Reviews for Paradise Village Marina
Almost as advertised, 2017-03-14
Captain: , Portsmouth NH (380)

One review had it spot on "a five star resort and a 3 star marina". Has a good chandlery current can be somewhat strong with many pongas going up and down the fairways. There is a great market on wednesday. Food was expensive on sight at the market but well stocked. Didn'tgo to town as it was too far from the marina. Its a long way to the back of the bay next time I think I'll stay further out of the bay.

Summer '15, 2017-01-09
Captain: , Georgetown, SC (616)

We spent the summer of 2015 (June - October) here, outwaiting the hurricane season. Docks A & B are the first docks as you enter the marina and are more exposed to surge than those further in (C - G). In times of high offshore swells (e.g., tropical storms), this is a strong consideration. We have pictures of 6'-8' breakers (Hurricane Blanca) coming through the breakwater. The trade off is better air circulation on A & B.
Can't add too much to the earlier reviews, you have all the ammenities you could possibly want. About the only thing missing (besides wifi) is an airport shuttle. Taxi is about 200 pesos (with gratuity). No big deal.
Beautiful facility, well maintained marina. The entire crew is extremely cordial, speak English fluently, and are very helpful.
The free Sunday welcome for all resort guests, hosted by the hotel, is very well done. I recommend it.
The Mexican Fiesta night is highly recommended. High quality entertainment, providing a broad cross section of Mexican folk entertainment. Well worth the cost. All you can eat buffet and essentially bottomless Tequila adds to it.
No laundry facilities on site, but there's a wash & fold or DIY laundry at the adjacent mini-mall.
Holding tank pump out, in your slip, is included in "green marina" fee. If you're staying for a while, they'll come weekly, if needed. Pretty convenient.
For whatever reasons (nutrients in the water, water temp, etc.) I had more fouling here than any place I've ever been. Even with new bottom paint, it required a complete cleaning every 3 weeks. Barnacles, in particular, were severe.

Paradise Village July 2015, 2015-08-16
Captain: , Redondo Beach Ca (490)

We spent a month here on our way south. We were on E dock well out of the swell on A dock, Marina office was friendly, water taxi ride to port captains office was easy and pain free. Nice hotel facility and beach. Lots of things to do also used the dentist office at the mall next to the marina and it was suprisingly excellent had to get a root canal and they did a great job much to my relief. On the down side it is minor but the hotel is ridiculous about thier pet policy you cant even walk the dog on the outer grounds. Also no WIFI at the Marina which is also ridiculous for an operation of this size. If they had WIFI I would give it 5 stars. We use a lot of power and the 50/240 was a little touchy at times. Water was potable and had no issues. Price for staying a month with power was a third of what I was paying in Redondo beach. Very reasonable. Used the Volvo dealer to get Oil changed they were not very timely but did excellent work.

Nicest marina on the Mexico West Coast..., 2015-02-22
Captain: , Newport Beach, CA (410)

Very nice marina... close to beach, grocery, restraunts, and Vallarta Yacht Club. No wifi in slips, but good wifi in yacht club and hotel. Marina guests have full hotel services including pool and spa. Water is free, electric is comparable or less that nearby marinas.

Winter in Paradise, 2014-12-24
Captain: , Oyster Bay, NY (71)

We moved here from Marina Costa Baja in La Paz in December of 2013 to spend a warmer, less windy winter. A 40 hour nonstop cruise with a full moon, my wifes first overnight was Smooth all the way except for the very lumpy passage over Cerralvo Island to get into the Southerly following seas.
Paradise Village Marina is a great spot with recenlty upgraded docks, electrical and wifi. Maintenance services are provided by independent contractors referred by other boaters and the Marina Staff headed by Dick Markey. As in La Paz the folks do a great job of cleaning, waxing and minding your boat when your not there. Use of the beach and pools at the resort Hotel attached are a big plus. Launch the tender anad cruise the inside harbor and canals, you might spot a Croc. The Italian restaurant at the marina is very good and if you like Sushi, there is a Nik-San Sushi a 2 minute cab ride away. This is the same as in Cabo and it is a long time favorite of ours. Fajita Republic is a must if you like Mexican food. It's in a great setting in the trees. Outstanding fajitas and Margaritas. Local golf course with special rates for Marina guests. Big market in the modest sized shopping mall a few blocks walk where you will also find Starbucks, Subway, Dominos, but you want to try the other local restaurants. Of course Puerto Vallarta is a 20 min cab ride and you can find Everything in town including the Big Box stores for provisioning on the cheap.
Getting back and forth from Los Angeles was easy, especially with our Global Pass and TSA Pre passes. It was a wonderful winter in Paradise. We sold the boat as summer 2014 approached and had a Captain bring her back to Newport Beach, CA for the trade in to a new larger yacht. She arrives in January 2015 and we will be headed back to Mexico to do it all over again.

Good clean docks with water and power to each. Helpful staff. Some surge on B dock but also better winds (cooler) than D or E docks

Still a 5-star destination, 2013-02-12
Captain: , Kirkland, WA (4478)

We stayed here twice in the past 2 months with stays of about 2-weeks each. An excellent facility with some of the most helpful people anywhere. Can't say enough good things about PV. We would definately return. With a newly opened closer Sam's Club a short taxi ride away and near a Wal-mart, this is an excellent restocking stop. There's also a Costco a longer taxi ride away. Many things to do, places to eat, and convenient bus transportation to town and other destinations.

true decadence and we love it, 2013-01-12
Captain: , Seattle (402)

We were first here 10 years ago and it is still as much fun. We usually prefer to anchor out but this place is to great to pass up. Everything from great beach to a fun bar to watch your favorite sports events.
Easy bus run into Puerta Vallarta. Must sees there include the malecon and mercardo.

Great Summer Stop, 2012-09-20
Captain: , Long Beach (983)

Marina is top notch. Has a very good summer rate if you are planned to stay during the hurricane season.
Good bus service to downtown Puerto Vallarata.

Top Notch Marina, 2012-02-16
Captain: , Fall City (67)

This marina deserves its reputation as Top Notch. It is within a gated hotel condominium community, and situated in a small estuary. It doesn't exactly feel like you are in Mexico, though. You could be in a gated community in Phoenix or someplace, which makes it very comfortable in that sort of a way. Probably the safest place in the Bay, if not in Mexico, to hole up for the summer hurricane season.

no place better, 2011-06-26
Captain: , Seattle (180)

Only place to stay. Ammenities are first rate. Potable water, no fuel dock but not missed either

Excellent marina, 2011-06-08
Captain: , San Francisco (409)

It doesn't get much better than Paradise Village. There is a small shopping mall within the walking distance with well supplied grocery store. Also there is a small boating supply store nearby.
Friendly Capitania de Puerto is located across the channel in Marina Nuevo Vallarta.

Rated as the best marina in Mexico, 2011-04-25
Captain: , Nuevo Vallarta (34)

Rated as the best marina in Mexico by "Pacific Sportfishing Magazine and selected as one of the top 100 marinas in the world by "Showboat International".

World Class Marina, 2011-04-24
Captain: , Huntington Beach, CA (88)

Full service marina with concrete docks, full utilities, potable water and excellent security. Mall with supermarket and numerous restaurants nearby. Due to the topography of Banderas Bay, area is considered a "safe hurricane hole".
