Reviews for Pirate's Cove Marina
Close to beach, 2016-03-17
Captain: , La Crosse, WI (627)

Very accommodating to transient boats, even with a focus on dry storage. Clean restrooms and showers. Jade was most helpful on directions to the beaches and St Andrews state park. It is a little tricky getting to the Marina. When you make the dogleg to the Marina stay between marker 1 and 2. Go slow. AGLCA discount.

Great marina and staff, 2016-01-23
Captain: , Garcon Point, FL (91)

Went by the marina today and got a private tour of the facilities. Wonderful place and very friendly staff. Jim,the marina director, showed us around and gave us a lot of information on local spots to explore. Thanks Jim!

good stopover!, 2015-11-26
Captain: , St Charles, MO (30)

The docks are in nice condition. Security guard on duty every night. really a good place to leave the boat if you must attend to other matters.

Rates are attractive, full staff is very helpful. Courtesy car readily available, free laundry, and mechanical service on site.

A beautiful beach is a short walk away.

We will stop here again, and recommend it to others.

A Real Gem, 2015-01-18
Captain: , Maryland Heights, MO (314)

We spent 3 weeks here in December 2014. From Sheila and Jim at the office to Chris and his team on the docks, everyone went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They have two large dry stack barns and no permanent wet slips, but seem more than happy to cater to transients. Good Wifi, excellent restrooms and showers, and free laundry. Your have to go across the lagoon to Lighthouse Marina (same ownership) for a pumpout. Very close to the public beach and St. Andrews State Park. Nice restaurant on site.

Pleasant surprise, 2014-11-28

Coming into this marina and seeing no other boat on the dock makes us uncomfortable, we were actually thinking seriously about relocating, I'm sure glad we didn't. What a nice group of people, helpful and friendly. There are a bunch of marinas in Panama City this one has a great proximity to the beach which is outstanding, a curiosity vehicle, free laundry (outside 1 washer/1dryer), they even came down when we were departing to help us off....who does that! We biked around and found several good places, I would definitely stop there again, and the loop rate of $1.00' awesome.

We really enjoyed our two day stay. The staff could not have been more helpful. My wife wants our shower remodeled like their's. laundry and courtesy car completely free~ and significant discount for loopers! Everyone was very friendly, would definitely go back.

Best customer service of any marina, 2013-02-01
Captain: , Oshkosh , WI (194)

They had the best customer service we have every encountered at a marina. Everyone was unbelievably polite. When you wanted to use the curtesy vehicle they would clean it and have it waiting for you. They delivered a newspaper to you every morning, good WiFi, Showers, cable TV and the laundry was FREE!! They also have a pool. They prices were great only $400. for 48' for the month. It was walking distance to the beach. We would definetly go back or recommend others to stop. We would have stayed longer but we are in search of warmer weather. Convenient to dingy to other restaurants, Shell Island or the beach. They did not have a pump out but you could use the Lighthouse Marina their sister marina.

Something has changed, 2013-01-25
Captain: , Galveston, TX (104)

I anchored in grand lagoon and dinghied over to inquire about a transient slip. Dockmaster told me it was 2.25/foot (40' mono-hull).

He also told me the entrance channel was only 4.5' at low tide (winter).
That wasn't enough depth for me so I asked if I could just pay to use the shower/laundry. He asked his boss and then told me no problem, I would just have to pay $145/week. I said no thanks. Nice guy though. Very polite.
Not sure where these other reviews came from. I think they may be confused with Treasure Island next door. Treasure Island let's me use their showers for free and they're dockage is 1.00/foot/day.

Great little marina, 2012-12-18

This a great little marina with very friendly and helpful people. You receive a free news paper every morning, have free WiFi, free cable TV, free laundry, a courtesy car, and an easy walk to the beach. Grocery store and liquor store are within walking distance.

There is no pump-out and they do not have diesel but their sister marina, The Lighthouse, is right next store and has diesel resonably price. We stayed here over a month and would highly recommend this marina.

Great place for Loopers, 2012-12-18
Captain: , shreveport (10)

Stayed there for a week. Had a newspaper delivered every morning, free courtesy car, wifi, cable & laundry. The staff was truly great and cared about our needs. The girls in the office are very professional and the director was as kind, courteous and helpful as anyone we've come across. We plan to stop in again and have told our friends as well

Nice place to stay, 2012-12-18

This was a nice place to stay, we loved the free laundry. It was just what we needed. The forklift for the dry stack storage was really cool to watch in action. Lots of freebies for us and we will stay there again.

Great little marina, 2012-05-30
Captain: , Cocoa Beach, Fl (20)

This marine only has one long dock, but it is the best little marina in the area. The Manager Jim Hamilton and all his staff are expert friendly and very very helpful. The marina is located close to groceries, shopping, and restaurants. They have washers and dryers, very clean showers and restrooms. On the premises is Tacky Jacks restaurant with a pool and tiki bar. The food was very good and the prices are comparable.
We will always stay at this little marina when we come this way, it is just a truly great place!

Pirate's Cove Marina, 2011-05-05
Captain: , Panama City Beach, Florida (30)

Sister Marina to the Lighthouse Marina, it is located across the Lagoon from LIghthouse and next door to Treasure Island Marina. Entrance can be a little tricky due to shallow entrance depths. Follow the markers into the lagoon and make a shallow turn to port before getting to the charted Grand Lagoon Channel Junction Light A. You will see three daymarkers. Keep the middle marker (currently has a flag on it) to your starboard. They have Gas ($4.73/gal as of 5/01/11) but no diesel and no pump out. Have most power requirements along with water and cable. Friendly personnel and clean bathrooms with Showers, pool and the restaurant is re opening in June 2011. Mechanics are available. They have fork lifts and can haul boats out up to about 18000 lbs depending on type. Groceries and food not really within walking distance but are a short cab ride away. Be prepared to pay a 20% fee on top of your bill if you have work done by an off site mechanic. Dock is not secure and they recently had a theft of some fishing equipment, otherwise it's quiet, scenic and a nice place to stay.
