captain: , Little River, SC (2037)

We came here expecting to do some grocery shopping. Note that all of the stores within walking distance of the marina have closed. However when the owner found out that we needed groceries, he lent us his truck to drive to the closest grocery called Christophers. Very nice. Ate lunch at the marina restaurant-soft shell crab sandwhiches that were excellent. The slips are wooden finger piers, old but well maintained. No one was available to help us with lines. Shower and laundry facilities were great. Highly recommend this marina as long as you are not looking for a shopping experience.

Beautiful spot, 2014-08-31
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (1342)

Transient spots are mostly perpendicular to the t-head and provide a gorgeous view across West River toward Shady Side.

Service in the bar and restaurant is quite good. The kitchen is mediocre. Seafood tends to be overcooked which is quite unfortunate.

Update 9/2014: The kitchen has improved markedly. We spent a few days here over Labor Day weekend 2014. The liveaboard dockmaster is gone. The restaurant manager (Richard) is quite competent. Weekend help on the docks is not. Don't count on useful help. I watched dockhands pull the bows of boats into dock boxes on several occasions over just a few days. Still, staff is friendly and helpful and the restaurant is better. Not much within walking distance.

Dockmaster can be hard to reach until you get quite close but he is very responsive once in touch.

All slips have partial fingers on both sides. Be prepared to get bow lines over pilings as you pass.

Pirates Cove - marina and anchored out - is now on our favorites list.

Update 6/2012 - Previous dockmaster seems to be gone and dock duties are performed by inexperienced young people. Poor radio operation and no clue on helping tie up. Be prepared to circle while they figure out where to put you and to handle your own lines. Views are still beautiful.

Great stop, 2014-08-02
Captain: , annapolis (453)

Pirates Cove has new docks with water, elect, and WIFI through the marina. Capt. Bob and his staff run a nice restaurant and bar with very reasonable prices. At $40/night, including one 30 amp, PC
is a great stop.

A must stop and the perfect base camp, 2014-06-02
Captain: , Key West, FL (115)

If you are cruising the Chesapeake, this is a great base of operations. Monthly slip fee of around $500 in a happening marina. Great food, great happy hour, and boat friendly. Centrally located to everhthing in the upper Chesapeake. If you dont' want to be in a slip, the anchorage in front of the marina is 5 star.

They don't take reservations, but they have never turned away a boater.

Good Seafood house, 2014-05-12
Captain: , Annapolis, Md (130)

Good food, and if you have your boat in a slip it makes for good takeout! Atmosphere is nice too....

Upgrades underway, 2014-04-12
Captain: , Eastport (41)

Significant improvements underway for docks and slip facilities, makes this small, but nice marina a good stop. Friendly folks and a decent resturant.

Great stopover, 2014-01-09
Captain: , Chester, MD (225)

Galesville is not loaded with action but its a lovely village. Pirate's Cove is an above average place with among the lowest transient rates on the Bay. The adjoining restaurant is quite good. Large yacht yard next door, gas dock.

Good restaurant, 2013-07-08
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (350)

We rode our dinghy over to the restuarant. The food was pretty decent. Would go here again. Fun to watch the races from the pier.

Good slip location, easy bay access, 2013-04-17
Captain: , Galesville, MD (160)

We recently picked up a slip here at PC Marina. Local management watches after the boats well and minimizes traffic on the docks. Slips get shallow closer to the restaurant. Being on the West River, there is usually good wind and for the sailors among us, we can sail out of the river and mimize motor time. You are a quick 35-45 mins to the river mouth and full on bay sailing.

Great crab cakes, 2013-04-16
Captain: , Annapolis (145)

Had a great, very relaxing meal in the restaurant. Probably not a "foodies" type of place, but excellent.

Surprising how many larger slips at the dock. Inner half seems to be mostly 30' and smaller. But outer half has lots of 40-45' sailboats.

Solid Marina, 2012-12-05
Captain: , Seabrook, TX (260)

The channel from Chesapeake Bay to Galesville, MD and Pirates Cove is tricky, especially at night. And even more so, when it was discovered just in time that someone had a fish trap in the middle of the channel.

After that adventure, it was pretty easy to get into one of Pirate Cove's slips. The restuarant was part of the complex shoreside. The crab cakes were excellent.

They have nice showers, a pumpout, and fuel. But, Galesville has no grocery stores. The Safeway is 15 miles away. Not good if you need to reprovision. Still, it was a great little town. One of Maryland's last true villages.

Pirates Cove Resturant, 2012-10-22
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (242)

We anchored out this weekend at the West River - 1 spot. Holding was good and we had easy access to the shore at the public dinghy dock. Right there was the Pirates Cove Resturant. The food was good and the service was great. The bread basket had fresh bread right out of the oven.

It is not 5 star dining but it was one of the better "anchorage" resturants we have been to on the bay. The view was very nice as we had dinner. We will certainly be back. Will want to do this in the summer when the outside bar is open

Full menu here versus more pub food at Thursdays next door.

Restaurant Monthly Specials, 2012-10-01
Captain: , Magothy River (319)

We always like to try the restaurant monthly specials when we dock here. They are always a good value.

Outstanding!, 2012-05-21
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (195)

We were stern-in on the T-head slips with a beautiful view of West River. Facilities were great and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I needed some cajun seasoning and the restaurant manager gave us some with his compliments. These are the small things that make me want to come back.

Anniversary Dinner, 2012-05-12
Captain: , Glenwood, MD (385)

I was really excited about trying The Inn at Pirates Cove after reading about it. I spoke with a friend that lives locally and gave it mediocre reviews. I called to make a reservation and inquired as to why some people reviewed the food and service as mediocre. I spoke with Bob that said he would guarantee I would like the food or he would pay for dinner.

I am glad we tried it. The food was good. I had the petite filet and my wife had the drunken shrimp. deserts were also very good and service was prompt and attentive.

Reasonable rates, 2012-05-01
Captain: , Great Falls, VA (1092)

With an overnight rate of $40 flat for transients its a great deal, limited number of slips though. Outdoor dock bar is terrific with live music most weekends.

Nice place to stop for lunch, 2011-05-08
Captain: , Gulfport Small Craft Harbor, MS (168)

There are 4 slips right outside the entrance that I think are for lunch/dinner stops...I used one and nobody said anything. Nice restaurant.

Pirates Cove, 2011-04-30
Captain: , Galesville, MD (1341)

The wine shop and restaurant across from Pirates Cove and the public dock has closed. The Pirates Cove restaurant and bar, Big Mary's, have good seafood and bar food. Pleasant marina that meets our needs.

Fun Place to eat and drink, 2010-09-21
Captain: , Chesapeake Bay MD (495)

Good bar food and drinks - easy to dock.
Can walk to a couple other restarants and wine store across street.

First Class, 2010-09-10
Captain: , West River, MD (50)

I keep my boat close by and this is my favorite watering hole for those after sailing stops.

With a dock adjacent to the Galesville Anchorage and the fact thay monitor CH 16 VHF,they are a great place to relax and have some good favorite is their crab cakes.

It is also a great place to see and watch boats.

Fun on Wednesday Night, 2009-02-01
Captain: , White Stone (8)

Pirate's Cove is home to the Pirate's Cove Race Commitee. Wednesday nights from April through November you can watch the start and finish of club races and then join most of the crews at Big Mary's for some post race celebration. The food is decent and the outside bar typically has some live music.
