Reviews for Pirate Cove Marina
Nice enough place, 2016-07-04
Captain: , Bedford, NH (625)

We are a 50' boat with a 3 1/2 draft. Very touchy going in but we didn't hit. Dock staff very friendly. Said there was plenty of water (7') but my depth sounder showed only 5. Lots of grass. Could have affected the sounder. Nothing around. Grounds are nice and there is a pool. Facilities are also nice and clean. Said we could get a cab to go to dinner. So glad we didn't. What they didn't tell us was that after they leave, they lock all the gates and you can't get out or in. If we had gone to dinner, we wouldn't have been able to get back in. We had ordered pizza and found out the gate situation when we met them at the gate. Had to slide the pizzas under the gate. No codes, cards or keys provided. Didn't like the feeling of knowing we were locked in. We should have been told.

NOT FOR LARGE CRUISERS, 2015-07-05
Captain: , Toronto Ontario (110)

Was assured min 5 ft depth. Draw 3.8 ft. Hit something in channel on way in. Owner said was a "clay hump" more than 4 ft. Wrong. Much higher than that. Now have a vibration (could it be caused by weeds?), so have to limp to a marina to have it hauled and maybe high cost.

Although nice docks and setting, facilities are not great and they charge too much, particularly with a $20 surcharge for additional 30 a plug (don't have 50 so need double 30).

Weeds weeds and more weeds., 2014-12-17
Captain: , ottawa (1002)

We stopped here in the fall of 2012 and had to stop half way into the harbour to clean the prop and twice on our way back out to the main channel. haveing said that the faciities our adaquate.

Stump in middle of entrance, 2012-08-18
Captain: , Longboat Key, FL. (20)

we draw 4 feet, hit a stump or?? in middle of entrance. Permanent slip holders confirmed, avoid the middle, hug the island side shore on entering. Staff friendly & facilities nice. Dog friendly.

One of our favorite stops, 2011-11-30
Captain: , Iroquois, ON (105)

along the Rideau waterway. Not fancy schmancy and the prices aren't out of reach for the budget boater. We'll stop again for sure.

Friendly and clean, 2011-08-04
Captain: , ottawa (20)

Nicely laid out with complete protection from wakes and current. Friendly staff. Slips all have grass picnic area attached. Pool is great. Bathrooms were clean. Very family oriented. Recieved prompt and efficient mechanical service.

Not meant for bigger boats, 2011-08-03
Captain: , Calgary, Alberta, Canada (854)

This is an older facility. Washrooms are not the cleanest on the Rideau and the docks are a bit rickety. Limited mechanical services.
