Great marina with excellent service. Great stopping place and first class service.

Great Improvements, 2016-03-15

Just stayed at Pelican Rest this weekend. They have added a very nice complex for transient boaters. These new facilities have large bathrooms with very nice showers, commercial grade washer & dryer and a great hanging space with large service counters and a very nice gas grill. Bryce and his team are wonderful.

Very Nice Marina, 2015-11-07

The winds were high and I was by myself...the slip was easy in and the dock master sent help...the walk to the office was a bit long...but I needed the dog love the dog run "canine bluff".... Enterprise car rental less than a mile away and they pick you up and return you to marina....the restaurant was a treat....the outside deck hamburgers were to die for......Marina is a little expensive compared to other marinas...but it is well run and the old saying get what you pay for applies...I would stay here again.

They have everything but a laundry facility.

Great Marina, 2014-08-21

I stayed here Wed - Sun of Thanksgiving weekend. I have a 46' Island Packet sailboat. Blake was manager while I was there and very friendly and helpful. I had no problem making a reservation. At least 4 other boats from my yacht club arrived on Friday, so slips are not a problem this time of year. For larger boats, it is the best facility in the Galveston/Freeport area that I am aware of.

Update (Aug 2014): Stayed here for 2 nights. The second phase of the floating piers have greatly increased capacity. The transient piers are closest to Offatt's Bayou, i.e. furthest from shore. Had blustery winds (20+ kts, SSW) when I arrived, which made entering the slip and tieing up somewhat challenging. It also meant occasional spray landed on the main pier. There are finger piers every two slips. The electrical tie-in is in the middle, not at the finger pier, which makes for a longer distance back to my plugs in the cockpit. Bryce lent me a 50 amp cord to account for this.

The restaurant, Number 13, is now open and very high quality. Food is excellent but pricey. There is a two-story outside deck adjacent to the restaurant, with a bar downstairs. We sat upstairs and watched a pre-season football game. The service inside and out was impeccable.

There is a bait shop at the entrance to the marina with basic necessities. If you need more, you'll need to call a cab.

Nice marina, too expensive, 2014-01-29
Captain: , San Marcos, TX (865)

Spent one night (11/29/13). Nice docks, friendly staff but too pricey for available amenities. Confusing channel markers to enter, call ahead to get clear instructions.

Nice marina, still new and expanding., 2012-08-29
Captain: , Houston, TX (1409)

Phase I complete, transient dockage sporadic. Call ahead, as they only have a few, and sometime rent them out. Restaurant open on site now, great bait tackle shop on site. Phase II will include more slips including transient for <60' boats.

Looks like a really nice marina but have called three times, one no answer, other two times person who picked up had no idea what was going on. May just be getting up an running, There is a sign when entering by boat that states you must call before?

New Marina, 2012-04-28
Captain: , Absarokee Mt (1228)

New Facilities, good dockhands, can be a handful to get into slips with south/west wind. We docked with 20 knots crosswind, and it was not pretty. Good power and water, cab ride into Galveston. If I were to do it again, I would not stern in.

Pelican Rest - Awesome development, 2012-03-18
Captain: , houston, tx (393)

Stayed March 17,2012.This will be an outstanding marina (5stars expected)when completed. Now open with concrete floating docks with one side short finger piers (designed primarily for large sport fisherman vessels -slips around 65ft). This one basin really prevents the chop from entering wich can be significant on Offatt's. Construction planned on a second basin.Very friendly owner / staff. Fuel (diesel and gas will be available soon-tanks set ).
