Approach

The approach is via the recently dredged Wiggins Pass (2013). From marker "WP", follow the marked channel for approximately 0.5 miles. You will see three similar condo buildings, these are the Pelican Isle resort. Club and offices will be on the north side of the channel.

CAUTION: When winds from the west are counter to the outgoing tide, the pass gets very turbulent. Since dredging, the tidal flow is approximately 3 knots.

Reviews for Pelican Isle Yacht Club
Pelican Isle Yacht Club, 2015-06-16

Great Yacht Club. Nice docks, most floating and some fixed. Pool, tennis, water, 30 & 50 amp electric, pump outs, great dinning room, clean restrooms and showers.

They don't answer their phone or return calls, 2014-09-09
Captain: , Islamorada, Florida Keys (319)

As the previous posters mentioned it sounds like this place isn't cruiser or live aboard friendly. Wish I had read the reviews before wasting my time. I called multiple times and no one ever answers the phone in the marina office. I left 2 messages, but the dock master doesn't seem big on returning calls.

Excellent service from staff and friendly membership, 2013-10-16
Captain: , Tampa, FL (176)

I am VERY impressed with Pelican Isle Yacht Club; It's part of a bigger resort and condo community, and a VERY nice facility with floating docks, pool, hot tub, free towels, free laundry, free ice, and a very sociable membership. The staff bends over backwards to ensure you are taken care of, and there are some nice traditional touches as well (They posted my home club's burgee with a welcome sign at the door for me, and also put a miniature flag on the bar where I was sitting). There are also a few good European beers on tap at the bar (Grimbergen, Palm, and Spaten).

If you have any excuse at all, I highly recommend stopping here.

Would not recommend, 2013-01-25
Captain: , Spring Lake, MI (379)

Pelican is an exclusive member owned club that appears not to favor transcients. It was difficult to get permission and were limited to two nights. It was the most expensive per night since we started down the Florida coast. Wiggins had on 4 ft of depth at high tide, so be careful.

Pricy but nice., 2009-11-21
