Reviews for Pirate's Cove Marina
Top notch, excellent service and great facilities, 2016-10-06
Captain: , Ontario (20)

The unfortunate part was I had my boat break down.
Left her in the capable hands of Paul at Pirate's Cove.
Every email I sent was answered quickly and he took care of my
boat even asking if it arrived safely when transported to my home port in St Catharine's Ontario

Hospitality Galore!, 2016-09-28

Great little marina. Made to feel very welcome at this stop! Used the courtesy car to catch a movie and do a quick grocery run. Highly recommend this Marina.

Staff and seasonals were very friendly and helpful.
Pool and restaurant were a pleasant addition.
Docks are old but renovations are underway and partially complete.
We've stopped here several times and will be back.

Stopped again on the return...stayed 2 days and anjoyed ourselves.
Girls took advantage of the courtesy car to do some local shopping.
Paul & Patti are great...seasonals treated us like we were part of their family

We have stayed at Pirate's Cove twice and Paul and Patti are wonderful hosts - as a matter of fact, they could hold a seminar on how to treat people right! The courtsey car and pool are a definate benefit to this marina. I highly recommend Pirate's Cove

Great Staff and Management, very family friendly, 2016-07-24
Captain: , Sylvan Beach, NY (20)

Came here with 2 other boats and Patti & Capt. Paul could not have been more helpful and service oriented. They made arrangements for our 3 boats to be close together.
Pool is great, pump-out fantastic and the WiFi works great. Rates are reasonable water & power included. A Must stop for 1 or more nights, when on the Oneida River traveling.

Best place ever, 2016-07-23

Captain: , Waukegan IL (10)

Patti and Paul couldn't be more gracious and helpful hosts. They run a well maintained facility and go far beyond any reasonable expections to insure you have a wonderful visit. Mechanical services by competent technicians are available if needed. A nice pool, nice courtesy car and on-site restaurant are a plus. You won't be disappointed if you stay overnight or longer.

Awesome place to stay, 2016-07-17
Captain: , Waterloo, NY (10)

We have stopped there over the years and every year it keeps getting better and better. We recently stopped there for a few days and had a great time. We have two younger children and it's clean and child friendly. The kids had a great time in the in ground pool, on the swing set and riding their bikes in the parking lot. Live music at the restaurant and an overall great atmosphere made our trip up the canal so enjoyable. This place is highly recommended....

Great place to leave your boat, 2016-07-06
Captain: , Southwest Harbor, Maine (10)

We left our Grand Banks 36 here for almost a month in June 2016 while we returned home to catch up. Paul and Patti could not have been more helpful and friendly, plus very competent. When we returned 3 weeks later, they had turned our refridgeration on, and clearly kept lines on boat adjusted. Clean and neat yard, on site restaurant that while not fancy, had good food and suited us well. I would be hard to recommend a place and people more highly.

6/9/16 Launch Leave rig for 10 days, 2016-06-21
Captain: , Fairhaven MA (446)

We trailed the 25 Whaler out from MA, launched and left the rig while crusing the Canal West to Tonawanda. They coulldn't have been more helpful along with the on site DOX restaurant. Great food and country music. On our return got great advise on boat retreival (wet the bunks first and get the trailer level). Overall great marina to start, overnight or re-fuel on an Erie Canal cruise.

Perfect in every way!, 2016-06-21
Captain: , Sandy Pond (10)

This is a great place to bring your boat and stay for the night, or indefinitely! It is a great location and close to so many things. The owners are so welcoming and friendly. They have always taken great care in repairing our boat when it has issues. I would highly recommend Pirates Cove to anyone!

Keeps getting better, 2016-06-11
Captain: , Cleveland (2083)

We have returned to Pirate's Cove Marina annually for many years. We highly recommend staying here, getting work done and/or storing your boat here. Paul and Taylor are knowledgeable mechanics who will help you work on your own projects if you want to do some work yourself. Thanks to Paul, Patti and Taylor we usually end up staying longer than planned. The marina has a great feel to it, old home friendly attitudes. They are continuously making improvements to the docks and facilities. It is relatively quiet, friendly and family oriented. It has an on-site restaurant, swimming pool and children's play area. The grounds are very well kept.

Great Service - Nice People, 2015-11-04
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale FL (124)

We were looking for someplace open during our end of season transit of the Erie. Luckily, we stopped here. The got us tied up quickly and plugged in so we stayed warm.

The restaurant was open with friendly people (like Patty and her crew at the marina). We certainly enjoyed our stay.

Anyone with a pirate statue in the Marina Office can't be all bad, I always say.

Valued life saverrs, 2015-09-19
Captain: , Meredith, NH (638)

Stopped 7/21 - 7/24 with battery trouble. They were happy to solve a long time problem we have had with our batteies. They rewired them & replaced 2 8D's with 4 6D's while we visited an old college friend. They could not have been more helpful.

Paul still believes in people, 2015-08-01
Captain: , Pinnacle, NC, USA (1422)

And that expression spealks volumes. Pirates Cove is the Olversons of the Erire -- for all the same reasons -- exceptional service. We used his central location as a base for our trailerable trawler. We went to Tanawanda and back, east and north to Burlignton and back while he stored our truck & trailer under roof. He did an expert job color matching a gelcoat ding, serviced the engine and re-applied antifoulng.

Great Marina, 2015-06-12
Captain: , Lumberton MS (40)

This place may be small, but Paul the manager made up for it. He went out of his way to take our friends to the airport early one morning, and let us use his courtesy car with no time limits as long as no one else needed to borrow it. Would definitely go back for this type of hospitality.

We will be back., 2015-06-10
Captain: , Illinois (2469)

We love the Erie Canal and plan to return many times. We hope to center our next tour from this marina. Paul and Patty are great people.
Very clean showers and grounds and a picturesque Marina setting.
We appreciate the loan of tools and transportation.

Wonderful in all aspects, 2015-02-21
Captain: , Summerlin, NV (350)

We stayed there for 5 days in mid-August and have only praise for the facility and it's owners. Delightful marina, relaxed and very clean. Restroom and showers also nice and very clean. There is a pool on the grounds that makes for a nice relaxing afternoon, and their small store includes the boater necessities. Nice single lane launch ramp with room to store your vehicle/trailer. Our crusing of the Canal had to stop there becuase of our timeframe, but we still wanted to see Niagara Falls. Enterprise rental car will pick you up there so we rented a car and enjoyed an intervening 2-day trip to the Falls. The marina owner/family are extremely nice and very helpful the moment you might have a question. We really enjoyed our stay!

Truly a great spot, 2014-10-07
Captain: , Key Largo (5340)

docked there for three days, left my trailer and truck there while cruising the Erie, for three weeks.

Great folks, Not overpriced. Reasonalbe prices for dockage, clean showers, and restrooms, laundry, good place to store the boat, either on the hard or in the water.

Highly Recommended!, 2014-09-10
Captain: , Cobourg, Ontario (10)

We stayed one night on our way home to Toronto from Long Island. The owners, Paul and Patti, greeted us at the dock with a warm smile and helped us tie up. Paul offered us a car to go to town for supplies which was an enexpected treat when you've been on the water for days. We definitely took him up on that offer! The marina is easily accessed and very scenic. It was so nice to stay at Pirates Cove and I would recommend it to anyone. "A home away from home".

Thank you Paul and Patti for your hospitality!

Great Place to "Nest" - Quiet and Comfortable, 2014-09-09
Captain: , San Juan Capistrano, CA (90)

Stayed a month while we explored local area via boat and rental car. Clean restroom, shower, laundry and pool. Reasonable rates with friendly and helpful staff. (can arrange for loaner car). Note restaurant (DOX) has limited food service hours and reduced open days after Labor Day. We're planning on returning next spring on our way to Canada.

Excellent Marina, 2013-11-23
Captain: , Bronte Outer Harbour Marina (70)

We were at Pirate's Cove for 2 weeks due to a lock closure on the Erie Canal. We were treated like family.....and the facilities were excellent. We couldn't have been 'stranded' at a better place. Would go out of our way to stay there again.

How Lucky was I? Summer 2007, 2011-03-31
Captain: , Rochester,new york (20)

I was cruising from lake erie, thru erie canal,to Lake Ontario, when I blew a voltage regulater, approaching Lock 1 on the Oswego river(headed north to the lake)I was directed from that lock to Pirates Cove(back about 1.5 miles)When I docked,Capt Paul assesed my problem,1st mate Taylor helped with the fix.The folks there were so nice,I spent several weeks.I enjoyed their pool, resturant, and fellow boater's.You really get a bird's eye view,of all sorts of cruiser's,as they pass right by in front of you.The neat thing is there are 3 old sunken barge's in front of the marina, they not only attract wildlife, but act as a breakwall from any wake, really neat!Thank's Captain Paul!
