Approach

Second Bight is home to Parrot Tree Marina, part of the exclusive Parrot Tree Plantation complex. A waypoint at 16° 21,80N, 86° 24.50W will place you 1/4 mile south/southeast of the marked entrance. The channel is 100 ft wide, but it carries 22 feet depth. From the waypoint, head towards the opening, you will see two posts with square boxes, keep these close to starboard. The two steel rails are your starboard markers and a bent steel rail is your port marker. Pass between the two and the very visible shoals and you are inside the bight. The marina docks are right in front of you. It is better to do a visual entrance than by compass course as the channel is only 100 ft wide. In 2010 new channel markers were installed.

Reviews for Parrot Tree Marina
Caution! Unmarked obstructions near the docks., 2013-01-09
Captain: , Lewes, DE (612)

We visited here early in 2012. We were assigned slip at the end of the most westerly dock. The end of that dock is unfinished, with plans to extend it sometime in the future. We hit a submerged concrete piling just off the end of the dock when coming in. It was an unmarked hazard that damaged my keel and destroyed a prop. The marina management was unresponsive when I complained about the problem. Turned out to be a very costly visit. I will never visit here again.

Parrot Tree Plantation, 2011-01-26
Captain: , Kemah, TX (23)

Parrot Tree is probably one of the nicest Marina's on Roatan. We have based there for the past 1.5 years (2009-2010). Reasonable rates compared to the States, Expensive for Roatan. Not alot of boat services available at the marina but very nice ammenities at the resort. There are marine services available on the island that will service your needs at Parrot Tree. Beautiful pool, great reastuarant and pristine beach. The staff seems anxious to accomadate your requests.

Upscale Resort Marina, 2009-09-23
Captain: , Durango, CO (280)

The marina is part of Parrot Tree Plantation. It is located in Second Bight, a very well protected harbor. Resort facilities are excellent. Transient slips are available with power, water and good Wi-Fi.
