Captain: , Port Richey (72)

Great launch ramp and parking. Clean restrooms and showers with AC. The staff was very friendly and helpful at the ramp, in the office and in the shipstore. Plenty of transient docking space and the docks are in excellent shape. We will be back.

Pleasant stay with caveats, 2016-09-25
Captain: , Port Aransas, TX (1283)

We stayed here 9 nights while we made a trip to Nashville; wanted an option to haul out in the event a storm threatened while we were gone. Didn't use the yard services, which appear to be mostly subcontractors. Staff was helpful in discussing options before we arrived. Docks are in great shape; good security; nice landscaping for a working boat yard; very pet friendly. Ship's store went out of way to get parts delivered before we departed. Good Wi-fi signal with our antenna booster. We were told when we arrived they would charge the weekly rate and prorate for additional days beyond 1 week (we didn't know exactly how many days we would stay). We gave them our credit card info on arrival. When we got the final invoice, we were charged for 1 week, as promised, at $5/ft, then charged the daily rate ($1/ft) for the additional days, including the day we left (at 8:30 am). When questioned, they said the prorated rate was only available if we prepaid and the charge for the departure day was their standard policy. In summary, nice place to stay but make sure you understand their rate policies.

Great Marina!, 2015-06-16
Captain: , Orange Lake FL (40)

Great ramp and a very friendly staff. PLenty of parking with two freshwater rinse stations. Great trailer sailing launch point for all of Pensacola and Perdido Key.

Catamaran Haulout, 2015-05-26
Captain: , Annapolis (411)

This yard is very efficient, haulout was quick, they can haul big cats, but they are just not friendly. Troendle Marine next door was awesome handling our boat repairs, bottom paint, and very fair. The office staff at the Shipyard is a reminder of the soup nazi.

Always treated me right, 2015-04-28
Captain: , Huntsville, al (10)

I keep my boat on the trailer there and it is secure with 24 hour security and Julie at the front desk will treat you right.

Marine Maintenance of Bay Co located within Pensacola Shipyard, 2015-04-09
Captain: , Spring City, TN (40)

Needed engine repairs on March 28, 2015. Marine Maintenance, which is located within the Shipyard, provided well above average service, technical advice and service. They are the absolutely the most competant and helpful marine service team we've encountered on our journey. The marina restroom (1) and shower were clean but spartan. The marina and staff have nothing really to recommend them.

For Service Only, 2015-02-27
Captain: , Cincinnati (252)

If you need a haul out this a favorite place for many marine service businesses in the area. They know how to get your boat in and out of the water safely and efficiently. Unfortunatily the office staff has a bit of a take it or leave it attitude. Rigid scheduling which can be good or bad. They could not find us a slip for even one night after our haul out even though there appared to be empty ones. Location is industrial and noisy. Stop here only if you need service. December 2014

Docked here for a month for repairs, 2014-08-04
Captain: , new orleans,la. (206)

Docked here for a month in late June early July, our gear box went out on our IP35, we were tied on the sea wall, which has only on electrical connection, and very difficult to access the boat due to a wall of rocks. they still charged us full price (175) a week, and there list of approved vendors was useless as everyone we called told us they could not even look at our boat for a min of 2 to 3 weeks. we did eventually find a mechanic and we very happy with the repair. the marina it's self is not bad, clean bathrooms, washer and dryer, (1.00 each to use) and a small parts store on site.

Always Friendly and Accommodating, 2014-05-28
Captain: , Baton Rouge, Louisiana (10)

We have used this marina several years now and have always found the marina and store personnel to be friendly and accomodating. We've always been able to get a transient slip even if its only for one night. This is one of the few marinas that we have found that will allow multi-day truck/trailer parking (which is very secure).

A very clean and professional yard, 2014-01-08
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (105)

I keep my 38' catamaran here on the hard when working over seas. They have power and water hook up at the dock and in the yard. The yard is clean and the staff is very helpful. They can have you in or out of the water in under a hour.

Pensacola Shipyard Marina, 2013-09-21
Captain: , Galveston, TX (599)

Not a lot of boats here, but excellent service. Convenient parking, dock carts, pump out, on-site store. Far enough up that wakes are not usually a problem. We're told it's a great hurricane hole too.
There isn't a lot to do at the marina, but it isn't far. And there is a public bus route just a couple blocks up on Navy Blvd.

Hauled out, 2013-04-18
Captain: , Pensacola (142)

I had to haul out for a scheduled bottom job with one of the local contactors (Panhandle Bottoms) and this marina is top notch. Remote controlled boat lift and clean facilities. Etched my boat on haul out. Reasonable rates. Easy in and out. Julie is nice.

Clean and Professional, 2013-03-26
Captain: , Mandeville, La. (267)

We sought shelter from an Easter freeze and high winds at Pensacola Shipyard. They are a do-it-yourself/contractor yard, with experienced and professional staff. Our dinghy outboard wasn't running. I was given a list of mechanics. Troendle Marine is on site and they took the outboard to a mechanic and returned the repaired engine to me the same day. A big, capable boatyard. The transient slips run parallel to the north bank of Bayou Chico. Good floating docks with locking gates and security. No supplies within walking distance.

Great place to work on your boat, 2013-02-17
Captain: , Fort Walton Y.C. Florida (89)

This marina is located at the base of Bayou Chico and is the farthest marina from the Pensacola Bay in Chico. They have floating wet slips, haul-out service, bath facilities, store, boat launch, dry dock, etc. Overall, this is a nice marina. I was here for two months. Great working marina.

Pensacola Marina, 2012-05-15
Captain: , Pensacola (510)

Great place to launch our trailerable sailboat and store the trailer and tow vehicle. Besides that is also a great marina with a professional friendly staff. Floating docks are easy to manuever into and out of and well protected except for unusually strong south winds.

PSMC - Well-Protected, Customer-service oriented, 2011-03-17
Captain: , Atlanta (314)

Great staff, friendly service. We have been there many times. Ship's store is limited but has improved each time we have seen it. Almost unlimited service by yard contrators and the marina staff has been excellent at matching contractors with boat owners.

We have had to do minor engine work on two different engines (two different boats) and the staff has been very cooperative to our own self-service efforts as well as helping us locate "the right" contractor when that was appropriate.

Worth the trip in., 2011-02-01
Captain: , Canyon Lake, TX (346)

The docks are floating and newly resurfaced. The people in the ships store are friendly. Although there is no fuel available at the marina, there is a fuel dock near the entrance to Bayou Chico. Watch for the ocaisional scrap metal barge that dock just south of the marina. They take up a lot of the channel when they transit.

dry storage, 2010-03-07
Captain: , Lakeside, Montana (442)

I have stored my sailboat there twice for several months each time. The yard crew was very professional. billing for storage fees could be set up on automatic to a credit card. I was able to handle things remotely from 2500 miles away.

Well protected marina., 2009-03-20
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (1178)

This marina is located at the base of Bayou Chico and is the farthest marina from the Pensacola Bay in Chico. They have floating wet slips, haul-out service, bath facilities, store, boat launch, dry dock, etc. Overall, this is a nice marina. The only real downside is the parking lot isn't paved, so your vehicle can get dusty driving in/out. Worth checking out.
