Reviews for Pier 1 1/2
City Access But Surge, 2013-07-17
Captain: , Alameda (182)

Wonderful location and reasonable four hour limit are great but surge is major. Double up your fenders and using spring lines (plural). Space is limited and there is not a lot of room for manoevering

Bouncy, but convenient, 2013-05-27
Captain: , Vallejo (161)

Wakes make this dock bouncy, but the location cannot be beat. There is a few hour time limit.

Best kept secret, 2012-02-20
Captain: , San Fransisco Bay (88)

I believe the only free pubic docking in the city. 4 hour limit gives you time to explore and eat at one of the nice restaurants.

Great Spot to Take a Break, 2011-02-07
Captain: , Coyote Point, San Mateo, CA (139)

When you need to take a break from the Slot or you are in route to your sailing destination, this is a great spot to tie up for a couple hours and stretch your legs taking in the sights - not to mention its free! The Ferry Building and many excellent restaurants are next door. My son and I made use of the pier last weekend and it was a perfect stop for lunch.

Free City Front Public Dock, 2010-07-24
Captain: , Redwood City, Ca (106)

One of the few free city front docks in SF. Surge and wake from ferries can be strong so be sure you have fenders and maybe some extra dock lines. A great place to put in for some lunch at the Ferry building.
