Reviews for Pink Shell Resort Marina
Great stay, 2016-10-12
Captain: , Naples, Fl (161)

We stayed here for the weekend while attending the Summerset Regatta. Top notch facility: floating docks, bathrooms, showers, access to resort pools, bar, restaurant, ... Personnel was friendly and helpful. I have to call out the team at the harbor masters office: you are great! Docking and getting out can be tricky with currents, wind, and such here. They were always there to lend a hand.
Taxi rides can bring you to nearby Ft Myers beach bars and restaurants. Enjoy it!
We will be there again for sure.

Great service, 2016-03-30
Captain: , Melbourne FL (40)

We arrived on Easter Sunday and were met and assisted by Craig, a very friendly & helpful member of the staff. We had called several hours out and they said they could only get me in for one night, though we had hoped to stay two. When we arrived, Craig told me they had done some shuffling and I could stay in the slip for two nights. Staff was very helpful getting me into the slip in spite of opposing winds & current - kept me from scraping the hull. Enjoyed a nice sunset dinner at Bongo's Beach Bar the first night and at Jack's (fine dining) the second night. Both are part of the resort complex and both were very nice. Agree with comments about wakes from passing boats during the day, but We would love to return.

Great choice, 2016-03-20
Captain: , Grosse Pointe Michigan (51)

The other reviews are spot on. Dave and Craig are first class, very nice resort with pools, dining, beach, etc. Upscale location commands a bit of premium for dockage, but worth it.

super facilities, 2016-01-31
Captain: , Wickford, RI (411)

The Pink Shell Marina is a nice change from crowded, packed in marinas. There is only one row of boats on excellent floating docks with finger piers. Dave and Craig are great dockmasters. Easy pump out right at your slip and they do it all.
Wind was up out of the east and the fetch caused a very lumpy first night.
Trolley service, now $.75 or $.35 for 65 and over, is convenient and dependable. A good way to take a tour of the island.
New restaurant on prem, Jack's , is wonderful. Local and sustainable produce, fish, and meat. Chef David is superb.
Heated pools were awesome as were amenities: towels, chaises, full service lunch menu and drinks.
Wonderful walking beach. Firm white sand.
We will be back!

Top Service, Excellent Location, Lots to Do, 2016-01-09
Captain: , Longboat Key, FL (944)

As much as we have crusied the Gulf waters, this was our first visit to Pink Shell primarily based on the reviews in Active Captain. First and foremost, the level of service and attention is among the best. Dave, the dockmaster, was very helpful, informative and friendly. The staff at the resort were a delight and the services available (pools, beach, water toys, bar, restaurant and spa) were about as nice as it gets. The marina showers and head, while very nice, were not the most convienent, located accross the street around the side of another building. Floating docks are in excellent condiiton, well cared for and easy in / out. Because the docks face the open channel that runs father into Fort Myers Beach, there is a lot of traffic that can make for some rough passing wakes (even though it is a no wake zone). Other than that, this is a wonderful and worthwhile place to spend a few days.

We love this place!!, 2015-12-30
Captain: , Marco Island, Florida (20)

Since this facility reopened 2 years or so ago we've stayed there a number of times. The docks are great, staff is so helpful, and the resort across the street is excellent. There is a trolley stop right in front of the dockmaster to take you to Fort Myers Beach ($0.50, must have exact change). Only negative is the water in front of the marina is always rough, docking can be difficult if you are coming stern in.

Our club is here with 8 boats. As usual we thouroughly enjoy being here. The facililty is first rate, and Doug and Erick are exemplary in their help and attitude.

Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (118)

We arrived last minute after a mechanical problem and were greeted warmly by the dockmaster. We were given a great spot with a side tie and the whole crew got a great orentation of the property and amenities. This is a great family destination, with what might be the best set of swimming pools anywhere!

Great service and resort amenities, 2015-06-04
Captain: , Apollo Beach, FL (928)

This is a great place to stay, especially with the 10% discount offered to several groups. The marina staff is terrific and the resort amenities are great. Three pools, beach, free bicycle rental, access to water sports, restaurants, laundry, etc. are all very nice. The modern, floating docks have movable cleats and Craig did one of the best jobs securing my boat to the dock that I have ever seen. When I asked for a pump out, Dave did it all; I just stood and watched. The marina is small but the service is excellent. The trolley transportation is a good way to get to the rest of the island, but schedules are flexible so you may have to wait quite a while to catch one going the way you want. The resort is very kid friendly with a lot of activities to keep them busy. The business office has several computers and a printer that are free to use. It is easy to see why this has an Active Captain 1st rating.

Resort Marina, 2015-03-28
Captain: , Deltaville VA (121)

Very nice, easy to get in/out, dock staff are excellent, convenient to the Ft. Myers Beach area. Beautiful beach access and pools (there is a great kid-friendly pool, and a quieter adult pool, so this is good spot if kids on board). Gave it only 4 stars due to the shower facilities, which is an area for improvement. It is the restroom used by resort guests at the pool, so it gets VERY wet (slippery) and messy from people using it while at pool. The shower stalls do not have any separate dressing area and pool guests are coming and going while you are trying to dress and dry hair. Other than that it's a great place if you want resort type amenities.
2 onsite restaurants - Jack's serves buffet breakfast and Bongo's is poolside bar. Did not try Jacks. Bongos was good for a lunch sandwich. Mantanzas in town was excellent!

Great Place, 2015-03-26
Captain: , Racine Wisconsin (161)

Dave and Craig are truly service oriented. They know top notch service people too. Referred divers, Scott Adams, to pull my props. Scott took them to m&M for repair. Job complete in 36 hours.

Resort is included in price of 2.60/ft. Great beach.

Wonderful place!, 2015-03-24
Captain: , Barrington RI (475)

This is a great marina just before Matanzas pass! Dock hands are very helpful, and Dave, the marina manager is always around to help you out.

You will get an occasional rock-&-roll from passing traffic, as boats head into and out of the marina.

Great Stop, 2015-03-04
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (10)

The marina is fantastic. Easy to pull in and out, even for a new boater. The staff and dockmaster are friendly and do an excellent job of helping you dock and get settled in. Great, friendly people. The facilities are top notch. Showers, even though across the street in the restort, are very good and stocked with soap and shampoo. The resort is fantastic. The beach is beautiful. Pools and recreational facilities are fun and wonderful for kids. Restaurants are good. The resort is a short walk from the pier and the restaurants and shopping there. We highly recommend the Pink Shell and will return whenever we can.

Previous reviews are spot on!, 2014-12-23
Captain: , Chicago, IL (958)

This is the life! Awesome marina staff and a fun resort/beach just across the street. Floating docks are in great shape, Dave & Craig there to help tie up/shove off - they go out of their way to make you feel welcome; rent a slip and you have access to all the amenities of the resort - pool, beach toys, beach chairs/umbrellas. Try to arrive at slack tide, unless you enjoy docking against a current. Only downside is the marina is right on the Pass - it is a no wake zone, not always observed, and as we often say on Active Captain some boaters are just stupid and you can't fix stupid.

This Marina is one of the BEST Marinas we have stayed at on the Florida West Coast. The Marina staff is very helpful and friendly to all the boaters. Our exprerience with Dave O'Connor and Craig Houser was the BEST! They were always available to help us whenever we requested help or information. Thank You Dave and Craig.

Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (396)

Once you'r in ... It's great!
No bathrooms unless you walk across the street to the resort. Tide current can be an issue, but staff is helpful CALL THEM !
Trolley .. Or walk ... To downtown.
I would go again ... But try for slack tide!

One of the Best Stops on the Gulf Coast, 2014-07-18
Captain: , Louisville (291)

We visited here twice (with different guests) in late June, 2014. Dave and Craig are excellent dockmasters, and do a very good job helping you dock in varying wind and tidal conditions. Be aware of cross currents, given the marina's location so close to the inlet.

Use of the pools, beaches, and even water sports equipment is included in your dockage, making this a good value for the price. One opportunity for improvement is the onsite food. The quality we experienced was lacking, but it was a very busy time for them. Take your dighy or the shuttle down to Salty Sam's or to Doc Ford's.

very good (not perfect), 2014-06-20
Captain: , miami (120)

The dockmaster was excellent, he was expecting us (not all that common...), was waiting at the dock to help us tie up, and in fact did most of the tying up himself! Docks were in excellent condition. The downside was that you had to walk across the street and into the resort for bathrooms or showers, which was a little inconvenient, but not too bad. Expensive, like most FL marinas, but in stark comparison to the night before at Marco Island (at about half the price).

Lots to do from here, 2014-06-20
Captain: , St. Petersburg (749)

We treated ourselves to a resort marina. We enjoyed the beach and the pool - free towels. Took the bus to the south end of the island and then hopped off at Time Square on the way back. We enjoyed the activity of that area with shops and restaurants (touristy) then walked back to the marina.

Cruisers' Paradise, 2014-06-18
Captain: , Treasure Island, FL (10)

Hosted 14 boats cruising the area in May 2014...what a fantastic place. Marina guests got all the resort amenities, the marina was well maintained and the Dock Master Dave O'Conner and Craig could not have been more helpful and pleasant. A remarkable place and staff.

Great stop in Ft Myers Beach, 2014-06-07

Dave and Craig do a great job making you feel right at home at this first class resort. Planning on returning next year for another extended stay. Plent of thing to do in the surrounding area.

Top Notch Marina/Resort, 2014-04-19
Captain: , Orange Beach, AL (263)

Stayed several times en route to and from the keys, specifically planned to spend two nights here in both directions. Dave and Craig go out of their way to make you as comfortable as possible, real customer service, nothing "out of the can". Facilites are fantastic, best I have stayed at in the Gulf of Mexico. The resort has everything you could need to stay entertained and relaxed for several days. The Trolley is $0.50 and runs all over the island including publix, and the large entertainment district. Even if you have to take a cab, most are 10 min wait or less and cost less than $10 for most places on the island. Could not reccomend more highly. Current can be strong, but the staff is very helpful and knowledgable with handling lines.

What a GOLD mine!, 2014-04-13
Captain: , Conroe, TX (50)

This place was exactly as advertised. Fantastic. Dockmasters, Dave & Craig go out of their way to make you feel like family. Clean, great restaurants and super beach and facilities. Transportation on trolley is first class, and the trolley drivers are absolutely cool. Water can be a little bumpy with strong winds, but whatever.

wonderful marina, 2014-03-27

Roberto and Maria
Kadey Krogen 48' Gratitude.
Stayed here 3 nights 3/24 through 3/27. Dave the dock master was as wonderful on the phone as he was in person. Very helpful, welcoming and eager to please. The marina has great new floating docks, clean shower and facilities. Marina guests have full use of the SPA, steam room, more showers etc. Cross the street and you are in the beach. Trolly across the street takes you all over the island for 50 cents. Coming back very soon.

Geeks in the Pink!, 2014-03-01
Captain: , Castine, Maine (2964)

Pink Shell Marina is a wonderful marina which is part of the Pink Shell Resort. The docks are modern and new and the staff is terrific. But the best part is that transients receive full resort privileges. You're issued a wristband at check in that not only gets you into all the facilities with a simple swipe of the wrist, it also allows you to run a tab at the bar, restaurant, spa, etc. No need to schlep your wallet. The bar by the pool is the perfect spot to watch the sunset and they have a variety of ways to entice you there.

There are multiple pools including several made for entertaining the grand kids with waterfalls and fun sculptures. Walk through the resort and you are on the beach which is one of the few we've found that allows leashed dogs.

It's only a 7/10's of a mile walk down the beach to Times Square, a boardwalk like strip of shops, restaurants, and ice cream. Or you can catch the trolley in front of the resort for only 50 cents. This is one of the few very children friendly stops we've seen. With the resort hotel across the street, it makes this a perfect place to meet family or friends. It's an even better place to just spend some relaxing time alone.

don't miss this!, 2014-02-12
Captain: , Essex, CT (223)

I have never been sad to leave a marina before. Beautiful location, bit of motion with the passing "no wake" boats so better to back in which is easy to do. Pump out is free with a nights dockage and is state of the art at the slip. Garden and walking trail runs the length of the docks and dogs are allowed on the world class Fort Myers beach! Trolley runs often, resort is great.

Add To Your List of Finest SWFL Marinas, 2014-02-12
Captain: , Punta Gorda. FL (360)

First visit impressions of the new (to us) marina: There is easy access to the quality floating docks, professionally attended by dock masters Craig and Dave. They are trying hard to please boaters. Slipside pump out is available. The dock is open to the public but they do have a night time security patrol. It%u2019s only a short walk across the un-busy street to the fine beach resort with its lovely main pool and casual bar/restaurant. Great beach sunsets. Boaters share somewhat un-private but not too busy showers with the %u201Cadult pool%u201D, hidden three buildings north. Free towel service. As you sit on your boat you%u2019ll be treated to an endless parade of almost every imaginable type watercraft. You%u2019ll rock a bit, courtesy the clueless small boaters who have little understanding of idle speed or wake. Walk a mile south to the square where the center of old Fort Myers Beach action still thrives. Trolleys run frequently to the square but erratically south of the bridge due to northbound traffic congestion trying to get back across to the mainland. The Lover%u2019s Key trolley seems to just give up between1630 and 1930. There are no fine dining opportunities on the north end of the island, but it%u2019s only a six dollar taxi ride south to the excellent Fresh Fish Bistro and several others. Nice to have another topnotch marina here in southwest Florida run by folks who want your business.

Five star Plus, 2014-01-29
Captain: , Gloucester, VA (60)

We stayed at Pink Shell February 22nd through the 27th. The weather was cool but it is a fantastic place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. As Marina guest you have access to all resort amenities. Heated pools, fitness center, steam room, spa bathrooms and showers etc. The beach is beautiful. There are restaurants on site and the public bus will take you to the local supermarket or Publix. The town of Ft. Myers Beach is within walking distance. A great place if you have family visiting. Great for children as well.

Pink Shell Marina, 2013-12-24
Captain: , Sandwich (692)

Took advantage of the 7-night docking electric included along with all of the resort amenities. A trolley service runs continuously all day for 50 cents/ride with a stop at Publix. Bowditch Point state park is adjacent to the marina. Ft. Myers Beach "Times Square" is a 10 minute walk with all the funky beachy type shops and restaurants. The marina on Matanzas Pass is exposed to the north-northeast wind but if you can put up with the lap-lap-lap worth the stay.

Very Good Marina and Resort, 2013-11-26
Captain: , Sarasota, FL (130)

We were supposed to stay 3 nights but it ended up 2 nights because of forecasted weather problems for our 4 hour trip home. Excellent marina and resort plus a trolley into town. Some slapping at night but not that bad. We'll go back and the dockmaster Dave is extremely helpful.

Great marina and resort, 2013-07-05
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (250)

Brand new floating docks but the real bonus here is the excellent staff, especially dockmaster Dave. Not only helping get set up in your slip, but also taking the time to fully explain all of the features and amenties of the marina and resort. The kid friendly resort offers all you need: great pools w/ towel service, beach, restaurants, etc. Will definelty come back and stay longer!

Good Fort Myers Beach marina, 2013-05-06

The current is strong here so watch your docking. The resort is excellent--nice showers/laundry/use of the resort pool and beach. Towels furnished. Good restaurants onsite. Easy walk to beach venues.

Great resort outstanding staff, 2013-03-17
Captain: , Bonita Springs, FL (411)

We just stayed for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The pump outs are working and located at each slip. Nine foot depth at our slip, it's a no wake zone, slept like a baby. The resort was terrific and the restaurants gave us great service and good food, The marina staff could not have been more helpful especially the dock master David. Whatever we needed to know or do, he was there for us. Our experience at Pink Shell was top notch.
We can't wait to go back, especially with our grandchildren.

Great Marina, 2013-03-13
Captain: , Cape Coral, FL (334)

Went in with a club with 20 boats. First group for new docks and attended formal ribbon-cutting. Lack of showers and restrooms at marina is a problem for only the smallest boats. We were treated royally and immediately booked for a trip next year.

Very nice new marina/resort, 2013-01-30
Captain: , Athens, NY (81)

We're just finishing a week's stay at Pink Shell Marina/Resort, which has been great. We've enjoyed the swimming pools, ocean beach, nearby beach park, trolleys to Lovers Key beach park, Publix grocery, Mound House historical site, and area restaurants. Trolley fare is only 50 cents, or 25 cents for those of 55 years or older. We would have given a rating of five stars rather than four if the marina pumpout were working (promised in another few weeks), and if there were bathrooms and showers available besides those in the across the street hotel (available 930am to 500pm only). Dockmaster and his staff were available and very helpful.

Brand New-Check this out, 2013-01-12
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

Pink Shell is just finishing its new floating docks, which will be the first marina on your starboard as you enter Mantanzas pass. They have a new Dockmaster, Dave, who will go out of the way to accomadate your stay. As for any marina in the pass, try to go in around slack tide, or you will have a strong current to deal with as you dock. But the floating docks are brand new and great to use. Their pump out will be functional at each slip within a week or so. There is no fuel here.

Be Prepared: this is a different concept. If you stay at the marina your facilities are across the street at the Pink Shell Resort. The Resort is beautiful with 3 pools, and access to the beautiful Ft. Myers Beach. We plan on having our kids and grandkids join us while we stay on the boat at the new docks, but have access to the resort, pools, restaurants, spas, etc. Perfect.
However, that means that the restroom/showers are in the hotel. They eventually have plans to build facilities right at the dock, but for now you have to "rough it" and cross the street to the resort. The rates are very reasonable for the area, so this is a great stop.

I rate it a 4Star only because they do not have full restroom/showers at the dock. But everything else is great if you want access to a resort with all its facilities for yourself or guests.
