DNR Rate Schedule D. Rates vary per slip size and slips are assigned to accommodate the LOA (not model length), beam, draft, and customer requests (near friends, close to shore, port/starboard tie, etc).

Staff will assign the best slip for your vessel, this sometimes means a larger slip due the true LOA of the vessel including swim decks/tenders/and bow pulpit, request of a preferred side tie, beam, draft and/or any additoinal requests. Staff may grant a reduced rate if the boat is significantly smaller than the slip assigned or because a larger slip is all that is available. By no means is staff trying to only increase revenue, they simply want visitors to have the best spot available to be safely tied up. It should be noted that 45 foot slips (Pier C) are brand new, have dock side pump-out, wider beams, wider piers and are preferred over the 42 foot slips (Pier B) which are older and narrower. Generally speaking, visitors prefer to have the new/wider slips with pump-out.

30 foot slip is $39.00.
38 foot slip is $52.00.
42 foot slip is $62.00.
45 foot slip is $67.00.
60 foot slip is $89.00.
80 foot slip is $1.36 per foot.

Reviews for Petoskey Municipal Marina
Nice facilities, nice town, 2016-09-05
Captain: , North East, MD (356)

The city marina was fairly close to downtown and had good facilities. The downtown has lots of shops and restaurants and is a pleasant walk. However, groceries were a 3/4 mile walk uphill. Wal-Mart is 2.5 miles, also uphill.

Great five star stop, 2016-09-01
Captain: , Blanco, TX (460)

Agree with previous review, everything about this marina and town were well worth the stop. The marina, the park, and downtown area all beautifully maintained, lots to see and do in Petoskey.

A Most Enjoyable Stop, 2016-08-17
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4015)

The city of Petoskey and the marina make this a great stop on a cruise. Communications on the phone and radio are excellent. A dock hand shows you to your slip and takes your lines. Registration is efficient and a packet in information materials is given each boater.

The park system along the shore is extensive, beautiful, and well maintained. Town is fun to walk with interesting shops and restaurants. A high quality arts gallery has been developed in an old church building.

Our visits have always been a five star experience.

Petoskey even better now, 2016-08-09
Captain: , Big Torch Key, FL (1956)

Petoskey added 50 new slips, half 38' and the other half 45'. This has made it a lot easier to secure dockage. It also re-modeled its bathhouse, showers, laundry and boater's lounge. Surruounded by beautiful park lands and just across the road from a vibrant downtown area, it should be a must stop on all cruisers visiting north west Lake Michigan. Strong Wi-Fi and excellent ATT 4G LTE serivce.

Well worth a visit, 2016-07-22
Captain: , Naples, FL (682)

Petoskey is one of the prettiest and friendliest towns on Lake Michigan. The marina is modern and well maintained with very good facilities incorporating laundry and small boaters' lounge. The town of Petoskey is very close by on the other side of a tree filled waterfront park. The town itself is restored to its former glory that brought the likes of Ernest Hemingway for summer visits. It is also a safe place to leave the boat and travel for a few days.

Another Great Michigan Marina, 2016-07-09
Captain: , La Crosse, WI (627)

Spent the 4th of July there. Excellent location with the thriving downtown. Nice local museum in the park. Great bike trails. Friendly and helpful staff. Small convenience store near, but no grocery store.

We loved Petoskey and its Marina, 2015-09-06
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (780)

another great michigan dnr facility 2 blocks from a thriving dowtown area. marina is in very good shape and the staff does a good job. Easy walk around town, good restaurants and shops (some were excellent) on most streets, lots of people around and in the bars/restaurants. we stayed for 3 days, rented a car and went around the area to the 3 neighboring towns. One of the highlights of Lake Michigan.

great stop, lots going on in town, 2015-08-22
Captain: , Ft Myers, Florida (1663)

Beautiful, well protected marina, fuel available at large fuel dock.
Easy walk to very interesting town, lots of special events , shops and restaurants. Marina is right on 26 mile bike trail to Harbor Springs, Bay Harbor and Charlevoix.Enterprise will pick u up M-F closed on weekends. Many big box stores but you'll need a car or taxi.

Another Micigan DNR jewel, 2015-08-15
Captain: , Beverly, MA (1140)

All new and revamped. Docks are the typical DNR construction. Wide and solid. Posts creat a problem for your fenders, suggest horizontal placement against the posts. Town is fantastic. Lots of places to eat, shop and see. There is a West Marine just 2 blocks away. Staff are helpful. There is a beach close by and a park where several events are held thru out the year. A museam behind the shower facility. All in all a great stop heading south.

Admiral Didn't Want to Leave, 2015-07-29
Captain: , Green Bay, WI (400)

Spent 4 nights 11-14 July beautiful town(s) wonderful people walk to West Marine and 24 hr 7-11, healthy food grocery and tons of shops, restaurants and bars + live music and Victorian period homes. Great bicycle paths to Bay Harbor, Harbor Springs and even Charlevoix! We'll be back for sure...

And there IS a grocery, 2015-07-04
Captain: , Iuka, MS (1120)

Beautiful town, very nice clean marina. Grain Train Market is just up the hill from the marina 0.4 mile/8 minute walk. Harbor can be a bit bouncy, but not as bad as Mackinaw marinas with the ferries.

Great stop on Lake Michigan, 2014-09-09
Captain: , Fort Myers Beach, FL (361)

We spent two very nice nights here. They have all the amenities we needed. Friendly staff, nice faclility.
There was a festivel in the nearby park with live bands, etc.

One of Our Favorite Stops on Lake Michigan, 2014-09-07
Captain: , Milwaukee, WI (358)

What a great town! Walking distance to many shops, bars, and restaurants. It's hilly, though there is a shuttle into town if you really need it during the summer. The hills give you nice views of Little Traverse Bay from many vantage points, though.

The marina is nice, too, with nice bathrooms, decent laundry, and friendly staff. There can be a surge in certain wave conditions at times, and weeds seem to be somewhat of a problem (at least late in the season) as well... our depth sounder wasn't happy at all.

Another Great Stop in Michigan, 2014-08-24
Captain: , Green Cove Springs FL (1380)

This is not a one Star Marina but one that has a 4.1 rating from 23 reviews This is another 5 Star stop! We stayed here from 8-17-14 through 8-25-14. Enjoyed the facilities greatly. You can walk to West Marine. The staff is very professional and goes the extra milethat to make your stay a good one. Restroom, showers and boaters lounge are first class. A good location to stop, smell the roses and enjoy. Take a rental car to Sault St. Marie and see the Soo Locks and also Paradise, MI to see the Great Lakes Ship Wreck Museum. An Oh dont forget the great beach here at the state park just a bike ride away. Enjoy Petoskey, MI. Capt Helen and Chief Engr Bob, Onboard ALLEZ! MT50. AGLCA, MTOA, USPS, DFC, WRCC.

Nice well run marina, 2014-08-16
Captain: , Elk Rapids (100)

Made reservations online and they were expecting us. Radio response was prompt with clear directions to slip. Happily accommodated our preference of tie-up side.

We had a bit of surge with the stiff NW breeze.

We were charged by actual boat length not slip size.

Facilities are clean and newish.

Shopping is close to marina.

Not a great stop, 2014-08-14
Captain: , Massapequa,NY (1156)

Very poorly designed breakwater. It seems to funnel all the waves right into the marina. You rock terribly in a slight breeze, and if the wind picks up the waves are so bad you can't even stand upright on the boat. They assign you a much bigger slip than you need for your boat, so they can then charge a higher price. Restaurants, West Marine, & liquor store aren't too far away, but you have to go up a steep hill. Great bike trails, and excellent polish food at the Polish Kitchen

Another great Michigan city dock, 2014-08-11
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (6484)

Docks protected behind breakwater, wide docks and plenty of room in the fairways. Helpful staff, very clean restrooms/showers. Short walk into town for shopping / restaurants, although grocery not close. Bike trail runs through marina park.

Very nice marina., 2014-08-04
Captain: , Venice, Fl. (919)

Stopped here when we couldn't get space in Charlevoix and glad we did. nother large modern state run marina with friendly staff. Restaurants and shopping nearby. Great bike path. No grocery close but liquor store about 4 blocks away, just ask at check in.

Lovely stop, 2014-08-01
Captain: , Beaufort NC (500)

We throughly enjoyed this stop, nice docks and friendly staff. By the clock tower there is a path into town where there was a good variety of shops and restaurants. City Park Grill has an impressive 1888 mahogany bar worth a stop in for lunch just to see this back bar! Nice bike path into town and along the coast. We preferred Petoskey over Harbor Springs and wished we had spent two days here verses spending two days in Harbor Springs. A great stop on Little Traverse Bay.

Best sunset from laundromat anywhere?, 2014-07-08
Captain: , Baltimore (50)

A clean, friendly marina. Excellent staff and facilities. Town very convenient with good hardware store and West Marine.

Great Marina and Town, 2013-08-19
Captain: , Portage Indiana (503)

This is a great marina and Petoskey is quickly become one of our favorite harbor towns to visit. Clean single use showers and a great staff is always appreciated. The only downside to this marina is the surge it gets in a hard West wind. We were on the north wall facing into the bay and at times had trouble entering and exiting the boat safely because of it's movement in the stall...we had to time the movement of the boat before stepping on the bow! There are large "vents" cut into the wall that opens the marina to the bay and lets the surge right in. I'm not an engineer but that makes no sense to me and drops this marina from 5 stars to 4.

Petoskey Municipal Marina, 2013-08-08
Captain: , Grand Haven, MI (674)

Petoskey had lots of openings for trancient boaters, and as we tied up we were given lots of info right away before we checked in. Like numbers to the bathhouse. Its nice to beable to relax and relieve one self after some time on the water. Employees were knowledgable of the area. A large park close for pet walking and bicycles for use if need to get into town. It's all uphill into town but downhill on the way back. Take the street past the museum its easier than negociating the walking ramp and tunnel on bikes.
Fuel is higher than others around .30 higher per gallon than Northport or St. Ignace,

great stop, 2013-07-22
Captain: , Longboat Key, FL (445)

Nice marina and great dockmaster. High docks with pilings so don't put fenders on until docked. 50 foot slips, laundry even supply the soap. Easy walk to town but no grocery nearby. Found good restaurant, Palette Bistro, short walk. Dog friendly with park adjacent. Bike trail to Harbor Springs and charlevoix adjacent to marina.

Great marina in a great town, 2012-08-28
Captain: , LeClaire, Iowa (449)

We left our boat here a week while we went back to Iowa. They did not give us a break for a longer stay, but we thought their regular rate (1.35 ft) was reasonable. Although the docks are high, the piers are wide with a wider area midway on dock C for boaters to congregate. Lovely new showers, restrooms and laundry. A first class facility in a park-like setting. A beautiful museum just across the street and the vibrant downntown a couple of blocks away. The Hertz car rental place picked us up, an added bonus.

Nice marina, nice town, 2012-08-17
Captain: , Cape Coral FL (4176)

Good marina, pricing is consistent with Michigan DNR pricing. Docks are not floating, they are fixed and somewhat high for this year's water level. That gave us a challenge to get the dog off the boat as our trawler deck was several feet below the dock deck. Got a bad batch of water here. Taste it first !
Nearby park is a great place to let the dog run and play ball to get some exercise. Marina has landry in new building at the end of pier B. We were on Pier C which looked like it was new. Ended up here when Harbor Springs Marina was full. Has good WiFi here.

Great stores and marina, 2012-03-01
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

Marina is nice and new docks are better.

West marine went out of their way to help us, really out of their way!

Wonderful library and shops downtown.

rough ride, 2011-09-10
Captain: , Devils Lake (92)

Nice marina fully equipped.Designers did some boneheaded features, jetty is not built right, docks are fixed not floating thus they have aluminum ladders that are barely useable because 2 out of 5 rungs are blocked by structural steel. Water in harbor is always moving constsantly rocking. Petoskey is a great town,City Park Grill is a must for great dining.

Petoskey is well worthwhile, 2011-08-14
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

Newly remodeled docks and shore facilities. Great downtown within an easy walk. West Marine a couple of blocks away, and a Wal-Mart if you need it by taxi. This is a great stop.

Good proximity to town, but high docks are uncomfortable, 2011-07-28
Captain: , Mesa AZ (1609)

All small town boutique shopping and bistros are within walking distance. Ride bikes 10 miles to Harbor Springs or dingy 3 miles. Eat at White Caps or City Park Grill: excellent food reasonable prices. Large Ace/JC Penney in town. Marina basin is surgy in rough seas. Hemingway territory, museum near marina has info.

One of the Best Michigan Marinas, Petoskey, 2011-07-10
Captain: , Herrington Harbour, MD (680)

Juy, 2011
First class place, clean, good staff, deep water, wi-fi, near the terrific
town of Petsoskey. Great restaurants, art galleries, good shops and near a small grocery store, and 7/11.

WHAT A GREAT TOWN, 2010-12-03
Captain: , MONARCH. COLORADO (1156)

I THINK THIS ONE GETS OVERLOOKED AND SHOULDN'T. ITS POSSIBLY ONE OF THE BEST LAID OUT DOWNTOWNS WE SAW. GREAT MARINA WITH EASY WALKING ACCESS INTO A VIBRANT DOWNTOWN. TOO MANY GREAT RESTAURANTS TO LIST. COULD HAVE STAYED A WEEK EASY.

Good marina in a very central location, 2010-07-25
Captain: , Palm Coast (792)

Well maintained marina is centrally located to center of town only a block away. High docks with deep water. Not easy to get reservations in season.

Car rental is available if you want to use this marina as a base to explore area.

Petosky Marina, 2010-07-15
Captain: , Whitehall, Mi (1754)

Nice stop right off downtown with plenty of stores. While they are working on the breakwater, the harbor does have a lot of surge and I don't think the work on the breakwater will do anything to help.

Our Stay in Petosky, 2010-02-15
Captain: , Grand Rapids (30)

We spent the weekend in the Petoskey Marina and received very good service from the marina staff. They were very friendly and helpful and the town itself holds alot of good resturants and stores.
