Reviews for Pirate's Cove Marina - Closed
No more Capt. Andy, 2014-05-11
Captain: , Grand Isle (96)

After many years I have sold out my slip and ownership in Pirate's Cove Marina in Grand Isle. I really enjoyed working with all my fellow sailors who visited our island. For now I plan to spend most of my time on Happy Ours (grandislesailors.com). If I am in the area and can assist try 504-915-0447

Total Private Marina, 2014-04-28
Captain: , George West (80)

This is a totally private marina. We called Andy before going in and he said we could have his slip as he was not there. We got in at 1am and took the first open slip just for the night and would move the next day if need be. The new dockmaster had a small comeapart first thing the next morning. We apologized and told him we had spoke to Andy and he said Andy didn't work there any longer. We moved on to Sand Dollar marina. Whoever bought the marina has made the fuel dock and facility private, no fuel available to anyone, it is a very odd setup now, i don't recommend anyone try this place in the future.

Grand Isle - A wonderful port in a storm, 2013-11-22
Captain: , Corpus Christi, TX (106)

We were crossing the Gulf when weather forced us into Grand Isle. What a great place! Andy found a slip for us at Pirates Cove. It's a private marina, but they do allow an occasional transient if they have room. Andy and Sue treated us like family and made our stay wonderful!

Wonderful Welcom, 2013-06-26
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (980)

We were coming in from the Gulf after two days on the Hook. Andy helped us with weather information, insturctions on entering harbor and was there to meet us at the fuel dock. This is a private marina, but they made us feel welcom and found a place for us to tie up safe for the night.
I wish I could give them more than 5 stars...

Nicest people ever, many thanks to Captain Andy and ken, 2013-05-22
Captain: , Watergate Marina, Clear Lake Shores, TX (45)

En route from Pensacola to Galveston, we stopped at the marina after a rough night sail and a sick first mate. Nicest people you'd ever want to meet at the marina and Grand Isle. Small marina, well protected, good escape from bad weather between FL and TX.

We can vouch for Cap Andy, 2010-11-22
Captain: , Ocean Springs MS (1063)

Best hospitality on the entire Gulf

Since Hurricane Katrina our marina has become private, but if you are sailing in this area and really need a safe place to spend the night contact dockmaster Andy Galliano - 504-915-0447 (captandyg@hotmail.com) (www.grandislesailors.com) and he will try to assist you. Andy sails an Irwin 41 and enjoys meeting other sailors.
