Reviews for Peter Island Resort and Yacht Harbour
Avoid dockage and take a ball with caution, 2017-03-07

The mooring balls are $65.00 per night, poorly maintained and extremely close to each other and the shoreline.

I spent the worst night of all tied to their bulkhead. I was up all night adjusting the lines and fenders due to the surge.

The resort is nice and well maintained, the highlight is deadmans beach. The numerous palm trees make it look virtually Polynesian.

Beautiful Resort, 2017-02-12

We visited Peter Island on our 38 ft Lagoon. They do have moorings, however they are fairly close to each other and one is so close to rocks if you have a vessel of any length I would not advise using it. It was quite shallow in the mooring area. The mono next to us ran aground and needed some assitance to get out. Finally, it was quite rolly and the ferries ran frequently. We find staying just next door in Great Harbour to be the easiest mooring with only a short beautiful walk to the Resort.

Quite the spot, if it were not for the swell, 2016-07-31

The resort is fabulous, stunning even, but the solid concrete dock and that damn swell!
This was the first location in the last thirty years I have suffered swell damage!

Top notch in every way, 2015-11-21

Got mooring ball in late morning and was professionally received by Dockmaster Jackson. After check in, walked the 5 mile Sunset Loop that offers truly breathtaking views of the Sir F.D. Channel, Peter Island beaches, neighboring islands and the resort's wind turbines and desalinazation plant. Had fantastic lunch at the restaurant on Deadman's Bay beach (grilled veggie and quinoa salad; mushroom pizza) and an excellent dinner at Tradewinds (no jacket required, nice bermuda shorts and polo worked just fine). Must say the howling wind in the marina made this the 'rolliest' night of the week ;-) Though not inexpensive, this is a well run quality operation and we will definitely return.

Beautiful island, fantastic snorkelling - Peter Island defines the cruising lifestyle and it is the reason so many BVI postcards come from its wonderful anchorages.

WARNING! High Water, 2010-09-02
Captain: , noneorall (13)

We stopped at Peter Island for fuel and water in late July 2010. The fuel dock was neat, clean and accessable. Fuel prices were displayed and not out of reason. However, there was no notice of water price. After taking on 100 gallons of water I was informed that water was $1.00 per gallon.

That is not a misprint. $1.00 per gallon for water from a garden hose. There are places in the BVIs where water is free to those using a mooring. Other places usually charge $0.15 per gallon.

IMHO if you don't want to dress for dinner, visit somewhere else. They don't want charter boats there and they have convinced me not to return.

This is a great place if you are into wearing a jacket to dinner. Not my cup of tea in the BVI's. It was great for lunch. For me I can't imagin bring a sport coat to the virgins.
