Reviews for Phat Shag Moorings
East corner mooring, 2017-02-28
Captain: , Stratham (735)

We were at the end of Princess MArgaret Beach for the first three nights on anchor. Lovely.
But the wind piped up into the 20s, along with chop and roll. We called Shag and he didn't reply. (He doesn't have a VHF.) He had come out to offer a mooring in the first day and the second but we declined at the time.
Called Daffodil and while she has moorings in the NW corner she acknowledged it would not be much calmer. However, she got on the horn and raised another boat boy Blue Sky who led us to a mooring in the East corner off the restaurants, in 10 ft of water. Much better. Dove on the mooring. While it is not conventional, I can't imagine budging all the gear. Turns out the mooring is "owned" by Shelton but he said he would follow up with Blue Sky. So it seems they are working cooperatively together, much like the boat boys in Dominica.

Moorings in Amiralty Bay, 2012-06-13
Captain: , Washington, DC (840)

The guide books warn you off of the private moorings and say the north side of the bay is best. We found that there were too many of the %u201Cbad%u201D moorings on the north side and the north side is not the most attractive part of the harbor. Phat Shag, who looks like John Belushi doing his Samurai routine on SNL, will come by an offer you a mooring, or one of the boat boys. If you get a boat boy, ask for one of Phat Shag%u2019s moorings and only pay Fitzy on the Phat Shag boat. While we were there Fitzy, the owner, came by and dove on the moorings to check them. This is the entrepreneurial bay. Several boats will come by offering everything from laundry service to teak refinishing. There are numerous restaurant/bars on the southeast shore.
